Volume 6 Chapter 63 I Want to Keep the Place of Memories Beautiful

Randy arrived at the port of Heisenberg about 20 minutes after leaving the island.

It was a small boat, but it had the powerful engine that Braubelg was proud of, so it could go pretty fast.

When Randy reached the port, he had no permission to dock or anything.

He was quickly surrounded by strong Braubelg navy soldiers.

 ...but,

 "Wait!"

A man pushed through the soldiers and appeared in front of Randy.

"This red hair... it might be Sir Randolph."

As the man whispered, the soldiers started to get noisy.

They thought he might be the young man who saved their princess and was working with their leader, Lucian, on many projects.

It was no surprise they were worried about pointing a spear at such a person.

While the soldiers were flustered, Randy smiled wryly and thought, "Oh no."

"I know this is rude, but we don't know each other, so could you please wait a moment?"

"Of course. I'm sorry for coming here without thinking."

Randy bowed his head too, realizing he was the one who came uninvited.

While they both kept bowing, a woman from [Dark Tide] finally appeared, as if she had received a message.

She wore a hood and mask, hiding everything but her eyes, but Randy recognized her presence well.

"Long time no see, Ms. Miranda."

When Randy waved with a smile, the woman called Miranda took off her hood and lowered her mask, revealing her familiar, tired eyes.

"Sir Randolph. May I ask what you are doing here?"

With a puzzled look, Miranda tilted her head, wondering what he was up to, and Randy showed a fierce grin.

 "Just hunting some rude folks."

Miranda understood what Randy meant with just that, but she sighed heavily.

"I see. So that's the message?"

Randy couldn't help but smile and tilted his head at Miranda, who couldn't stop sighing.

"It's a message from the lady: 'Please don't overdo it.'"

Randy scratched his head sheepishly under Miranda's sharp gaze.

He'd tried to look cool sending Liz home alone, but she saw right through him.

"Well, since you caught me... I've been slacking on exercise lately."

It was true──Randy had spent too much time studying teleportation gates lately, barely moving his body.

Sure, he still trained daily with Squad Leader Galhart (Abel's replacement) and Volcan at the port.

 But his last real fight?

Blowing that birdman's head off ages ago.

Basically, he'd been out of action way too long.

"Two weeks is 'way too long'...?"

 Miranda sighed, muttering, "Typical Victor..."

She couldn't fathom his logic, but right now, she was glad for his help.

 "So, will you assist me?"

"Of course! I made up an excuse just to come here."

Randy flexed, then casually started stripping off his clothes.

 "Why are you undressing?!"

"My undershirt has runes on it."

 "Then why...?"

Miranda and the surrounding soldiers exchanged baffled looks.

If clothes could enhance him, why strip?

Randy grinned──until he mentioned the runes were for "suppression" and "weight." Their faces went pale.

 "That makes no sense."

 "Y'know, like training with weights!"

Laughing, Randy removed the undershirt and redressed.

 "Any orders?"

Miranda hesitated, then shook her head at the fully prepped Randy.

"Do as you please. My orders would just slow you down."

 "Got it."

When Miranda offered cleanup crew, Randy refused──no point wasting helpers when he came to assist.

"This is Liz's hometown. I'll clean up properly."

Randy laughed and added that it was just about moving a body.

Indeed, even as [Dark Tide], it was much easier if it wasn't about cleaning up blood and guts.

 "Thank you for your thoughtfulness."

"No problem. Well then, I'm off──"

When Randy lifted his head back up, he vanished.

Randy disappeared in an instant, and even Miranda couldn't follow his figure.

Of course, the soldiers there couldn't either.

Sweat trickled down Miranda's cheek from the usual monster-like presence.

At the same time, she had a feeling that Randy would clean everything up if this continued.

It wouldn't do to leave everything to the guest, so Miranda blew a small whistle at her chest into the night.

The whistle made no sound, but as if it were a signal, a few [Dark Tide] members appeared.

"Everyone, follow the plan. Take down the [Pilgrim of Truth] without mercy as soon as you find them. Don't fall behind Sir Randolph!"

After giving the orders, Miranda strictly commanded that no one act alone, and then everyone, including her, blended into the night and disappeared.

While Miranda and the [Dark Tide] began to move, Randy had already sensed a suspicious presence and was heading that way.

He wasn't familiar with Heisenberg Street, but the place he was going to stood out, so he wouldn't get lost.

Running across the rooftops and leaping over long stairs in just a few steps, Randy arrived at the cliff he had just visited in the evening.

"Hey. Looks like you're having fun."

The men crouching at the base of the lighthouse jumped back in a panic when Randy jumped up from below the cliff.

 "Who are you?!"

"You can tell just by looking. I'm just a passing tourist A."
