Volume 6 Chapter 60-2 They're Betraying Us, Right?
A woman's voice spoke behind Dario.
"You're... turning on the king?"
The man nodded at Dario, who was thinking about it.
"We're done with the stupid king. We'll get a new one."
"Duke Gustav, is it?"
The man nodded hard at Dario's words.
"I didn't think you wouldn't notice."
The man, who was making fun of him, started talking about when Chris was taken away, saying, "Remember?"
Dario was remembering what happened yesterday, as the man asked if it wasn't strange.
Chris said the country would fall.
The man said Chris was crazy.
"The country wants to say Chris is crazy, uh?"
Dario gritted his teeth.
The man looked at the woman holding Dario down and smiled a little.
"Yes. The country wants to treat Chris Row like that, that's right."
"What about──"
"They want to say he's crazy. That means they know he's a little bit normal."
Dario frowned at the man, who was talking over him.
"If you knew he was normal, why did you make me stop Chris Row from saying 'the country will fall'?"
Dario felt a chill run down his spine.
"...No way, because that's the truth you really want to hide?"
The man nodded at Dario's whisper, "You got it."
It was strange, the man said.
Even if he was crazy, it wasn't right for the people who protect the country to just lock him up for saying the country was in danger.
Of course, it's not strange if he always talks nonsense, but Chris was only strange when he said '[Beast of Death (Morticus)]' on the first day.
Other than that, he was normal.
He even had the sense to shut up about things he shouldn't say.
It's strange that they didn't do anything about a man like that, who was saying crazy things.
It's not something you can just say, "He's crazy."
Dario thought about it and clicked his tongue, "Tch," because he didn't think about it enough.
"So? Have you made up your mind?"
The man's voice was flat.
Dario looked up and glared at him again.
"You think I won't betray you, even if you force me to help?"
Dario was trying to act tough, but he could only see his feet because the man was getting closer.
"If you want to betray me, go ahead. If you can..."
The man leaned in, and his face showed he didn't care at all.
"Are you going to kill me here?"
"No way. It won't change anything if we make a fuss."
The man scoffed.
He wasn't talking about Dario, but about Marquis Weissman's family's current situation.
"Do you know how your father is treated in the government now?"
Dario said, "He's the Prime Minister," but the man's expression changed for the first time.
"It's just a show."
His face was like he was laughing.
Dario couldn't say anything.
The man told him about Prime Minister Dill Weissman's troubles.
It was a series of falls because of a fight with Hartfield.
"That's a lie..."
"If you think so, then think so."
The man didn't say anything more, but Dario knew some things were true.
His father looked tired, and it was strange that the Prime Minister didn't know many things.
Dario was silent for a while, but then he looked up at the man again.
"So, my father has already joined Duke?"
"Oh? You're not so dumb."
Dario's face twisted at the man's surprised look.
"I can tell that much."
"So? What will you do?"
The man held out his hand.
Dario noticed he could move his body again.
Dario slowly reached out his free hand and took the man's hand.
"Welcome, Dario Weissman. The future Prime Minister of the kingdom."
Dario nodded, and his "Yes" echoed in the dark basement.

Meanwhile, in a workshop in the port town of Victor Territory...
"Look at this. This is the true power of the dwarf's magical refining!"
Gaston leaned back, rubbing his beard.
In front of him was a dragon's horn that had changed into something like metal.
Randy didn't completely understand, but it seemed this would let him forge biological materials.
When the furnace flame turned an unusual white, Gaston grabbed the material and put it into the furnace.
The furnace was protected by runes, and even the tongs he used were a special pair made of dragon scales, crafted by Liz.
Regular tongs or a normal furnace would melt in an instant here.
"Young lord. You should make the first strike. And I'll need some of your blood too."
"The hammer's fine, but why blood?"
Gaston explained that for Randy's blood to blend with the dragon's soul left in the horn, they could unleash its true power.
"Of course, even if the blood mixes, if your blood loses inside the material, it will just be a tough greatsword."
Gaston adjusted the fire, saying that if Randy's blood devoured the dragon, it could give the greatsword the dragon's self-repair ability.
"Actually, it could even hold flames... but that's not really your style, is it?"
"Yeah. As long as it's sturdy and doesn't break, I'm fine."
Self-repairing would perfectly match Randy's fighting style.
If that happened, he could swing it with full force without worry once the runes were released.
"Alright, here I go!"
Randy bit his fingertip to draw blood while holding the hammer, and Gaston offered him the red-stained material he had heated.
Randy's blood fell onto the material, and his hammer struck it down.
──Klang
The sharp sound echoed through the dwarf workshop, which had been quiet for days.
