Volume 1 Chapter 9 The Villainous Guildmaster, The Strongest Swordsman Requests Assistance
One morning, when I arrived at work, the Guild Hall was bustling with activity.
"It seems Ms. Rozelia has returned!"
"The strongest female swordsman in the Guild, Rozelia of the Crimson Rose?"
"No way! Did she really succeed in exterminating the S-Rank monster, Flame Dragon?"
"As expected of an S-Rank Adventurer!"
That's when it happened.
"Guildmaster! Ah, Guildmaster!"
From the back of the Guild Hall, a figure pushed through the crowd and came towards me.
With a thud, she kicked the ground and flung herself into my arms.
"It's been so long, Guildmaster!"
"How have you been, Ms. Rozelia?"
The tall, beautiful girl with vivid red hair planted a kiss on my cheek.
She is Ms. Rozelia, my number one vanguard (front-line) Adventurer.
"I thought I might die from loneliness without seeing the Guildmaster for so many nights."
"People don't die from loneliness."
"Perhaps not for the likes of you, but to me, the Guildmaster is someone so dear...♡ Ah, Guildmaster...♡"
She went in for a second kiss, but then,
'Hey, wait a minute──!'
Suddenly, a gust of wind swept in front of me.
Before I knew it, a palm-sized woman appeared there.
"A Fairy?"
'I've been watching quietly this whole time. Master, why do you get so close to this man──!'
The Fairy woman called Ms. Rozelia "Master."
"What's this, who is she?"
"She's Mizarii. I saved her when she was attacked by the Flame Dragon. She had nowhere to go, so I took her in."
Fairy Mizarii turned her hostility towards me.
'You're the strongest man in the world my master spoke of?'
"Wrong."
"Yes, that's right. And he's my future husband♡"
Ms. Rozelia suddenly latches onto my arm with a squish.
But a gust of wind blows towards me, and I almost fall on my butt.
"Mizarii! What are you doing?!"
'I don't approve! Such a weak-looking man doesn't match up to my master! No way!'
Apparently, the Fairy doesn't like me.
"I'm sorry, Guildmaster..."
"Don't worry about it. You're not bad."
'Yeah, right! The one who's bad is you, for leading my master astray!'
"Enough! Mizarii! You should reflect on your actions!"
'No way! I don't want to apologize to such a punk!'
With a gust of wind, Mizarii disappeared.
"It's rare to see a high-ranking wind Fairy."
"Yes, she's excellent as a support character, so I thought of bringing her into the guild... but her personality is a bit difficult..."
"It's fine. I didn't choose you for your personality."
"By the way, Guildmaster, is there no new request?"
Ms. Rozelia asks eagerly.
"It's too early. You guys just got back. Take enough rest."
"No, I'm fine. I want to fulfill as many requests as possible to repay your kindness."
I use my Appraisal Eye to check Ms. Rozelia's health status.
Indeed, her physical strength, mental energy, and magic power are all fully recovered.
She's got youth on her side, that's for sure.
I take out a request letter from my Magic Bag and hand it to her.
"We received a support request from the local guild. A new Dungeon has been discovered. I want you to go with your party members."
In our world, Dungeons suddenly appear one day, forming naturally.
When a new Dungeon is discovered, the local guild takes charge and sends an investigation team to explore its interior.
"According to the advance team, even the shallow floors have Rank A monsters."

Ms. Rozelia says with determination.
"The objective is strictly internal investigation. We will fully arrange the supply materials, but if by any chance you encounter the Dungeon Boss, absolutely do not approach."
"Yes, I understand. If it's a high-ranked Dungeon Boss, that means it's a very high-level monster. I know that charging in without a plan would be fatal."
Ms. Rozelia has been an Adventurer for a long time.
She wouldn't go in alone, attempting to enter the Dungeon Boss's lair.

The Wind Fairy Mizarii returned to the Guild hall.

- Along the way, they discovered the Dungeon Boss's lair.
- Mizarii acted on her own and entered inside.
- Faced with the powerful boss monster inside, Ms. Rozelia and the others are in grave trouble.
- Mizarii came to call for help using magic.
"The Wind Fairy can use the [Multiplicity] magic, right?"
Multiplicity is simply a technique to create duplicates.
It creates an identical version of oneself, which can be operated remotely.
The one who came to call for help is a fake, while the real one is still underground.
'...My master tried to turn back. But I thought to myself that it would be fine to go in, and then... I encountered a giant, powerful monster I've never seen before...'
Mizarii sheds tears.
Perhaps not taking the approach of scouting with Multiplicity was due to overconfidence.
'I know it's a selfish request, but please! Help my master who's been left behind underground...!'
Meanwhile, the Guild members listening around nodded in agreement.
"Alright, understood!"
"Let's go! We all help each other in the Guild's crisis!"
"That's us, the Gem of Heavenly Gift!"
I say to the motivated Guild Members.
"No way. I can't allow it."
'Wha...!? W-why not?!'
"Even the strongest of the Guild, Ms. Rozelia, is struggling with this boss! Can you guys really go and defeat it?"
"""W-well, that is..."""
The members of Gem of Heavenly Gift aren't weak.
But in comparison to the top of the Guild, Ms. Rozelia, they're significantly less capable.
We don't know the danger level of the new dungeon, nor the strength of the dungeon boss.
"I can't send you all to such a place and let a lot of you die in vain."
"S-so you're saying you're going to abandon your master!? How cruel! For a Guildmaster, that's the worst...!"
Mizarii glares at me with tears streaming down her face.
"Frederica."
"The preparations are already complete."
The maid Frederica appears silently in front of me, wearing a backpack.
"Mizarii, let's go."
'Huh? Huh? What do you mean...?'
The confused Fairy is reassured by the Guild Members' bright voices.
"Don't worry, Miz-Miz"
"Our reliable boss is going to help Lady Ms. Rozelia!"
Mizarii looks at me with wide eyes.
'B-but... you're saying you're going to abandon my master now...'
"I never said anything like that. Let's go."
I turn around, taking Frederica with me, and exit the Guild headquarters.
'Why... are you helping me? I said such awful things to you...?'
The Fairy Mizarii follows behind me.
"Don't get the wrong idea. It's not for your sake."
Ms. Rozelia is our precious main combat force, losing her would be a huge loss.
"Though she took the request, the responsibility of choosing is mine. Besides, it's still too early to let her go."
'...I"m grateful, but won't it be useless for you to go?'
At that, Frederica shakes her head and speaks.
"You will come to know. Our Guildmaster is not just a kind soul."
