Volume 1 Chapter 44 Gathering with the Villainous Guildmaster and Those Who Have Been Played V
This happened before I became Guildmaster.
Deep within a certain Dungeon, I came across a magnificent palace-like space.
That's where I met a girl from Fenrir and a Transcendent.
'Your eyes are the Time King's Eye. The Appraisal Eye that can see both past and future, the strongest one.'
The Transcendent floated in the air, looking directly at me.
'If you train them, you can manipulate your own time, essentially speeding it up or slowing it down within your body. This allows for physical enhancement and healing. It's the oldest and best Appraisal Eye that exists.'
Its gaze fell upon my own eyes.
'My eyes... were that amazing?'
'That's right. You're good at recognizing other people's talents, but you're awfully oblivious to your own.'
'But I couldn't use such a powerful ability before, could I?'
'Of course not. You didn't even know the true nature of your talent or how to use it until I told you. Look, even if you have a car and a driver's license, you need to go to driving school to learn how to drive, right?'
'At least I understand that what you're saying is incomprehensible.'
'Ah, right. Well, never mind. I can teach you how to use your eyes. I was getting awfully bored, anyway. So, what do you say?'
I trained under the Transcendent and learned how to use my talent, including Unique Time Acceleration.
'Your eyes have 2 ultimate techniques. One for each side.'
'One is Unique Time Complete Stop (Evil Eye). An instant-kill technique that completely halts the target's life.'
'What about the other one?'
'That's it, the ultimate power that rulers throughout history, in every age, have desperately sought but never been able to obtain.'
The ultimate techniques taught by the Transcendent were truly extraordinary abilities.
'But be careful. Great power comes with a great price.'
'Unique Time Complete Stop will cause your eyes to go blind and be unusable for a while.'
'Still pretty cute, you know? Compared to the other power, that is. Well, it's still a force that could shake the world.'
The Transcendent, points their finger at my chest.
'Use it carefully, though.'

Outside of town, standing there was Irankus, the man who once banished me.
He had acquired some strange power and come back for revenge.
'GAAAAAH! GUAAAH!'
The guy pierced his own chest with his hand, releasing a massive amount of magical power from his body.
Irankus's body turned pitch black, growing bat-like wings and twisted, goat-like horns from his head.
"Master... I can sense a demonic aura from this guy now. It was barely noticeable before, but it's fully manifested."
'GUHAHAHA! THIS IS MY ULTIMATE TECHNIQUE, THE SHADOW DEMON KING!'
I activate Appraisal Eye to see through his abilities.
"MASTER, GET OUT OF THE WAY!"
"Hmph."
Frederica draws her ice knife and approaches the demonized Irankus.
She unleashes a series of super-fast slashes.
But her blades slice right through him.
"WHA...!? NO WAY!"
'GYAHHAHA! YOU THOUGHT A PHYSICAL ATTACK WOULD WORK AGAINST MY SHADOW FORM?!'
GWO!
Irankus raises his fist.
Frederica tries to defend, but Irankus slams his fist down anyway.
In an instant, I snatch her away.
Where she was standing just a moment ago, there was nothing left: no ground, no trees, nothing at all.
"None of our attacks are landing, and this power... Master, this guy is invincible."
I lower her to the ground.
'YEAH! I'M INVINCIBLE! THE STRONGEST! UNBREAKABLE! THE ULTIMATE GUILDMASTER, SUPER SIR IRANKUS!'
I let out a sigh and say,
"What kind of Guildmaster are you if you don't have a single Guild Member to protect?"
'WHAT... DID YOU SAY!?'
"For the first time we have subordinates to protect, we have a place, and we can become the top of the organization...guildmaster. Have you forgotten about that?"
'UGH, SHUT UP, SHUT UP! DIEEEEEEE!'
With Unique Time Acceleration, I dodge Irankus's fist.
From his body sprout countless shadowy tentacles.
'YOU BRAT! DESPITE BEING YOUNGER THAN ME! DESPITE HAVING LESS LIFE EXPERIENCE THAN ME! YOU DARE LECTURE ME ABOUT GUILDMASTER THEORIES, HUH?!'
Each tentacle moves independently.
They're powerful enough to tear up the ground, and coming at me at super-speed, it's incredibly troublesome.
Using Appraisal Skill and Unique Time Acceleration, I avoid them all.
'FUFUFU! JUST RUNNING AWAY WON'T DEFEAT ME...'
I create distance and cover both my eyes with one hand.
"WAIT, MASTER...! DON'T DO IT! YOU CAN'T USE THAT!"
Frederica frantically tries to grab my arm.
'IT'S OVER! I'M GOING TO DIE!'
Countless shadowy tentacles descend upon me.
It's an attack from all directions.
Their tips are shaped like spears, and I can see poison coating them.
...the Transcendent's ultimate move.
Unique Time Complete Stop (Evil Eye).
It's a technique that completely kills anything it targets.
But my vision is completely obscured by the tentacles, so there's no way I can use this to stop Irankus.
So...
I'll activate my other ultimate technique.
"MASTER! NO! MASTER!"
If I keep going like this, Frederica will be caught in the crossfire and die too.
...I told her to back off, but she's such a stubborn stray dog, always ignoring her owner's commands.
"Eye of the Time King. Overdrive. [×××××]"
My eyes blaze with blinding light.
...in that instant, the world freezes.
And everything comes to an end.
The shadowy tentacles vanish without a trace.
"What...what is this...? What just happened...?"
"I reversed everything with my power."
Before me stands Irankus, restored to his original form.
He had completely changed from his shadow demon form to that of his previous Guildmaster days.
Not only Irankus, but the ground and trees of the destroyed forest are all restored.
"That's absurd... impossible. The [Dark Demon King] said it was his ultimate technique, activated at the cost of his life..."
I'm heading to Irankus.
"Why... why did you make a move to help me...?"
He's agitated.
He tried to kill me with a self-destructive move, but I was spared.
"Could it be... you're forgiving me? Are you saying it's too early for me to die...?"
Heh... I laugh.
"Not a chance."
"Huh...?"
I clench my fist with a tight *squeeze*.
"You dared to harm my precious town, my guild members, and... my partner."
I activate Unique Time Acceleration.
"W-WAIT...! I'M SORRY! PLEASE, FORGIVE ME! I'LL APOLOGIZE FOR EVERYTHING!"
I strike Irankus's cheek with a fist accelerated to the max.
"BWAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"
Spinning around in the air multiple times, he lands with a splat on the ground.
He's twitching and convulsing.
He's not dead.
"You'll pay for your crimes in the proper place. It's too early for you to die."
Looking down at the unconscious Irankus, I speak.
When I turn around, Frederica is crying.
"...You said not to use [that], didn't you?"
She clings to me, sniffling.
"Master... to help me..."
"Don't get the wrong idea. I just wanted to completely cut off my ties with the past on my own. It has nothing to do with you."
My heart thumps.
The price of using such power is hitting me now.
"...I'm a bit tired."
"...Yes. Goodnight, Master. That was a brilliant resolution to the incident."
