Volume 1 Chapter 36 Lawrence Hero Party's (Promotional) Activities
In the country where the Guildmaster Act resides, right next door lies the desert nation of Fotia'tuya.
The Town of Wozs, a fishing port, was currently under attack by [demons].
A fish-like demon—the [Carp King]—led the assault.
Its muscular body was covered in bright red scales that gleamed ominously.
'Hahaha! WEAK! YOU'RE TOO WEAK, HERO PARTY!'
The Carp King roared with laughter, his voice reverberating through the ruined port.
Buildings crumbled.
People screamed as they bled and fell.
The fishing port was being ravaged by the monster's relentless attack.
And worse...
The Hero Party of Fotia'tuya had been wiped out by the Carp King alone.
"D-Damn... what... such strength... it's like trying to bite down on air..."
One of the fallen heroes groaned, barely able to lift his weapon.
A Hero was supposed to be a being chosen by the king to defeat the Demon King.
Each one was stronger than an S-Rank Adventurer.
The Heroes of Fotia'tuya were by no means weak.
But...
"I CAN STILL DO THIS! I'LL PROTECT EVERYONE!"
The Hero shouted with desperate determination.
'You're weak,' The Carp King sneered.
In an instant, the Carp King's figure vanished.
Before anyone could react, his massive hand was clamped over the Hero's face.
Then—
SLAM!
With a sickening crash, the Hero's head was smashed into the ground.
His skull shattered, blood pooling beneath him.
The earth cracked, leaving a crater as if a giant had stomped down from the heavens.
"How could... a Hero like that be defeated...?"
One of the remaining party members whispered in disbelief.
"...There's no way we can win against such a monster..."
The surviving party members' faces were etched with despair.
'YOU HUMANS ARE TOO WEAK,' the Carp King declared, spreading his arms wide. 'IS THIS ALL? ...NO, PERHAPS IT IS THAT I AM TOO STRONG.'
As he spoke, countless orbs of water appeared in the sky.
They hovered ominously, glimmering in the broken light.
'DIE.'
The orbs turned into high-pressure jets of water, raining down like a thousand spears.
They pierced through stone, punched holes in the earth, and tore through the remains of the fishing port.
Within moments, the area was reduced to ruins—nothing left but a honeycomb of devastation.
The deafening sound of destruction stopped.
A silence fell.
'WITH THIS, I'VE FINISHED OFF THIS TOWN. THE HEROES WERE RATHER DISAPPOINTING... HUH?'
The Carp King frowned.
Something was wrong.
Over the fallen town, a shimmering wall of light had formed—protecting the survivors.
They were alive.
Untouched.
'WHAT? WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE UNHARMED AFTER TAKING MY HYDRO GATLING? WHAT KIND OF ROBUST DEFENSIVE MAGIC IS THIS...? WHO ON EARTH ARE YOU!?'
The source of the barrier was clear.
At its center stood a slender boy, so delicate he could almost be mistaken for a girl.
He held a staff with both hands, steady and calm.
"Everyone, it's alright! We've... the Hero Party has arrived!"
The boy declared, his voice carrying hope.
'Tch. So a new Hero Party shows up...'
The Carp King's voice rumbled with annoyance.
Two figures stepped forward beside the boy.
One was a silver-haired warrior, a massive spear resting across his shoulders.
The other was a playful-looking female archer with a mischievous grin.
"Hey there! I'm the Hero Party's top spear—Ulgar! Remember me, Fishy?"
Ulgar twirled his spear lazily as he smirked.
'DON'T GET CARRIED AWAY, MERE HUMAN!'
The Carp King snarled.
SLAP!
With a sharp clap of his hands, countless eggs burst from the sea's surface.
They hatched into a swarm of fish-shaped monsters, their razor teeth glinting wickedly.
The Flying Piranha—each one an A-Rank monster.
'GO! DEVOUR THEM, MY MINIONS!'
The monstrous fish swarmed toward the Hero Party with terrifying speed.
"It's my time to shine!"
Ulgar grinned.
WHOOSH!
He blurred forward like a thunderbolt.
And in an instant—
The entire swarm vanished.
Slain before they could even get close.
'WHAT!? WHAT KIND OF SPEED IS THAT!?'
"Hehehe, you can be more surprised, you know~?"
Ulgar taunted, flashing a playful wink.
But in the moment he got cocky, the Carp King snarled and summoned another minion.
From the depths, a massive creature emerged—
A Water Dragon.
An S-Rank dragon that looked like a monstrous sea snake, its eyes burning cold.
'SLAY THEM!'
The dragon opened its jaws and unleashed a freezing breath of ice.
"Huff... you're too kind, you know~!"
Ulgar stood his ground.
The breath struck him head-on.
And he didn't move an inch.
'WHA—WHAT!? HOW CAN YOU NOT EVEN FLINCH AFTER TAKING A DRAGON'S ICE BREATH!?'
Ulgar smirked.
"It's because my girlfriend Eli's barrier magic is so powerful! Right, Eli~♡"
The boy holding the staff sighed awkwardly.
"Um... I'm not actually a girl..."
"HEY, ULGAR! DON'T GET TOO FULL OF YOURSELF!"
Mida shouted, nocking an arrow.
She loosed it without hesitation.
The arrow flew like a shooting star—piercing through the Water Dragon's belly in a single strike.
"HEY, HEY! DON'T STEAL MY SPOTLIGHT!"
Ulgar huffed.
The Carp King stared, his wide fish-eyes filled with disbelief.
'WHAT IN THE WORLD... WHO ARE THESE GUYS!? THEIR LEVEL IS ON A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DIMENSION!'
One after another, the demon minions fell.
Starting with the Water Dragon, they were utterly overwhelmed.
And soon, only the Carp King remained.
"IS THAT IT...? YOU'RE NOT AS IMPRESSIVE AS I THOUGHT, BUDDY!"
Ulgar sneered, spinning his spear.
'DON'T GET CARRIED AWAY... SPEAR WIELDER!'
The Carp King roared, lunging forward.
