Volume 1 Chapter 23 The Exiled Healer and the Foolish Hero [Vulcan I]
"[LUNA], YOU'RE NO LONGER NEEDED IN THE HERO'S PARTY. GET OUT!"
The girl was named Luna.
In a kingdom, the same as the one where Act was the guildmaster, she was responsible for healing in another country's Hero party.
After finishing a dungeon exploration, they returned to the town and stayed overnight.
At breakfast, she was suddenly told of her expulsion by the leader, Hero Vulcan.
"...What... why! I've been working so hard..."
"It's simple. You're not useful in the party. We have my [Saint], Mary, for healing."
Next to Hero Vulcan sat a voluptuous and alluring beauty.
"It's one thing before Mary joined, but now we have a superior healer in the party. We don't need you anymore."
"...That's so cruel. We've been adventuring together until today..."
Luna and Vulcan were childhood friends from the same village.
The two had become adventurers together and had worked hard until now.
"Out of childhood friendship, I kept you around until now, but actually, Mary and I... started dating yesterday."
Vulcan pulled Mary close and smooch—passionately kissed her in broad daylight.
"So, you're just a nuisance now. Sorry about that."
Since she hadn't seen Vulcan as a romantic interest, she didn't feel a bit shocked about losing him to another woman.
"But... are you really okay? It'll be bad if I'm gone."
"Huh...? What's with you all of a sudden?"
"Sure, Mary is better at healing. But you don't seem to realize, you guys are too weak. That's why I was assisting you with support magic."

...It was a huge blow.
"FINE! GET OUT!"
Tears streaming down her face, Luna ran out of the inn.
She dashed through the town, running aimlessly.
Tap tap tap tap—her footsteps echoed on the stone roads.
She had started learning support magic from scratch to support her weak hero childhood friend.
But suddenly, it all felt pointless and useless.
...In the end, she thought, looks are everything in the world, and effort doesn't matter.
Until she met him.
"Luna. Want to work for me?"
He was the Guildmaster of a guild called the Gem of Heavenly Gift.
"To learn support magic to that level from scratch is something few can do. Your effort is commendable."
"I want you. I want you to use your skills to the fullest here."
"...But, I'm short, and skinny, and I'm not very pretty, am I?"
"Don't be stupid. Your worth isn't determined by your looks. What matters is what you can do, your inner self. You have incredible potential."
"...What's wrong, why are you crying?"
She bowed her head deeply.
"Thank you... very much... [Guildmaster]. I'll do my best here."
And so, Luna became a member of the [Gem of Heavenly Gift].
Later, she began to shine brightly, showing her true potential.
Meanwhile, the Hero Vulcan, supported by Luna's auxiliary magic, was falling from grace.
