Volume 1 Chapter 18-2 The Villainous Guildmaster, Putting on a Show for My Subordinates
"W, what the hell...! I hit you so hard, and you barely have a scratch... What does that mean!?"
"It's simple. In my eyes, your pathetic attacks appeared to move in slow motion."
The Time King can see the future.
I knew exactly where they would strike.
So, at the moment of impact, I just shifted my body back a bit.
By doing this, I minimized the damage.
"Y, you... you were just pretending to take a hit, weren't you!?"
Stumbling, the leader rises and glares at me.
"Of course. Did you really think I would fall behind to a bunch of nobodies? What a bunch of fools."
I was aware of these idiots closing in on me for a counterattack.
While I could take them out in an instant if I wanted, I was deliberately holding back for the sake of my subordinates' growth.
"Ugh! You're getting cocky...!"
The leader makes one last desperate charge at me, gathering all his strength.
But I activate Unique Time Acceleration, dodge his attack, and land a counterpunch to his gut.
"What the... that move... it's like you're a monster..."
"You played your role beautifully as a stepping stone. You did well."
THUD!
The leader passes out.
"Guildmaster!"
Eli cries as he runs over to me.
He hugs me and whispers.
"You were pretending to be weak for my sake, weren't you? Why go through such roundabout methods?"
I pat Eli on the head.
"I told you your heart isn't weak. You possess a strength that matches your abilities. I wanted you to realize that."
"You risked yourself to teach me..."
Eli sniffles, tears streaming down his face.
He leans his head against my chest and murmurs softly.
"Thank you... Guildmaster."
"No need for thanks. It was part of your education."
Eli responds with a pout.
"...But tricking me, even for my growth, is cruel. I was genuinely worried, you know?"
"Did you not know? I'm the Villainous Guildmaster who will stop at nothing to achieve my goals."
Eli was wide-eyed but had a flower-like smile.

Later.
In my room (Guildmaster's).
"Hey Guildmaster! Long time no see!"
Ulgar, the spear wielder of the Hero Party, came to me.
"Seriously, you're using me up so quickly. So? Where's the [newbie] you were talking about?"
Just then, Eli arrives.
"Guildmaster, what's the matter?"
Seeing Eli, Ulgar's body stiffened.
"Eli, I banish you from the Guild!"
"What...? What do you mean?"
"You've become an unnecessary human to this Guild. From today, you will be a member of the Hero Party and operate as such."
That night, Eli gained more courage and strength.
He even achieved a level of magic prowess that would be worthy of the Hero Party.
"Me...? I don't think I'm fit to be in the Hero Party."
"What? Are you saying I have poor eyesight?"
"My apologies!"
"Then trust me. As a fellow hero, help those in need."
Eli seemed to have made up his mind, he nodded slightly and bowed before me.
"Thank you, Guildmaster! I...I will never forget this favor!"
I said to Ulgar who was still standing stiffly.
"Hey, what are you spacing out for? Take him to the Hero's side already!"
"Uh, uh...Eli-chan, right?"
Ulgar took Eli's hand and said.
"Will you go out with me!"
To Eli's confused expression, Ulgar said passionately.
"I fell for you at first sight! Come on, let's save the world together! And then we'll get married and live happily ever after in the countryside!"
...It seems this idiot thought Eli was a woman.
"I'm sorry, Ulgar. I can't."
"What!? Why?!"
I'm a man, Eli said with a laugh.
"I've already decided on someone in my heart! Once everything is over, I plan to confess to that person and get married!"
"W-wait, what?!.."
Ulgar slumps his shoulders in disappointment.
"Well then, Guildmaster. Take care! I'll be back once everything is done!"
Eli took Ulgar and left the room.
"But Eli was making a girlfriend without me knowing. He's a sneaky one."
Hah... Frederica sighed.
"...Seriously, you're an amazing person, yet so oblivious to others' feelings."
