Volume 1 Chapter 10 The Villainous Guildmaster, Fighting the Dungeon Boss
I'm heading towards the Dungeon with Frederica and the Fairy Mizarii.
By combining Appraisal Eye and Unique Time Acceleration, I swiftly dive underground while avoiding combat as much as possible.
Upon opening the door to the boss room and stepping inside, we arrive at a vast hall.
'GROOAAARRRR!'
The lower body is like an octopus, and the upper body is that of a giant.
Countless black tentacles sprout out, attacking the Adventurers.
"Haa...! Haa...! This is... the end for me..."
'GROOAAARRRR!'
Just as a thick tentacle was about to strike Rozelia.
I close the distance in an instant, taking her with me to evade the attack.
"Guildmaster!"
"Rozelia, are you alright?"
After the tentacle passed, the ground was gouged out.
Upon closer inspection, the tentacles seemed soft, yet they gleamed like blades.
"Frederica."
"Understood. Please check for and treat the injured, Master."
While holding onto Rozelia, I part ways with Frederica.
Crack...!
As Frederica's body shimmers, she transforms into the gigantic wolf Fenrir.
'Strange Monster, I shall be your opponent.'
The giant is startled by Fenrir's appearance and turns its attention towards her.
Seizing the opportunity, I pull away.
"Guildmaster... you came to help me... for my sake."
"Don't get the wrong idea. I was just called here by this thing."
'Masterrrrrrr!'
Mizarii's clone hugs Rozelia.
"I'll heal you right away, to the Party Members."
"Y-yes!"
In the corner of the room, there were the Party Members.
Apparently, Mizarii was defending against the tentacles with a wind barrier.
"Rescue and defense, remarkable skills."
I pat the head of Mizarii's main body.
"You did well. Leave the rest to me."
'Uu... sniff...'
Slowly, Mizarii sheds tears.
"Guildmaster..." "I'm sorry..."
I crouch down in front of them, unable to move due to their injuries.
"What are we going to do? Can we even use Healing Magic?"
I activate the Eye of the Time King.
The blood that was flowing from their wounds suddenly stops.
"The pain has stopped!" "Amazing! The Guildmaster is incredible!"
"Wha!? Not just stopping the bleeding, but the pain too!? What on earth are you doing!?"
"It's an application of Unique Time Acceleration. By slowing down the internal time of those who look into my eyes, I can halt the progression of their injuries."
"Incredible... If that's the case, they won't deteriorate and die from blood loss. We can treat them slowly later..."
After finishing the first-aid, I turn to leave.
"Guildmaster, what will you do?"
"I will defeat the boss with Rozelia."
Rozelia is the only one who is relatively lightly injured.
When I say this, the party members raise their voices.
"Guildmaster... we can fight!"
"No. Right now, you are just prolonging your deaths. If you recklessly counterattack, you will die."
"B-but... we can't just sit back and watch while the Guildmaster fights!"
"If that's how you feel, then do as you please. However, those who go against the Guildmaster's orders are not needed in my guild. Get out."
"I-I don't want that..."
"Then stay back quietly."
After confirming they won't follow, I head towards Frederica with Rozelia.
"The Guildmaster... is indeed a kind person."
Rozelia says with a smile.
"You spoke so coldly to prevent them from overexerting themselves, didn't you?"
"What's that all about? Let's finish this quickly and go home."
Behind us, Mizarii's clones are sticking close.
"W-what are we going to do about that monster?"
Frederica, now transformed into Fenrir, deals damage to the tentacles with magic and her fangs.
But no matter how much we cut or freeze, more tentacles keep sprouting endlessly.
I gaze at the creature with my Appraisal Eye.
"They have super regenerative abilities. We won't be able to take them down unless we outnumber them and outgun them."
'Hey, it's not just 3 of us who can move!'
"Three should be enough. Frederica, Rozelia, let's finish this."
'Yes!'
Frederica takes a stance and lets out a roar.
In an instant, it freezes everything around in a wide area.
'What!? What kind of high-powered ice magic is this!? The lower half of that octopus monster is frozen solid!'
I use Unique Time Acceleration and rush towards the enemy with Rozelia.
'No! New tentacles are growing!'
"Take thisss!"
Rozelia draws 2 swords from her waist and unleashes a series of fierce strikes at incredible speed.
Frederica deals with the existing tentacles while Rozelia faces the new ones appearing.
And I, alone, charge into the enemy ranks.
'What are you doing!? You're going to die!'
"No, we've already won"
'What are you talking about!? What can such a weak Human do!'
I run up the giant's body.
Frederica is using all her magic to freeze the giant and can't move.
Soon, I reach right in front of the giant's eyes.
"You've been causing quite a bit of trouble, haven't you?"
The giant's eyes lock onto me.
I press my hand against its left eye and pour all my magic into it.
"The crime of harming my subordinates is grave. Die as atonement."
'GRAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!'
New tentacles sprout and surge towards me.
"[Unique Time Complete Stop (Evil Eye)]"
At that moment, a powerful red light emits from my left eye.
Thud...!
The tentacles come to a complete stop just short of my body.
The giant collapses like a puppet whose strings have been cut.
As I fall to the ground, Frederica catches me on her back.
"Good work."
'As expected of the Master, that was some skillful maneuvering.'
Frederica shrinks back into her Human form.
We land safely and head back to where Rozelia is.
'Taking down that giant in one hit!? What... what on earth... what did you do!?'
"It's a technique that completely halts the internal time of whoever meets my gaze."
"Are you saying you can kill someone just by looking at them? That's insane! B-but is it okay to use such a powerful ability?"
"No problem. Let's head back."
My body swayed...
Rozelia and Frederica helped support me.
"As expected, you are our best Guildmaster♡"

Days later.
Rozelia visited my (Guildmaster's) room, accompanied by Mizarii.
'I'm so, so sorry!'
Mizarii bowed deeply in front of me.
I looked at them with only my [right eye].
Mizarii shrugged her shoulders apologetically.
'Because of my careless actions, I put you and the Guild Members in danger... I truly regret it...'
Mizarii spoke in a voice that seemed to fade away.
'I think I'll leave the master's side.'
"Why?"
'Because... not only did I cause trouble for you, but I also burdened the Guild Members and... the Guildmaster.'
Mizarii looked at my left eye with pity.
Half of my face was wrapped in bandages and talismans.
'That last blow... the price was indeed a heavy one, right? I've injured the top of the organization; I'll give up on being here...'
Mizarii lowered her shoulders and was about to leave.
"Wait. It's too early to leave."
'Huh...?'
"You've only just joined this Guild as a provisional member, and I haven't even given you a Guild Certificate yet. The Guild Members understand that newcomers can cause trouble, and if you feel bad about that, then your willingness to lay aside your pride and seek help to save the lives of the Guild Members makes it all forgiven."
'Huh? No... Huh? B-but...'
"Moreover, your support underground was remarkable. It's too soon to let someone who can provide such precise support slip away from this Guild. Please continue to support Rozelia and the others."
I hand over the Guild Certificate I had prepared for Mizarii.
'Guildmaster... ugh... sniff... waaaah!'
The Fairy clings to me, crying like a child.
'I will do my best! I will work hard for you, Guildmaster!'
Seeing this, Rozelia nods in admiration.
"As expected of you, Guildmaster. Not only did you save us, but you're also training the newcomers♡"
"More importantly, Rozelia, as punishment for putting the Party Members in danger this time, you're on probation for a while."
"Oh, probation?"
"That's right. There's a Guild-owned resort in Beach Town. Take the members there for about half a month on probation. During that time, you can do whatever you want at the beach. I'll make sure you have enough money to live comfortably, so don't worry... why are you laughing?"
