Reincarnator clenches their jaw, eyes narrowed at Rai.
They bite down with ferocious intensity.
Their expression clearly states the undeniable truth behind Rai's words.
"Who are they? What are you... what are *you* all trying to do? Answer me!"
He takes a step forward.
Absolute death looms over Reincarnator.
"Hey, killing me now doesn't mean anything! This woman's death, I'm *not*──"
He discards the feminine tone they'are used to mislead, their voice rising in anger.
"*So what...?*"
"──What?"
But Rai dismisses Reincarnator's outburst with a single word.
It's meaningless, he says, not worth considering.
"If I kill that girl here and now, I'll need to find a new body and come to this mansion. ──That's all the time I'd need. What do you think I could do?"
Rai tilts his head, his movements like a phantom from hell.
Behind him stands Eltor.
An ordinary person who has given up on escape but carries mountains of vital evidence.
The moment Reincarnator realizes Rai's intent, their blood boils.
Anger surges through them.
"Y-You're not just going to kill Reincarnators! You're killing innocent people too!? What are Holy Knights, putting on a show for us murderers!?"
Reincarnator screams.
They cry out, their anger a righteous fury against the Holy Knights who claim to be righteous but are merely killers.
──But it was a slip of the tongue. A fatal one.
Their words inadvertently revealed several truths to Rai.
First, there are other Reincarnators.
Second, at least one of them has already been killed by the Purge Knights.
Third, Reincarnator has some regard for ordinary people.
The third point is shocking.
Most Reincarnators in the past have shown no concern for civilians, acting recklessly and committing countless atrocities.
This is because up until now, Reincarnators have never been concerned about the ordinary people, and have had arrogant behavior and repeated incidents.
Reincarnators, with their special cheat abilities, didn't even see ordinary humans as people.
That's why this slip of the tongue was a mistake.
It gave Rai and the Holy Church information the speaker never intended to reveal.

His eyes, wide and bloodshot, locked onto the Reincarnator sprawled on the ground.

It was when Rai was about to behead the Reincarnator without a word, the possessed girl along with him.
Thud.
The Reincarnator, frozen with a look of terror... no, the *girl* fainted, collapsing onto the floor.
The killing intent vanished from Rai's body in an instant.
He sheathed his drawn sword and muttered to himself.
"*Surprisingly quick*, Noah."
