Volume 3 Chapter 14 ACT.50 Answer Comparison (Ⅰ)
The day after the Reincarnator's attack.
Just as the sun began its climb to the apex of the sky, it happened.
──The door of Baron Eltor's residence was violently kicked in.
"Excuse me!"
Clad in black armor and fully armed, Rai barged into the mansion, his voice booming in a way that felt out of character.
Crushing the scattered wooden debris underfoot, he marched straight to the staircase──heading for the office on the second floor where he believed Baron Eltor was.
As he reached the landing, a flustered maid came rushing after him.
"K-Knight!? What in the world is happening!?"
Stunned by the sudden act of aggression, she nonetheless sprinted up the stairs, determined to stop Rai.
In response, Rai drew his sword without hesitation.
"Eep!"
"No questions asked, if you try to interfere──"
His icy gaze pierced through the girl.
In her violet eyes, a cruel intent flickered.
"──I'll cut you down."
The pitch-black blade was held unwaveringly against the girl's throat.
Just a single step forward would mean instant death, and she froze in place, as if paralyzed.
"The baron's betrayal is clear. Therefore, without needing confirmation from Saint Stella, I will execute him here and now. If you shield him, you'll share his fate."
His actions were beyond logic and understanding, clearly crossing into madness.
Yet, as just a maid, the girl had no power to stop him.
──The blade was lowered, perhaps because he sensed her will to resist had vanished.
As Rai's back receded from view, she collapsed to the ground, quietly soaking the floor with her tears.
And for Rai, there was no time to concern himself with her.
He needed to secure Baron Eltor before he could escape.
Dashing down the corridor, he charged through the door to the office using his shield.
"Wha──What do you mean──!?"
It seemed Baron Eltor had been in a frantic scramble to flee the moment Rai burst into the mansion.
He was frantically tossing papers around, trying to gather multiple documents.
Caught off guard by the fully armed, sword-drawing Rai, the baron lost his grip and fell to the floor in shock.
To the pathetic figure of the baron, Rai coldly declared.
"──It's obvious that you're engaging in treachery. It's just that I couldn't find the evidence."
"Y-Yeah?"
"I didn't find it, but it seems that this bundle of crumpled papers is the evidence after all."
Rai's icy glare turned toward the scrunched papers he held.
In an instant, the already pale face of Count Eltor drained to a sickly gray.
"Ah, ah, no, this is──"
"To those who collude with Reincarnators, I decree a purge!"
Purge Knight Rai Conwell raised the dark blade that was a symbol of his power.
It was the moment the *true objective* was finally achieved.
