"Ev, everyone! Are you all right──"
Just as Rai finished the purge, a young man rushed into the children's room, looking flustered.
He was a young man with red hair standing on end and a fierce gaze.
The scene that greeted him as he entered the room was the slaughtered bodies of 6 children and the figure of a black-clad knight, like a Death God, standing there.

The young man was struck dumb.
Seeing him, Rai came to a certain realization.

In an instant, Rai charged with his shield.
In the low-ceilinged cave, wildly swinging a sword was not a wise move.
Therefore, Rai judged that a shield bash with minimal preliminary movement, hard to detect, and easy to maneuver, was the optimal solution for the first strike.
However, the opponent took an unexpected action.
With the guard of his long sword, he precisely parried, elegantly deflecting the shield's trajectory and dissipating its momentum.
Then, without wastefully swinging, he struck Rai's jaw with the pommel of his sword as they passed each other.
As his vision swayed for a moment, Rai, sensing danger, quickly lowered his body and rolled away to create distance.
However, a swift sword strike pursued him to the spot he had just distanced himself from.
Rai barely dodged the sword strike, but the attacks did not cease.
In this narrow room, the young man continued his attacks with the supposedly unwieldy long sword, always one step ahead of Rai.
Then, Rai noticed something.
This young man was not only highly skilled with the sword but also exceptionally good at predicting moves.
Finally cornered against the wall, Rai parried the attacks with his sword.
In the swordlock, Rai began to be pushed back.
It was inevitable, as Rai held his sword with one hand while the young man used both.
"Shall I guess what you're thinking right now?"

"Why I can predict your actions and shut them down, right?"
While being pushed back by the sword, the young man revealed the trick of his magic.
"My cheat (special ability) is future prediction! I can see right through everything you've got!!"

With that, Rai kicked the young man in the abdomen from the close-contact position.
The young man, who accidentally took a knee to the solar plexus, stumbled backward greatly.
At that moment, Rai repositioned his shield and re-established his stance.

Besides, the person here isn't the boy from 3 years ago.
For 3 years, he's been a veteran knight who has fought against Reincarnators, who wield powers beyond the norm called cheat (special ability), with power equal to or greater than his own.
