Volume 3 Chapter 2-2 This Technique Can't Be Leaked
"...Elmusca?"
Her Highness didn't seem to recognize the name and tilted her head in confusion.
That was only natural.
I myself had never heard of a god by the name of Elmusca.
It was safe to assume Her Highness had no knowledge of it either.
But, based on everything we'd uncovered so far, there was no doubt in my mind:
It was the name of a god.
If that was the case—
"Your Highness, I believe Elmusca may be an unknown god. Or perhaps... a god that doesn't exist."
"...What exactly do you mean?"
Her Highness furrowed her brow at my explanation.
Well, I couldn't blame her—it was a hard concept to grasp.
But I had evidence to back it up.
Previously, Ferron—a Dark Mage with the power of Godslayer—had seen through the other Gifts I carried.
And yet, he completely overlooked the Magic Stone of Elmusca.
Even Adiliana, another Dark Mage who summoned the arm of an Evil God, wielding the same Godslayer power,
was unable to interfere with the Magic Stone of Elmusca.
In other words, Elmusca is a god so obscure... even the Evil Gods don't know of them.
When I finished explaining, Her Highness sighed and murmured,
"If news of this spreads, it could change everything we thought we knew about the world."
And she was right.
The number of known gods changing?
That hadn't happened since the New Gods sealed away the Evil Gods.
"...So, if I understand you correctly, Mr. Ryuuji, Your enchant magic allows you to create magic stones infused with the power of gods... even ones that do not exist?"
The gravity of the situation was clearly dawning on her.
At first, she had probably only considered how this could benefit the kingdom,
but now she understood just how crucial this was as a trump card against Dark Mages.
"Yes, that's correct. I call the enchant magic that creates these magic stones Blessing. And aside from Lene, I haven't shared its principles with anyone."
I'd once discussed it with Lene, wondering if something similar could be done through alchemy,
but even my top disciple, Belle, didn't know about the Gifts I possessed.
"...As royalty, I would very much like to request you share this technique with us."
"It's far too dangerous. If the Dark Mages got wind of this, they could come up with countermeasures. I strongly advise against it."
I had expected Her Highness to ask.
And though I gently refused, it wasn't because I wanted to hoard the knowledge for myself.
The power of Gifts was simply too great.
Now, I was beginning to understand what Ferron had once told me.
"If I may, Your Highness, I agree with Mr. Ryuuji. It would be best to leave the production of these Gifts to him alone."
"...You're right. For now, we'll leave it in Mr. Ryuuji's capable hands."
It seemed even Mr. Dietrich understood how dangerous this technique was.
After a few words from his aide, His Highness relented without further objection.
This was the fourth... no, counting Mr. Dietrich, the fifth person I had shared this secret with.
That's how serious this matter was.
But while I couldn't give them the technique,
I could at least offer them this.
I reached into my magic bag, pulled out a single magic stone,
and placed it on the table.
"...And this is?"
"I've made a new one. The Magic Stone of Peul. If you'd like, you can try using this to manage your farms in the capital."
Needless to say, Her Highness was overjoyed and practically danced with excitement.
