Volume 3 Chapter 10 Surprisingly, the Heart Stops Easily
"CHESTO!"
Dodging Raiden's flailing staff, I unleashed a straight punch into my empty abdomen.
Ouch, that hurt.
This god is just as tough as he looks, with muscles bulging like crazy.
I want to boost my attack with Enchant magic first.
"Lene! Can you stop his movements!?"
"Got it!"
She must have understood my intentions because right away, Lene's voice rang out, saying "Get away!"
Right after I took a step back to distance myself from Raiden, a sphere flew from the direction where my wife was, heading towards the thunder god.
Of course, Raiden swatted the sphere away with an annoyed look, but that was a mistake.
The shockwave from the exploding sphere sent black goo flying, sealing off Raiden's right arm and down to his feet.
"W-What did you do!?"
"As you can see, I used a potion to bind his movements. No matter how powerful a summoned beast is, it can't move!"
Lene replied with a smug tone to the girl waiting behind Raiden.
It definitely looks like he can't move at all.
This is the perfect chance for me.
"In the name of Ryuuji, grant me a fragment of the power that crushes all, CRUSH!"
I used a Temporary Enchant magic that boosts my physical abilities, even if just for one attack, and got closer to <Raiden> to unleash a crushing blow.
With the powers of the <Magic Stone of Powerful Arms> and the <Magic Stone of Fyrel> boosting my strength 3fold,
there's no way even a local deity could survive such an attack unscathed.
"...Huh?"
Just when I was ready, hoping the effect of the Temporary Enchant magic wouldn't fade, my ears caught a "Zzzz" sound, and a bad feeling made me halt my attack.

"Don't worry about me, just go for it, <Raiden>!"
"Wha!? Are you out of your mind!?"

This girl, is she really planning to unleash the power of thunder in <Raiden> and drag herself into it too!?
"Lene! Aine! Get back! It's a wide-area attack──"
I turned around, but before I could finish that sentence,
my consciousness was swallowed by darkness in an instant.

"...Ryuuji! Wake up!"

I heard Lene's voice, which sounded like she was about to cry, pulling me back from the pitch-black void into reality.

Did I seriously almost die?

"...Sorry for worrying you. What happened to those guys and Aine?"
"Ms. Aine is safe. The lightning didn't reach us. That summons beast disappeared, and the girl is being revived by Ms. Aine now."

Come to think of it, I heard a loud, CRAASH! and turned around. I saw Aine pressing down on the girl's chest with all her might, over and over again.
What is she doing?
"When a heart stops, doing this...this can bring them back to life. Thanks to that, Ryuuji was saved too, right?"

Then Aine is a lifesaver──I mean, she is.
If that researcher hadn't been so careless, we wouldn't have been caught up in this mess in the first place.

"Huff, huff.... This girl... I revived her.... Ms. Lene, the medicine..."
"Yes, right away!"
Lene, called by Aine, hurried to her side, grabbing the medicine.
I'm sore all over, but I'll try to get up.
While Lene is feeding the girl medicine, she's still unconscious and shows no signs of waking up.
I was closer toRyuden, so shouldn't I have taken more damage?
"Phew... At least I gave her the medicine, so hopefully, she'll wake up soon."

Once again, Aine complained, but I ignored her and hugged Lene tightly, running my fingers through her hair.
My wife didn't seem completely against it either, judging by her expression.
...Well, I couldn't imagine a failed assassin exposing their shame indefinitely, so if I left things as they were, they'd probably end up taking their own life when they woke up.
There was definitely a chance I'd made a mistake by tying them up, but they could also bite their tongue and die.
"...Maybe I should ask Miss Suzu for help."
I decided to rely on my little sister, who had just returned from her adventure yesterday, and took the unconscious girl back with me.
