"Ugh, ggaaah!"
A brutal shock surged from 'something' embedded in my back, crashing against my mind like wild waves, forcing me to my knees as I screamed.
I quickly reached around and yanked out the 'something.' As expected, it was that golden needle laced with the magic crystal.
Even after pulling out the needle, the shock didn't subside.
The magic crystal had already begun to consume my body.
Damn it, I was too careless!
"Oh dear, it's because you were so focused on what's in front of you that this happened. You didn't notice this little one behind you at all. I was really struggling to hold back my laughter."
"Le...Lene...?"
As I looked up and turned around, I found Adiliana had somehow appeared, embracing Lene from behind and wrapping a hand around her cheek.
Lene, on the other hand, didn't react at all.
I see, Lene wasn't just absent.
She had been here from the very beginning.
Hiding thanks to Adiliana's command using her Spirit magic.
It was her who had sneakily stolen the <Magic Stone of Diamond> from my unguarded waist and pierced my back with that needle.
Still, what on earth is this shock?
If I let my guard down, it feels like I might lose consciousness.
No, if I do, it would be the end──I'd turn into that fiend in no time.

I was desperately trying to think of a way to get through this situation while keeping my consciousness afloat, but it felt hopeless.

Sure, my magic stones were weaker compared to Lene's medicines, but I doubted I had anything that could counteract the magic crystal's effects.

"Still... hehe, as expected of that person's little sister. You've done a splendid job," Adiliana said, a teasing smile on her lips.
Adiliana, her cheeks flushed with excitement, leaned in and whispered softly into Lene's ear, her demeanor wholly different from just a moment ago.
...That person?
Little sister?
Does that mean someone who's her superior is around?
And could that be Lene's brother or sister?
"Rest assured, Lady Lene. You are that person's beloved little sister, after all. There's no way you'll turn into a monster. No, no, it'll just be this enchanter, Ryuuji~."
Adiliana seemed quite thrilled about something.
From her enthusiasm, it was clear she was infatuated with this 'person.' I couldn't help but wish she would stop fixating on me as a bonus.
"Enchanter, Ryuuji..."
At that moment, Lene muttered my name, almost as if sleep-talking.
Adiliana didn't seem to notice, continuing her chatter.
Suddenly, I heard a clatter behind me.
When I turned to look, I saw... was that an orb, like the one we encountered back in Cattle Village?
Why is it here?
Could it be that this orb is affecting Lene somehow?
No matter how much I think about it, there's nothing I can do.
There's nothing else I can do!
"Woah!"
Letting out a roar, I grabbed Orb and hurled it with all my might toward the distant wall.
Enhanced by the Magic Stone of Powerful Arms, my arm strength propelled Orb forward, causing it to shatter upon impact with the wall.
"Wha...?"
Unaware of the Orb at her feet, Adiliana gasped in shock at the sight of the scattered remains.
Judging from her reaction, there must have been some kind of setup.
"Ugh..."
Because I strained my strength, my resistance to the magic crystal's shock was lacking.
Taking advantage of this, the shockwave engulfed my consciousness, trying to dye me in the golden hue of the fiend.
So this is it, I guess.
Seeing her brother transformed into a fiend... will my sisters cry?
And will Lene manage to revert back and escape from Adiliana before me?
With my fading awareness, as I thought about such things, I closed my eyes and surrendered to the shock──
"Mmm!?"
Just then, my lips were sealed──
And something was poured into me.
