Volume 1 Chapter 46 At Last, He Has Arrived
"...What the...?"
I could barely even speak.
My heart was pounding looking at the scene before me.
Lene had said it smelled like fire, and when I rushed back, the fields were burned, and the people working there were knocked out.
Even the Mud Golems were destroyed.
"Minori and I will carry the injured! Lene, heal them with medicine! Suzu, can you use recovery magic? Help us out!"
I gave them instructions while they were stunned, and I started helping the injured.
First, Lana and Lene!
"Lana, Lene, what happened?"
Even though I was exhausted, I was relieved that Lana and Lene didn't look seriously hurt, but I still gently asked them, "What happened?"
"Mr. Ryuuji..., Two adventurers came, and they suddenly started burning the fields.... We tried to stop them, and the Golems tried too, but..."
She was about to cry, but she probably didn't want to show her weakness in front of her crying sister, Lene.
Lana answered weakly, clenching her jaw.
But, 2 adventurers, burning the fields...?
Could it be that a farmer who held a grudge against Lana and Lene hired them?
But, adventurers powerful enough to take down enhanced Golems wouldn't take that kind of risk, would they...?
...No, there's no use thinking about it now.
"...I see, I understand. We'll take care of the injured. Lana and Lene, go home and rest if you can stand. Leave the rest to me."
"Oh, Mr. Ryuuji.... This..."
Lana stopped me as I was about to help the injured and handed me a letter.
"...What's this?"
"Those adventurers said to give this to you when you returned..."
The letter was addressed to me.
There was no sender's name.
But I recognized the handwriting on the envelope.
It was the same writing I saw whenever I made them write the loan agreement for the magic stone.

The rescue efforts lasted until evening, but luckily, no one lost their life or suffered any lasting injuries.
We gathered the injured at my place, and they got treated with Lene's meds and Suzu's healing magic.
The folks who tried to stop that adventurer got slashed with swords, and some were badly hurt.
But it looked like they somehow recovered and managed to hang on.
Maybe they weren't out to kill.
...Still, that healing must've been divine magic.
If so, was that woman involved?
"Lene, Minori, Suzu, thanks for your hard work. I'm glad everyone's okay."
After creating another golem to protect the magic stone and heading back home, I called out to them.
But a young guy working in the fields came up to me, pissed off.
"What do you mean, 'glad everyone's okay'? It's your fault we got attacked!"
He had a point, and I couldn't say a word.
Everyone's stares felt like a punch.
They were probably calling my name over and over.
"What do you mean, it's Big Bro Ryuuji's fault?"
Minori, who had no idea what was going on, looked worried as she glanced between me and the young guy.
"This adventurer just showed up out of nowhere, shouting Mr. Ryuuji's name and setting fire to the fields! We tried to stop them, but we couldn't do anything against armed guys..."
The young guy ground his teeth as he spoke, frustrated.
Even though Lana and her crew owned the place, having your fields burned is tough for a farmer.
"Oh... that adventurer, you don't mean..."
Minori's face went pale, and I showed her the letter I got from Lana.
It just said, "Be at Orto Village by dusk in 5 days."
"This is..."
"Just like you imagined, Minori"
Minori swallowed hard, her voice trembling from her dry throat.
I answered her quietly.
Suzu behind me looked pale, like she'd been triggered.
The person I suspect the most.
Somehow, he knew I was in Sartzstadt.
"Guy burned the fields"
"........."
Minori was speechless.
She probably thought it was possible, but she never expected her location to be exposed.
I turned to everyone who had been working in the fields and bowed deeply, shrinking my large frame.
"...This time, I got you guys dragged into my personal problems, I'm truly sorry"
Everyone blinked at my sincere apology, then glared at me with harsh eyes.
"What if that happens again! Do something about it!"
"Yeah! If you're gonna cause trouble, get out!"
"Hey! You guys! That field belongs to Big Bro Ryuuji..."
It seemed like they'd reached their limit with the unreasonable accusations, so I stopped Minori from talking about the <Magic Stone of Peul>.
That would just cause more trouble.
We can't talk about that.
"...I understand your point of view... But, we're not leaving"
"Then, what are we gonna do! ...Ouch!"
I clenched my fist and shoved it towards the young man who had yelled.
He flinched and collapsed.
Shaking with fear, he pulled a pained face.
I guess this is what I need to do.
"I'll kill that adventurer──Guy. How does that sound?"
Facing my resolute words, no one dared to complain.
