Volume 6 Chapter 46 Sometimes External Fuel is Needed to Ignite the Flames

 "Well, I suppose that's true."

 "That's lovely."

Flora and Clarice, with joyful smiles, clasped their hands and looked at Madame with sparkling eyes.

Their gazes seemed to say, "Tell us all about it over tea right now," causing Madame to blush slightly and look away.

Sitting next to her was a troubled-looking Keith.

 It's understandable.

Everyone involved in the commotion was in Lucian's office reporting what happened, but during the report, Flora and Clarice became interested in Madame's romance.

Even Lucian and Cedric couldn't stop them now.

 "Madame, are you blushing?"

Flora couldn't stop grinning, and Madame replied, "No, I'm not," but she didn't seem as energetic as usual.

 Instead, she seemed almost ladylike.

Her words were those of Madame, but her actions were more like a lady.

"Grandma sure knows how to act sweet."

Randy grinned wickedly, letting out a snide comment, "Guess you're all quiet when your husband's around."

"The little boy hiding behind Lady Flora, what is he saying?"

...Just as the exasperated Madame pointed out, Randy was practically using Flora as a shield, keeping himself out of sight from both Keith and the Madame.

Everyone, including Liz and Clarice, as well as Lucian and Cedric, looked at him with disdain.

"I'm not hiding. This is a necessary...strategic positioning."

Even Liz let out a big sigh as Randy continued to smile from behind Flora.

"...Randy. Are you coming back later?"

"No way, I'm staying as Braubelg's son."

Clarice, along with Liz, grabbed Randy's arm and said, "Don't say such foolish things."

 "What about Victor?"

 "Stop it!"

Keith, with a smile, opened his mouth to Randy, who was resisting.

"Young master. If you continue to embarrass Victor, I will have to report it to the master."

Randy let out a small grunt at Keith's defiant smile.

Seeing Randy's pitiful state, Flora and Lucian asked Liz what was going on, and Liz, with an exasperated expression, recounted the whole story to her parents.

The fact that they had spied on the two's secret meeting.

The expectation that Keith would likely have some sort of punishment for it.

With such a flimsy reason, Lucian and Cedric sighed, and Flora opened her mouth, looking equally exasperated.

 "Well, that's... Randolph's fault."

Randy showed Flora a picture of the two embracing, saying, "But, we got a great shot!" with a troubled smile.

Even though it was taken through a window and in the dark, anyone who knew them would immediately recognize the two.

Rather, it might be this angle that makes it stand out.

The miracle of their reunion, blending into everyday life, seemed to indicate that no one else could interfere.

So, upon seeing such a photo, Flora happily laughed, "Oh my, oh my," and picked it up.

 "Oh wow, it's wonderful!"

With a dreamy expression, she compared the photo with both Madame and Keith.

Fully backed by the strongest ally in the room, Randy chimed in, "Right?" and wholeheartedly supported Flora.

"I thought I had forgotten. No, it was a feeling I was trying to forget."

 "Hey, boy──"

"The fire buried deep in my heart quietly ignites, transcending time."

As Randy grinned with his hand on his chest, a vein popped up on Madame's temple.

However, Flora, hearing Randy's words, seemed to be enjoying herself.

 No one could stop it.

 "Randolph is a poet."

Seeing Flora smile, Liz recalled the poem Randy had recited.

"When I was watching the two of you, I thought Randy was reciting some poetry."

"Ah, 'Waka,' huh? I saw the tatami, and it made me nostalgic for a bit of Japanese spirit."

Shrugging, Randy wrote the Waka he had composed on the back of the photo, in beautiful calligraphy, as praised by Catherine, using kana.

 "Is this in ancient language?"

Cedric tilted his head, and Randy nodded, offering brief explanations.

The term "buried fire," which originally represents a hidden flame in the ashes, is likened to feelings kept deep within the heart, hinting at a fated reunion that transcends the passage of time.

Although it was an ordinary house, it held a destiny for the two of them, crowned with their encounter.

Both Cedric and Lucian were taken aback by the meaning of such a song, exclaiming "Wow!" in astonishment.

"That's not like you, Elder Brother."

"Are you kidding? I usually just keep my abilities under wraps."

With a sly grin, Randy smiled at Clarice, who puffed her cheeks and said, "That sounds suspicious," but the knowledge he demonstrated before their eyes was unquestionably impressive.

As Randy gathered the attention of Lucian and Cedric, the remaining 2 girls were preoccupied with their own thoughts.

 "It's wonderful..."

 "Really..."

The entranced mother-daughter duo thought, "Randy really pulled it off," praising him for the poetry that captured their situation and the atmospheric photos.

With complete control of the situation, Randy flashed a grin at Keith and Madame from behind Flora and Liz.

 "That kid..."

"Calm down, Elris. The real challenge begins when we get home."

The two exchanged words and simultaneously displayed confident smiles towards Randy.

Just as Randy frowned at their unyielding demeanor, Liz reluctantly announced it was time to head home.

"Right. It's bittersweet, but Randolph and Liza have things to do."

Randy shook his head at Flora, who looked sad, saying, "No, there's nothing going on."

"If anything, I could spend time here with everyone until the new term begins──"

"Oh? You seem to have quite a bit of leeway."

It was Lucian displaying that confident smile.

"You can't mean you've forgotten our promise..."

"Oh, of course not. I remember; it's very important to me."

Randy shook his head, having never actually forgotten.

However, leaving with Keith and Madame right now wouldn't be favorable.

He understood that it would delay their progress by at least a week.

It was certain that once he got home, Randy would be pushed to his limits by Keith, leaving him unable to stand.

While Randy enjoyed training, if asked whether he wanted to be pushed to the point of collapse, he would firmly say no.

Still, he wished for at least 2 or 3 days until things cooled down... but his thoughts were shattered by Lucian's smiling face.

"As long as you remember, that's good. I'm counting on you."

With Lucian wrapping up the conversation, the flow toward heading home became inevitable.

Even so, in a desperate attempt, Randy opened his mouth, "Your Excellency, speaking of which..." the moment he began to speak,

 "Kid. You're being awfully persistent."

"Young master. You mustn't trouble Your Excellency, the Marquis, any further."

Madame and Keith both firmly grabbed Randy by the arms.
