Volume 6 Chapter 45 Two Fires Buried

Randy and Liz teleported to the magistrate's mansion in the new town, where the town mayor greeted them with a surprised expression.

"Sorry to startle you," Randy said with a wry smile.

Almost immediately after Randy explained they were looking for Keith, Keith appeared at the door, which opened silently.

 "As expected."

"Ms. Elizabeth's magic is easy to read."

Apparently, the magical power still had a strong presence, making it detectable before she appeared, unlike Ellie.

"You're the only one who can tell," Randy sighed.

With a serious look, Randy said, "More importantly..."

 "Madame's in a pinch."

 "A pinch...?" Keith frowned.

Randy explained that Madame was likely still being targeted and was currently alone at her home in Heisenberg.

 "How did this situation arise?"

Seeing Keith's rare look of alarm, Randy brushed off the explanation with, "It's a long story."

In reality, Madame had dismissed her guards, and Randy had rushed to get Keith, but he didn't even want to explain that much.

Even though it was a large mansion, Madame would soon be leaving Braubelg Castle and heading into the town.

Of course, Madame was right; it was daytime, and the chances of an attack were slim, but someone being targeted couldn't just stroll around.

 "Let's get going, stat!"

 "Just a moment──"

 "Shut up. Liz, teleport us!"

Randy grabbed Keith, and Liz nodded, disappearing again with teleportation.

"I don't quite understand... Sir Keith, good luck."

They left the town mayor with a wry smile.

Randy and the others landed in the third hall.

 "This is..."

Randy pointed down the hall to Keith, who was looking around, and said, "Go on."

 "Even if you say so..."

To the hesitant Keith, Randy said, "You know," implying that Keith should remember Madame's presence and could track it down, furrowing his brows.

Randy was right; Keith was capable of that.

But Keith was still hesitant because of the past.

 "You're a man, don't make excuses──"

Just as Randy raised his voice, Sebas appeared, bowing deeply.

 "Sir Randolph, Milady. Welcome back."

Keith bowed his head, introducing himself briefly to the ever-calm Sebas.

Sebas acknowledged him lightly before interrupting to speak.

"I've assigned a few [Dark Tide] members, but there are already those tracking Madame──"

At that moment, Keith dashed out, leaving even the sound behind.

"Fast... That guy's definitely in his prime now."

Sebas looked puzzled as he asked Randy, "Is everything alright?"

"No problem. That was a nice assist."

Randy gave a thumbs-up, and Sebas exhaled softly, relieved.

 "Alright, let's go too!"

"Right──Why are you pulling out a camera?"

Liz furrowed her brows, and Randy evaded her gaze, saying, "Just felt like it."

 There was no real reason.

It was just a prank, wanting to capture Keith's embarrassing moment in a photo.

"This isn't the time for that, is it?"

Randy shook his head at the slightly annoyed Liz, saying, "It's fine."

"That guy can take down a dragon single-handedly. That's the kind of old man he is."

Randy, with a grimace, told Liz about how strong Keith was.

Liz knew Keith was one of his mentors, but it was hard to believe he was still active and strong.

 "Well, seeing is believing, right?"

Randy smiled slyly, pointing outside with the camera in hand.

 "But he will upset."

Randy, with a mischievous smile and the camera in hand, told the skeptical Liz, "It's a chance."

"A grandpa getting slapped by his grandma. You might never see that again."

Randy, with a weird *HAHAHAHA!*, petted the camera as he showed it to Luke, Abel, Harrison, and Galhart.

"Doing something like that... even if you get yelled at again, I don't care."

As Liz puffed out her cheeks, Randy proudly declared that he wasn't afraid of being scolded and couldn't play pranks.

 "So, let's go already."

"I won't be joining you in any pranks."

Randy clasped his hands together and said "Please," to Liz, who was puffing out her cheeks.

"Just in case, it might lessen my guilt if Liz was there."

Liz shook her head, saying "No" to Randy's persistent attempt to involve her in his scheme.

"But wouldn't you be curious? The reunion of the two who were long separated, that moment..."

Liz averted her gaze as Randy glanced at her.

 Liz actually wasn't uninterested.

But Liz also couldn't accept peeping.

Randy, like a demon, whispered to Liz.

"Maybe they'll even fight. But hey, if we're there..."

"No, definitely not. If they fight, we'd stop it and make Sir Keith truly understand... but no peeking!"

Randy smiled wryly at Liz, who shook her head.

 "Just blame it on Ellie."

Randy, with a wicked grin, suggested that they watch from inside and enjoy the show, assuming Ellie was with them.

Liz swallowed nervously but shook her head, saying "Ellie says 'No peeping.'"

"Oh well. I was going to buy her some Sugar Star Puffs."

 "Five?"

 "Wow, quick!"

Randy gave a wry smile as Ellie suddenly appeared, saying "Five? Alright." and nodded enthusiastically.

 "Hmm, it's settled."

 "Simple, I'm relieved."

The two with bad intentions started chasing after Keith, who was already out of sight.

"Milady. This Sebas hasn't seen or heard anything."
