Volume 6 Chapter 43 Just Teleporting All the Time
Randy and his companions obtained Madame's sewing box and were returning home with it.
"We'll meet up here──"
Julius and Livia waved at them.
The two, originally from the town near the cliff and assisting those from the Church, seemed to have more work to do here for a while.
"The next time we meet will be at the start of the new semester?"
"If it weren't for my brother's actions, the transfer issue would have been settled".
Julius gave a wry smile, and both Randy and Luke could only manage strained expressions.
Although the kingdom had acknowledged Julius's transfer, it was uncertain how things would unfold if the empire invaded.
It was a joke that wasn't funny at all, but Randy, as if remembering something, leaned closer to Julius and whispered,
"By the way, your attendant...the Second Sword Saint (Livia) belongs to the imperial army, right?"
"Yeah. That's right."
Randy and Julius almost simultaneously turned to look at Livia.
Livia slightly raised an eyebrow and tilted her head at their gazes.
Randy and Julius hastily averted their gaze.
"What's wrong?" Livia narrowed her eyes, but Randy and Julius could only shrug and say nothing.
"Are you alright?"
"I think so. Livia is under the command of Big Bro Ragnar... the eldest brother, but all I hear are stories about his difficult personality."
Julius sighed, but in Randy's opinion, Julius seemed to be listening to what he was saying.
Randy pointed that out, but Julius merely evaded the topic.
Livia puffed out her cheeks significantly at Randy and Julius, who were still acting suspiciously.
"Julius, you and Randol are both so rude!"
"Who's Randol? At least say the h!"
"As long as you know who I mean, it's fine!"
Livia, who laughed mischievously, received a sigh mixed with a smile from Randy, who felt there was no other choice.
Indeed, it was hard to believe that someone with Livia's personality could be involved in the imperial army's conspiracy.
(She might be naive in her character... but it doesn't mean I can ignore this──)
"Don't worry."
Luke patted Randy's shoulder.
"What are you──"
"Don't worry. No matter what happens, I'll be here for Hartfield."
Randy smiled despite the serious tone of his words at Luke, who confidently pounded his chest.
Luke had declared to take charge, so there was no need for Randy to say anything further.
"With Lucas, Julius, and Livia here, we're probably the strongest in the continent right now!"
Randy swallowed the words, "That's the problem with you," as Livia smiled, instead offering up a teasing grin.
"Say that after you beat me."
With a mischievous look, Randy continued that he would be ready to face them once the commotion was over.
Moreover...
"Three against one is fine!"
Julius responded with intrigue to Randy's endlessly arrogant attitude.
"That's quite the confidence. It's quite presumptuous of you."
"If you think so, then come at me with the intent to die."
Waving his hand playfully, Randy said goodbye to Julius and the others, assuring them he would be waiting.
His typical, somewhat reluctant encouragement brought a smile to Liz, while Cecilia and Catherine sighed and exchanged glances.
With everyone promising to reunite with Julius and Livia, Randy and the others teleported back to Hartfield's capital.
Welcoming the 6 who returned to the capital was Annabelle, who had filled in for Catherine during her absence these past 2 days.
Completely closing up the gap left by Catherine, Annabelle diligently reported everything that had happened in the [Cave of Saint] to Randy, who looked somewhat apologetic.
"Sorry. We might end up causing damage to the Church once again."
Annabelle hurriedly shook her head as Randy lowered his head, saying, "It's fine, it's fine."
"Well, they might not understand something difficult, but it certainly seems that the Saintly Lady is being given too much responsibility when thought about."
As a symbol of the Church, a place of refuge for the people, and with an unclear mission as a Saint.
They spoke of how curious it was that, despite being an abstract and difficult concept, no one had questioned it until now.
(Is it because of Annabelle, or has the influence of the cave already diminished?)
They did not know which it was, but for now, Randy bowed his head once more, offering an apology to his pure friend.
"If there's anything inconvenient for the Church, please let me know. I will cooperate as much as possible."
"W-well, we are already receiving cooperation regarding the acceptance of believers."
Annabelle shook her head with a gentle smile.
The truth was, despite Catherine's notorious misdeeds, she was starting to be recognized as a Saint among her followers.
"It's not about some vague concept set by who-knows-who. From now on, Lady Catherine will be the one to build the image of a Saint from scratch—so there's no problem at all."
With a bright smile, Annabelle turned to Catherine and added, "Right?"
Catherine, not entirely displeased, gave a small nod. "Y-Yeah, I guess so."
"...Honestly, doesn't Lady Annabelle seem more like a Saint than you?"
At Randy's words, everyone except Catherine and Annabelle nodded vigorously in silence.
"What do you mean! And even Leon too!"
As Catherine shouted, Leon calmly soothed her with his usual response of "Okay, okay."
Against that backdrop, Randy turned back to Luke and Cecilia.
