Volume 6 Chapter 42-2 if You Can't Take Them, Just Bring Them Instead

Volume 6 Chapter 42-2 if You Can't Take Them, Just Bring Them Instead

Randy watched his companions, their faces alight with joy, as Liz recounted the intense battle they had fought within the cavern.

"However, they destroyed the fake goddess, so shouldn't the cave be a problem?"

Liz quickly explained to Randy, who tilted his head in confusion, that it wasn't something that would be resolved immediately.

Ellie theorized that the cave was a place that gathered concepts and then expelled them.

She believed that by defeating the concept this time, the cave had lost its ability to expel concepts, but the concepts that had permeated people's hearts wouldn't completely disappear.

"Perhaps changing those concepts is the future of Lady Catherine and Church?"

The journey ahead seemed long, but Randy couldn't shake the feeling that Catherine would overcome it quickly.

He also mused that perhaps, amidst the scattered concepts, the Saint's image already ingrained in people's hearts was starting to fade.

"It's not that I think Church will be angry..."

After all, Saint was an object of faith.

Destroying that concept would undoubtedly be a grievance for Church, but perhaps the era of placing all the burden on Saint was coming to an end.

"So, what did Randy and the others do inside?"

Liz tilted her head at Randy, who simply nodded.

"There's something you need to see."

As Randy grabbed Liz's hand and approached the cave, right as Liz reached the entrance, it once again shimmered with its marbled pattern.

Moreover, the pattern that slipped through Randy's arm was undoubtedly excluding him.

"Looks like the system is still active."

Randy raised an eyebrow at Liz, realizing that the system which only allowed Saint-like women to enter was still in place.

They decided to step away from the entrance for a moment.

"What should we do? I wanted to show you a teleportation gate."

Randy tapped the ground with his shoes, then a mischievous grin spread across his face.

"Miss Catherine, could you please create another entrance?"

"An entrance? Sure, why not? They won't be coming in anyway."

Once the system completely shut down, it was just a cave.

Connected from a slightly different location, it had no impact.

Encouraged by Catherine's words, Randy slowly lowered himself to the ground with a "Alright."

 "*Inhale*."

As Randy slowly took a deep breath, Luke hurriedly shouted, "Hey, wait──" while pulling Cecilia away from the cliff.

"You idiot, Randy! If you blast here, we're all buried alive!"

Looking up at the high cliff, Randy responded, "I suppose so," to Luke's raised voice.

If they didn't pierce the cave correctly, the cliff might collapse and swallow up this entire area.

Having encountered similar situations before, this was a place they should retreat from calmly.

Randy and Luke, being experienced, were fine, but Liz, Cecilia, and Catherine were definitely out of their league.

Randy, stopped from creating another entrance, grumbled in frustration while crossing his arms.

If Liz got close to the entrance, she would be thrown to the other side.

Yet, they couldn't widen the entrance.

However, Randy was eager to see something resembling a teleportation gate.

If they could decipher it, there was a chance it could solve Clarice's transportation issues.

A device that could transport a person in an instant.

Its use as his sister's commuting method was typical of Randy.

But in Randy's mind, the teleportation gate was like a dream, the pink door he had seen.

"I'm not really feeling up to it... but I guess there's no choice."

He let out a resigned sigh, and for a brief moment, everyone tilted their heads, wondering, "Did he give up?"

 "Luke, give me a hand."

 "A hand with what?"

"What do you think? We're gonna pull out the gate and bring it back."

Julius tried to stop Randy with a "Wait, wait," but Randy wouldn't halt.

Pulling Luke and Julius along, Randy disappeared into the cave once more.

 "Pull out the gate?"

 "Exactly that."

Although it was on the smaller side, it was large enough for a person to pass through.

Additionally, it had a sturdy construction that could also support the gate.

"It's not like it's being used now, right?"

"I don't know. We just don't understand the power source..."

With a bitter expression, Julius spoke about the undeniable lack of energy coming from the gate, even though he couldn't discern any signs of activity.

"So it's safe to say it's not in use, right?"

Randy, who cracked his neck, asked Luke to help him create a foothold.

He used magic to raise the area directly beneath the gate where they could pass through.

When Randy stood on the elevated spot, his trapezius muscles would make contact with the stone at the top of the gate.

"As expected of Luke. That's perfect."

Randy, grounding himself, focused his energy, saying, "Alright, here we go."

He carefully and slowly applied his strength to avoid damaging the gate.

Almost immediately, the sound of cracking began to echo through the cave, as if the rock were splitting.

"This isn't causing the gate to break, is it?"

"It's fine. For now, it's just the foundation."

 "Okay."

From Julius's perspective, it was far from "okay."

He couldn't believe they were attempting to extract an ancient and valuable magic tool without any specialized knowledge or tools, relying solely on brute force.

Moreover, it was actually close to being extracted.

Unaware of Julius's concerns, Randy exclaimed, "Got it!" and fully lifted the gate.

 ──THUD!

With a resounding thud, the gate was raised along with a small foundation still attached to its base.

Laughing at their success, Randy had Julius and Luke help him carefully carry it out of the cave to avoid any collisions.

"Did you really pull it out?"

"Huh? What's that? It looks familiar somehow..."

Catherine, holding her head in confusion, seemed to remember a large hollow that matched the foundation they had just extracted.

Ignoring Catherine, Randy tapped the gate and said to Liz, "So, what do you think of this?"

"It certainly looks like a teleportation gate..."

After observing the gate for a moment, Liz pointed to the sky, which was already beginning to darken.

"That's true. Still, we should head back for now."

Nodding at Randy's words, Liz stored away the teleportation gate into thin air.

Now, having come to retrieve Madame's sewing box, Randy and the others, with what seemed to be the fruits of a teleportation gate in hand, returned to the nearby town with Liz's teleportation, their spirits high.

 "Staff... ruins... ugh, my head—"

Leaving only Catherine's mumbling behind at the bottom of the cliff.
