Volume 6 Chapter 33-2 I'm Seriously Surprised That Her Family Is Rich

Randy's excitement got the better of him, so currently he's in training clothes.

Randy usually wears casual clothes or training attire for his activities.

The main reason is that they're easy to move in, but the biggest factor is that they're cheap.

Since he tends to ruin clothes easily, he tries to avoid spending too much, settling for regular clothes that commoners wear, or sturdy training gear.

Still, he makes an effort to dress somewhat neatly in casual clothes, like a shirt and slacks... but today, unfortunately, Randy is in training wear.

He secured a large, thick tunic with a belt, paired with black boots and pants that don't show dirt easily.

Over the tunic, he wore a black tabard.

With his sleeves rolled up, his complete look for training is far too out of place in this white marble palace.

"It looks pretty normal at Victor, though..."

Liz scratched her cheek with a wry smile.

In fact, as Liz said, at Victor, Randy's outfit is either this or casual, which is treated like formal wear.

"Ah──man. I seriously wanna go home."

As Randy held his head in his hands, Liz and Sebas smiled, reassuring him when the long corridor finally ended, revealing a hallway with a marble floor and large windows.

After progressing through the spacious mansion for a while, Sebas knocked on a particularly lavish door.

"Master, milady and Sir Randolph, along with Lady Clarice, have arrived."

Despite not introducing themselves, Sebas smoothly mentioned Clarice's name, making Randy and Clarice acutely aware of the Marquis family's servants' level.

(Rita... must have stood out at the Marquis house.)

In Randy's mind, a rather clumsy maid is doing a peace sign.

However, behind that Rita, oddly enough, the maids from Victor are showing victory signs.

(Is it because of those guys...)

Just as Randy sighed inwardly, he heard a voice from behind the door saying, "Let them in."

Sebas turned with a smile, his face seemingly saying, "It'll be fine, right?"

Marquis chose to use frank language towards Randy and Clarice, who were technically guests.

In other words, he was saying, "Let's dispense with formalities, or make yourself at home," such thoughts were implied in his current words.

As Sebas slowly opened the door, Randy, feeling relieved inwardly, said "Excuse me" and led the way through the door.

"Your Excellency, it's been a while."

Randy bowed his head, and beside him, Liz and Clarice also showed curtsies.

"...Since the incident at the royal castle. You seem to be doing well."

Randy, smiling at Lucian's attire, bowed his head and said, "I'm honored."

"I literally flew here out of joy when I received your message."

As Randy scratched his cheek, Lucian nodded back happily.

 "I don't dislike your decisiveness."

Lucian, still smiling, interlocked his fingers on the desk, glanced at Liz and then returned his gaze to Randy, saying, "Liza..."

"Has my daughter been causing you any trouble?"

"Certainly not. We are often helped by her perspective, which we lack."

Randy, showing a smile, added that he had also received wonderful opinions from her about the town concept.

"I see. I've heard she's doing well at the academy... but I haven't had the chance to hear it from her directly."

Lucian, shrugging his shoulders, directed a reproachful glance at Liz.

It was the same as when Alan said to Randy, "You haven't reported."

The fact that neither of them had reported to their parents at all────Randy hadn't told anyone────made Liz blush slightly.

 "F-father. Elizabeth is home now."

As Liz desperately changed the subject, Lucian and Randy exchanged glances and smiled.

"Liza. I think you could understand your father's worries a bit more."

As Lucian returned to the topic, Liz puffed out her cheeks slightly and said, "But Elder Brother is aware..."

"I want to hear it from you. That's what parents are for."

While saying that, Lucian gave Randy a meaningful smile, causing Randy to think, "That damn old man," as he clicked his tongue internally.

Without a doubt, he was snitching to Lucian about his son, saying nothing at all.

 "I'll keep that in mind."

Randy and Liz both sank simultaneously, but Lucian nodded contentedly with a "Well," and then turned his gaze to Clarice.

"Nice to meet you, Your Excellency Marquis. I am Alan Victor's daughter, Clarice Victor."

Lucian nodded with satisfaction at her splendid courtesy, looking satisfied.

"I thank you on behalf of my father and brother for your care of Victor."

Lucian smiled contentedly as he replied, "Lord Alan is right."

"With such an excellent eldest daughter, Victor is secure."

 "I am humbled."

Clarice bowed deeply, while Lucian looked delighted.

Seeing the smile behind them, Randy swallowed the words he almost let slip, "What about the eldest son?"

"Now then, Lady Clarice. We still have much to discuss, but I hear you are summonsed by Madame. You will go to see her, I presume?"

"Yes. I also wanted to convey my greetings to Lady Flora on behalf of my mother."

"Very well. Liza, please guide her."

At the Marquis's words, Clarice curtsied and took half a step back.

"Then let's be on our way."

Clarice, holding Liz's hand, glanced back at Randy.

"Elder Brother. You mustn't cause any trouble for Your Excellency..."

 "Wha──"

Randy caught himself before the words escaped, simply grimacing.

After all, it wouldn't do to raise his voice in front of Lucian and say, "Who would do that!"

As Liz and Clarice disappeared, Randy let out a small sigh, turning back to Lucian as the door closed again.

 "What a reckless girl."

"A good younger sister. You must be proud."

Randy gave a wry smile in response to Lucian's boisterous laughter, saying, "Just playing around."

"Then, shall we discuss our matters?"

Invited to sit on the sofa, Randy began to talk about the new venture Lucian brought up, [Pilgrim of Truth], and Ellie's condition.
