Volume 6 Chapter 32-2 Made various Improvements While Idling. I Didn't Have Time to Write Everything Down, So Maybe I Can Write It Somewhere Someday

"Is Madame Valmoir going to meet us...?"

Surprised to the point of having the vocabulary of a 5-year-old, Clarice looked at Liz, who smiled gently and handed her the reply to the letter she sent earlier.

Behind the eagerly staring Clarice, Randy quietly explained the new town concept to his mother, Grace.

"I see. That's certainly an interesting idea."

Grace nodded happily, then shifted her gaze to Clarice, who was focused on the letter with a beaming smile.

"It's fascinating, but Clarice will be quite busy..."

Just as Grace worried, Clarice was turning 13 this year.

This meant she would finish the elementary education implemented by the Church and move on to the secondary education program dictated by the Dukedom.

Of course, Victor has a small secondary education facility, but the school is in the capital.

This would result in a back-and-forth life between here and the new town.

"Ah, if only Clarice could use teleportation..."

Randy chuckled wryly, but unfortunately, such a spell was not easily attainable.

It required a deep understanding of very complex and advanced magic theory, and it consumed a significant amount of magical power.

While Clarice had more magical power than Randy, she still fell far short of Liz or Ellie, having only an average amount typical for a magician.

Though she had the magical power necessary for teleportation, she couldn't use it repeatedly throughout the day.

Going to the town after school, doing her tasks, and coming back... that might just barely be manageable.

Of course, if she progressed in her understanding of teleportation and could digest magic theory better, she would increase her usage, but reaching that level would require practice.

"We need to figure out transportation too."

Randy scratched his head, lost in thought—until something suddenly clicked.

"Wait a sec. Wasn't Clarice supposed to go to Rivernant's integrated school?"

Rivernant was even farther away, which meant a much longer commute.

"She said she preferred staying local."

 "Huh. Is that so."

Not long ago, before Liz came into the picture, Clarice had been dead set on leaving home for Rivernant. She'd been determined. But somewhere in the last six months, something had changed.

"Well, she's smart. She'll do just fine wherever she goes."

 "Unlike someone else we know."

Grace's teasing remark landed a critical hit.

 "Guh—!"

Randy's face twisted as he swallowed his words.

When it came to grades, there was absolutely no counterargument he could make.

Just as their conversation wrapped up, a bright voice cut in.

 "Mother!"

Clarice turned to Grace, her eyes sparkling.

"Go on now. And don't forget your manners with the Marquis."

With her mother's encouragement, Clarice nodded enthusiastically.

 "Yes!"

Then, without hesitation, she grabbed Liz's hand.

 "Let's go, Elder Sister!"

Before Liz could respond, Randy crossed his arms.

 "Yeah, yeah. I'm coming too."

At Randy's words, Clarice showed a puzzled expression, asking, "Elder Brother too?"

It's understandable; Clarice hasn't been told yet about the concept of town.

The concept is essential for Clarice and Madame.

While assessing the compatibility between the two, Randy should indeed bow his head to Madame.

Naturally, it would make sense for Lord Alan to go, but bringing Alan along would be quite challenging.

Thus, Randy will be going as a representative of his father.

However, he still can't tell Clarice about that fact.

After all, he can't let Clarice get her hopes up based on just a concept.

Therefore, Randy needs a reason for accompanying her...

"You'll be relying on me even for a little while. I need to greet His Excellency and Marchioness Flora on behalf of the old man."

With a sigh, Randy explained that there were also discussions regarding the current projects he was running and various other matters.

None of this is a lie.

In fact, he hasn't seen Lucian or Flora for a while and thinks greetings are necessary.

And the first business he launched, the carriage modification, also had the engineers he hired realize the 'compressed coil spring'.

He also wanted to discuss the new lineup of skincare products they were developing.

Likely the first thing Flora latched onto was the improved hair oil.

So-called shampoo and conditioner-dear, Randy had no image or knowledge of them, but Catherine filled in the gaps and made prototypes between other tasks.

The opinions of high-ranking noble ladies like Liz and Cecilia were, of course, good, as were those of Catherine, the former modern high school girl, and Rita, the commoner representative.

However, what was lacking was the evaluation from more mature noblewomen.

The age when hair starts to lose its volume and elasticity, and also the age when they spend the most money.

Since the damage care needed varies by age, he'd already been having the Victor women help with the prototypes, but he still wanted the opinions of noblewomen, especially high-ranking ones.

Besides that, there was also the concept of reviving beauty instead of just maintaining it.

Namely, a more expensive and appealing beauty product with wrinkle-improvement effects.

Catherine had told him that such products existed in modern Japan, and he was currently working on a concept for one.

He didn't understand the ingredients at all, but with the help of Cory, the beast expert, he was starting to see some direction.

The new town concept was a fashion-forward town where designers gathered, but he wanted to make the beauty industry just as thriving, aiming for a synergistic effect between personal beauty and clothing beauty.

So, the opinion of Marchioness Flora, the high-ranking noblewoman, was definitely something to consider.

As Randy rambled on, his mother Grace looked at him with narrowed eyes and said, "Ah, so I was the guinea pig."

"Mother, you're using the top-of-the-line products."

Randy returned the narrowed gaze, and Grace smiled back and said, "Ah, so it is."

Grace's beautiful red hair, already radiant, seemed to shine even more.

 "Then... I'm coming with you."

 "...Understood."

Clarice said something reluctantly, and Randy smirked, "Don't get too excited."

"I'll keep an eye on Elder Brother to make sure he doesn't cause trouble, Mother."

Clarice scowled at Randy, who snorted, "I'll turn you around."

Liz chuckled, "What a pair of stubborn siblings. Well, shall we be off?" She addressed the two.

 "Let's go then."

 "Mother, I'm leaving."

Liz, waving goodbye to Grace and the two, raised her staff and teleported... When the light subsided, the 3 were gone.

"...Well then. Time to shower Cecil with affection for a while. She'll grow up so fast."

As Grace left the room, she remembered the children's happy faces and smiled.
