Volume 2 Chapter 17 Stone Diviner Apprentice, Realizes It Will Not Be Resolved

 It's a girls' night!

I'm feeling excited since this morning.

Today, the attendees are Ms. Natalia, Ms. Parsley, Ms. Percella, and me.

I was wondering if Rudger would come since Ms. Parsley is here, but he seems busy with work.

He used to be just a guy who loved yakisoba bread, but now he's a Duke.

So, I've decided to leave Rolus behind today.

Rolus looked a bit unhappy, but he agreed once I asked him to drop me off.

The venue for the girls' night is a stylish and cute café located on town street.

By the way, it's near the café where Mister Eliseo's crush works.

I'd like to let everyone know on nano if I get the chance.

 That's Mister Eliseo's crush, I think.

Despite not being related to Attack Magic, it seems Ms. Natalia, Ms. Parsley, and Ms. Percella know about Mister Eliseo.

 "Lady Elena!"

I heard someone call my name right next to the café.

This voice belongs to Ms. Natalia.

It seems Ms. Natalia was the first to arrive.

"Well then, I'll head back for a bit."

 "Okay, see you later, Rolus."

I waved my hand slightly, and Rolus smiled softly as he walked back the way he came.

 "Oh, is Mr. Rolus leaving?"

"Yes, it's a girls' gathering after all."

When I said that with a laugh, Ms. Natalia grinned back at me.

"It's been a while since the 4 of us gathered."

"That's true! I wonder how many years it's been."

I believe it was around our third year in school.

Back then, we also gathered at a cute café, and Rolus drove us there.

It was because he didn't want us to wander off alone.

It seems like neither Rolus nor I have changed in all these years.

 "...Four years? Five years?"

As I watched Ms. Natalia counting on her fingers, a familiar voice called out from behind me.

It's Ms. Parsley and Ms. Percella.

 "Thanks for waiting!"

We thought we had all become adults after graduating from school, but gathering like this makes it feel like we're back in our student days.

We can't help but act a bit childish, giggling and squealing.

While chatting happily, we enter the café and place our orders.

Then, with everything set on the table, a moment of silence falls.

Everyone has a lot to talk about.

So we went quiet, thinking about who should start the conversation and what topic to choose.

At times like this, it's always Ms. Natalia who breaks the silence.

"Oh, I finally set the date for my wedding party!"

Ms. Natalia eagerly hands out the invitations to everyone.

"...You've decided who you're marrying, huh?"

"Yes, it took a while, though."

At my words, Ms. Natalia gives an awkward smile.

She had received marriage proposals from various places, and narrowing it down to 2 took a long time.

She honestly didn't care which one it would be.

"You were unsure which one to choose, weren't you?"

At Ms. Parsley's words, Ms. Natalia slowly nods.

"In the end, I decided on the one my father said, 'I think I can trust him with you.'"

That one phrase made me feel the weight of her father's struggles.

"What about the wedding party for Ms. Parsley and Rudger?"

Although Ms. Parsley and her side decided on marriage first, the party hasn't been held yet due to Rudger's schedule.

"It seems it'll be a bit longer."

"I see──will it still be a fancy party then?"

Even though he's now a duke, he was originally a prince from a neighboring country.

I thought so at first, but maybe it won't be so extravagant after all.

"He said he doesn't want it to be too showy."

 That sounds like Rudger.

He's probably the type who would be just fine if he could eat a yakisoba bread.

Then, our eyes turned towards Ms. Percella.

Although I received a letter saying she was anxious, I hadn't had the chance to talk with her since then.

"I'm the only one who hasn't even decided on marriage yet, huh?"

 It was a small voice.

"Ms. Percella, didn't you say there was someone you liked in the past?"

When I asked, she tilted her head slightly.

"Yes. But it seems that while I was dithering, they ended up getting married to someone else."

 Seriously?!

...Wait, does that mean that there's still a chance for that person who fell for Ms. Percella the other day?

"So, I was a bit gloomy about it, but my parents, seeing me like that, must have misunderstood and thought I was really depressed..."

...So she was gloomy, but not actually depressed, right?

If she wasn't depressed, then that's fine, I guess.

"But my parents are worried that I might not be able to get married, and they seem a bit anxious, which got me somewhat anxious too."

I know quite a few great catches, but I'm not sure how to bring it up...

And besides, they are a bit older than me...

"...But I'm scared. About getting married."

 "Hm?"
