(Cino's Side)
Time rewinds a bit....
After Zeke headed to the Dragon Kingdom of Sky Fosia.
Zeke's sister, Cino, working in the Demon Lord's realm, let out a sigh, her breath heavy with worry.
"Big brother..."
Knock, knock, the door sounded.
"Cino"
"Chippy..."
Chippy, in human form, appeared with a tray.
Looking at the pile of documents, Chippy sighed.
"Why don't you take a break?"
Chippy probably sensed what was on my mind.
That's why she suggested I rest.
I felt a mix of guilt for causing her concern and joy at her kindness.
"Yeah, you're right."
Chippy set cookies and tea on the table.
Cino picked up a cookie and said...
"These are delicious."
"I'm glad!"
...The crisp texture, combined with the sweetness of wheat and sugar, made them incredibly tasty.
"Did you make these?"
"Of course!"
"You've really improved at cooking."
It used to be terrible.
There was even a time when she put a mouse in Zeke's lunch box (not as a prank, since dragons eat mice).
But since then, Chippy has worked hard.
Now, she can make things that humans find delicious.
And in there, I can taste Chippy's love for Zeke... it's amazing.
"Hey, Cino. You're lonely, aren't you?"
"...You saw right through me."
"How many years do you think we've been together?"
Chippy is a dragon that Zeke found.
My brother raised Chippy from when she was a young dragon.
But it wasn't just my brother who was there; I was there too.
So, when Cino feels cornered, she starts focusing on other things (like work or study)....
That's why Chippy said what she did earlier.
And she was exactly right.
"...I miss my brother."
Cino deeply loves her brother.
She really doesn't want to be apart from him at all.
But... she doesn't want to join her free-spirited brother.
She can't be a burden or act selfishly.
Chippy let out a sigh of exasperation....
"Let's go to the bath."
"Huh?"
"Come on!"
Chippy took Cino's hand and they went outside.
In the Demon Lord's country, Zeke had built a hot spring where both humans and beasts could enter freely.
"It's no wonder you've been so stressed! Let's go soak in the onsen and unwind!"
"Chippy..."
As women who loved the same man, the two of us had once been at odds.
But... over a long time, we had made peace.
Instead of clashing or fighting, we could now support each other.
To have someone like that... was a happy thing.
It was a wonderful thing.
"Chippy, thank you."
"You're welcome!"
