Volume 4 Chapter 5 Larc, the Long-Awaited Merchant's Return
One day, in a bustling border town, merchant Larc arrived.
"Mr. Zeke! Long time no see!"
"Larc, huh. It really has been a while."
A carriage materialized just outside the castle walls.
"Sorry, I've been swamped lately and couldn't properly greet you."
"No worries! I figured you were busy. I never imagined you'd take down the Majin Legion... That's incredible!"
So, he knows.
I never made my battle with the majin public, but Larc has always had sharp ears.
"By the way, Larc."
"Yes?"
"You look... more put together."
His carriage gleamed with luxury, a stark contrast to the modest one he used to ride.
Gone were the days he traveled alone—now, a whole team of merchants accompanied him.
And pulling his grand cargo?
An earth dragon.
"Thanks to you, Mr. Zeke, my business has been booming!"
Industrial goods, artificial Mana Crystals—products from my country that Larc now buys and resells.
"I even moved into a big mansion with my bride!"
"...Wait. You got married?"
"Yes! And it's all thanks to you! I can't thank you enough!"
I blink.
He's younger than me... and already married?
"Is it normal to settle down at this age...?"
Larc tilts his head. "Do you have any marriage plans?"
"Ah, no. Not really."
"Really? I thought you were already tied to Lady Cino or Lady Chippy."
"...No, no. Chippy is an earth dragon. And Cino is my sister."
Larc furrows his brows. "So? My bride's a beastman. Marrying across races is normal."
...That may be true, but putting aside Chippy, marrying my actual blood-related sister is a bit—
"Wait. Lady Cino isn't related by blood, is she?"
Before I can answer—
"STOP!"
A sudden flash—Cino teleports in, cutting Larc off.
"Sir Larc! Hahaha! Welcome! Tea is served! Brother, don't just stand there like an idiot—bring him in!"
"Uh—right."
She's talking fast. Too fast.
What... just happened?
