Volume 4 Chapter 24 Investigating the Big Hole
I received a request from the village chief of the dwarves to investigate a big hole.
A few days later, I headed to the site.
It seems the big hole is located within a mine owned by the dwarves.
Ena guided me along the way to the mine.
"Is this it?"
There was an entrance to the mine nestled in the mountains near the town.
The entrance was the only spot where the snow had melted, despite the heavy snowfall around it.
"Wow, that smell is awful... it's making my nose curl."
"This miasma is what's producing the Black Beasts, right, big brother?"
After that, I examined the blood I collected from the Kraken.
I found that it contained the same components as those collected from all over the country.
That's the black smoke and miasma drifting from the big hole.
"It's a substance that's extremely harmful to humans. We need to purify it immediately."
"Can't we purify it from outside with the Right Hand of Divine Magic?"
"No, that won't work. The miasma is coming from quite deep underground."
"I see, we have to deal with the source directly, huh?"
In other words, we need to go to the source and treat it.
"Alright, let's go. Thanks for the guidance, Ena. You can stop here."
The dwarf girl shook her head seriously and raised her voice.
"I want to go with you too!"
