Volume 3 Chapter 41 The Former Demon Lord Gets Motivated
After finishing the matter with Ruzzel, I returned to the Demon Lord country.
First, I headed to see the former Demon Lord.
I informed him that I had dealt with the New Demon Lord Army and that the situation had come to a close.
"Zeke, I've caused you trouble. Thank you."
The former Demon Lord bowed his head while lying on the bed.
He had been down lately and could not move from the bed.
"No, it's I who have caused trouble. I had no choice."
Ruzzel was an irredeemable villain.
He massacred many people using majin for his own convenience.
But for the former Demon Lord, no matter how much of a villain he was, he was still a son.
If he was killed, it wouldn't leave him with good feelings.
"It was I who requested your assistance with the subjugation. You need not worry."
"I see..."
"I am truly sorry for leaving the cleanup of my foolish son to you."
"Don't worry about it. It's my duty as the Demon Lord that I inherited from you."
The former Demon Lord said with a peaceful expression.
"Thank you, Zeke. With this, I can leave without any regrets."
Holding his hand, I said,
"Isn't that a bit early?"
"What do you mean?"
I used teleportation and went outside the Demon Lord castle.
While flying, I looked down.
"Demon Lord! Demon Lord! Demon Lord!"
There were the demonkin who had followed Ruzzel.
"I'm sorry for betraying you!"
"I will turn over a new leaf and work hard!"
"Please forgive us!"
Hearing the words from the demonkin, the former Demon Lord looked at me in confusion.
"Ruzzel's former subordinates have decided to live here. But I don't know their faces, names, or skills. So, please help me guide them."
"But..."
"To begin with, they're your subordinates, right? Leaving them behind to end your life is pretty irresponsible, don't you think?"
I just wanted him to feel a little better.
Dying like this is too pitiful for him.
So, I wanted to give him a purpose in life.
"You're right. It's too irresponsible to just leave like this."
The former Demon Lord nods quietly.
"Leave gathering the Demonkin to me."
"Sure, I'm counting on you."
He smirks and says with admiration.
"You really save not just bodies but hearts too. You're quite a man, as expected of Zeke."
Thus, the commotion raised by Ruzzel and the New Demon Lord Army came to a close.
