I had completely defeated the Demon Lord's child, Ruzzel.
Now, I returned to the deserted island where the New Demon Lord Army had gathered.
Despair filled the air.

The Demonkin knelt, trembling. Their will to fight was already gone.
I exhaled.
"There's no need to cry."

"The battle's already decided. I'm going home now."
A hesitant voice spoke up. "W-Will you... spare us?"

Silence.
The Demonkin exchanged glances. Then, as one, they dropped to their knees, heads bowed.
"""We, the Demonkin, swear absolute loyalty to the Demon Lord!"""
I blinked.
"Oh... is that so...? Wait, huh?"
W-What? Why are they looking at me like that? Do they... want to join me?
A representative stepped forward.
"Is that not okay, Demon Lord?"
I hesitated.
"No... it's not that it's not okay. Well... I guess it's fine."
"Oooooh!!"
A cheer erupted from the Demonkin.
"What a merciful ruler!"
"Not only did he spare us, but he even accepted us into his ranks!"
"We will follow the Demon Lord for life!"
...These guys were originally traitors who turned on the previous Demon Lord.
But after witnessing that level of power, they wouldn't dare resist now.
"Well then, shall we go home?"
I took the Demonkin with me, soaring into the sky. The deserted island shrank below us.
Then—
"Oh, right. That place had a research facility, didn't it?"
I raised my Right Hand of Divine Magic and swung.
A torrent of light erupted, engulfing the island in an instant.
BOOM.
The New Demon Lord Army's base? Gone.
I dusted off my hands.
"Alright, let's go home—wait, what's wrong with you all?"
The Demonkin let out a collective sigh of relief.
"I'm so glad to be with the Demon Lord!"
"I completely understand now! YOU are someone we should NEVER make an enemy!"
"Truly, the Demon Lord is incredible!"
...Not sure why they're this relieved, but okay.
I teleported us back to Demon Lord territory.
The moment we arrived—
