Volume 21 Chapter 6 Administrator Privileges
'Is it access rights? Maybe it has to do with the security system or golems. Either way, this is quite a stroke of luck.'
As Al pondered what the Administrator Privileges Certificate (license card) could be, Glee voiced her thoughts.
It was there for a reason.
It might manage access to the room or be used for maintenance of the security golems and devices.
It certainly seemed highly likely.
"So, should we use this to re-enter the room? Do you think we can get to the third floor too?"
'Let's give it a try. First, let's head to the second floor.'
After Al finished collecting all the Magic Tools in the room into his Magic Bag, he believed in Glee's words and returned through the passageway into the ceiling to stand in front of the door.
"Here we go."
While carefully holding up the Administrator license card, Al hesitantly opened the door.
"How's it looking?"
'Yeah, I'm connecting now. Whoa, this is amazing, it's the facility's administrator privileges. It seems like we can command the security devices and golems too.'
The red light of the Magic Tool pasted on the door blinked and then turned green.
'Great! They've acknowledged that we have the Administrator privileges. The door should also open now. Give it a shot.'
It appeared that access rights had been granted.
"Is it okay not to have the card?"
'Yeah, of course. Just like the Research Tower.'
If Al remembered correctly, Glee functioned as an ID and had gained administrative rights through Patricia at the Research Tower.
So, it seemed to be the same as that.
Trusting Glee's words, Al put the card back into his belt pouch and grasped the doorknob of the door with the Magic Tool attached.
He readied himself to dodge in case of an attack and turned the knob.
He cautiously peered inside.
Inside, he saw the flat face of a golem with swords for arms.
Earlier, he had seen it through the 'Floating Eye' so he hadn't noticed, but looking with his actual eyes, the face reminded him a lot of a doll golem.
It was painted a matte black, giving it the impression of a smart, humanoid doll.
Its arms were metallic tubes, with a meter-long, double-edged sword extending from each.
"I think it's alright?"
He fully opened the door and cautiously stepped inside.
The golem didn't move.
"Is it out of mana or something?"
'No. I'm getting a response... Try giving it a command.'
A command?
Hmm...
"Golems, raise your right hands."
Al said that, and the 4 golems on both sides of the room raised their sword-wielding right hands.
"Whoa, it actually understands regular speech too. Maybe I can take this back with me?"
'Since you have administrator privileges, it shouldn't be a problem.'
He didn't know how strong these golems were, but he could probably use them to protect his back or guard his base.
The guardian golems at the Research Tower were too big, so they would be a hassle to transport, but this size could fit anywhere a person could.
There are 4 of these golems.
If Glee hadn't been there to tell him right away to come out in front of the magic door, he would have probably tried to examine the magic door more closely or used an Open Lock spell to force it open, and then probably ended up fighting the golem.
If he had won, he would have had to destroy it anyway.
It was good that Glee was there.
This was a treasure in a different form than a spellbook.
"Alright, golems. Stand at attention and shut down."
The golems stood perfectly still.
They didn't move.
In that state, Al put all 4 golems into his Magic Bag.
"Was the Magic Tool on that door managing the permissions?"
'No, the Magic Tool on the door is just a terminal. The main control seems to be on the third floor. It's unusual for a control mage device of this age to still be functioning.'
Maybe we can use a Mana transmission network, or perhaps there's a mana generation device like the Research Tower?
But it's strange that the Magic Tool in the place where they were growing plants ran out of mana.
If we use a Mana transmission network, we'd need a silver sphere-shaped structure.
But when viewed from above, we didn't see anything like that.
Maybe it's a mana generation device that generates mana from solar energy?
"Let's just go to the third floor and see. There should be the same kind of door, right?"
'Yeah'
Al ascended to the third floor, cautiously.
The third-floor section was locked, just like the second floor, with a key.
After making sure there were no traps, Al used the Open Lock spell.
CLICK!
"O Goddess Ruud, give me a luck"
Al muttered as he slowly opened the door.
It was a small room with Magic Tools and a door just like the second floor.
As soon as they entered, the small red lamp on the Magic Tool turned green.
"Wow, it's authenticated?"
'Yeah, fast'
Al waited for a while, but everything seemed fine.
He approached the Magic Tool door.
Nothing happened.
As he turned the knob, the door opened easily.
Inside the room, there were 2 mage devices in the center.
One was a cube with a side length of 2 meters, and the other was a cube with a side length of 60 centimeters.
Both were covered in pipes and round needle-like meters.
Three thick pipes extended from the larger mage device to the ceiling.
And 2 golems stood guard, protecting them.
They were the same type as the 4 downstairs, with swords for arms.
And there were many magic stones scattered on the floor.
"What is this... "
If it were an ordinary Magic Tool, it would be fine to collect it and take it home, and the smaller mage device seemed manageable, but the larger one had a pipe connected to the ceiling, making it impossible to fit into the Magic Bag as it is.
However, it needs to be disconnected, but he didn't know how to do it.
'Hmm... Maybe Malachi would understand?'
Right, when they arrived at the Research Tower, Malachi had been studying the mana generation device there.
If this was similar, he might know something about it.

Al activated the ring of 'Telepathy' to have Patricia summon Malachi.
