Volume 6 Chapter 28-2 Madame Hasn't Arrived Yet...

Randy, who smiled gently, looked straight at Alan.

"Old man. You said 'give it your all,' didn't you?"

 "Yeah, I did."

Randy let out a big breath, "Hoo," as Alan nodded.

"Then I'll leave it to you."

"Of course. Who do you think we are?"

Not typical of Alan, even Randy smirked at this second tone.

 "That's right. It's Victor."

* * *

At the same time, somewhere on the continent──

 'Your Highness Leonius has arrived.'

The blond man at the desk responded shortly, "Come in."

Standing beyond the open door was Leonius, who looked just like him.

"I've come all this way, Big Bro Ragnar. However, I do have my own time constraints."

Despite calling him "brother," Leonius acted as an equal, causing the man called Ragnar to put his pen back in the holder.

"Why did you lift the surveillance on that one? Because of that, it seems he went to some rural place called Victor."

"Wasn't it you who was manipulating Julius, big bro?"

Leonius tilted his head, and Ragnar snorted, "What a blatant lie."

"So, you lifted the watch to eliminate my interference?"

With accusing eyes, Ragnar said, "Wasn't it you who assigned the Sword Saint as his guard?"

"Do you want to get in my way that much?"

Leonius shook his head at Ragnar's narrowed eyes, "Not at all."

"I'm sorry, but I can't win against you, big bro. You know that well."

"That's precisely why you intentionally involved a rural place like Victor, right?"

Leonius simply shook his head at Ragnar's glare, saying, "That's incorrect."

"Clearly, it will become a hindrance from now on. That's why I'm saying we should cooperate with the [Pilgrim of Truth] and strike together."

Leonius, not backing down an inch, said, "I'll at least cooperate on this one move," prompting Ragnar to let out a small sigh.

"If you're saying that much, you must have completed the analysis of the opponent's strength, right?"

Leonius handed a stack of papers to Ragnar with a casual "Of course."

"By the way, regarding the strength analysis... I propose using Hartfield, Victor as a decoy to attack Braubelg."

"It's different from the original plan, but... I see. We'll have Duke clash in the north, drawing attention there, while we flank from the south."

Ragnar snorted, "Not bad," looking at the proposed strategy in the documents.

"But can we really win against Braubelg with this strength?"

Leonius, meeting Ragnar's narrowed gaze, assured him, "There shouldn't be any problems. The strongest among the Four Saints of [Pilgrim of Truth], the [Shadow Swordsman], is infiltrating Braubelg."

"Hmph. Can they really take [Silver Peak] and [Azure Moon] with such a peculiar force?"

"According to the analysis, there shouldn't be any issues."

Leonius showed no change in expression, but inwardly he was completely lying.

Given their current strength, regrettably, it was a bit insufficient to breach Braubelg's stronghold.

No, there was even a risk they might get swallowed up.

But there were absolutely no issues.

After all, the goal was merely to stall.

Yet Ragnar was the one who surpassed even that.

"Since we have the signal fire, let's do it in style..."

With a sly smile, Ragnar added, "We'll deploy Lionel."

That was an imperial warrior resonating throughout other nations.

If they were to attack the kingdom, they needed to focus on [North Wall] Rolf von Waldner.

That was the level of strength required.

"Deploying the [Lion of Dawn], huh. I think it would be better to send it to Victor, though?"

Leonius, without changing his expression, replied, "But there's the second generation, right?" with another sly smile.

"Another Sword Saint, huh. Speaking of which, what about her master... Won't you deploy the first Sword Saint?"

"You know, that was a fake. I acknowledge their contribution of discovering and raising Livia, but the person themselves is just a cowardly show-off."

Ragnar snorted, and Leonius sighed quietly, "Then it can't be helped."

"The strategy is for big brot to decide, after all."

After saying that, Leonius bowed his head and left the room, saying, "Excuse me."

Once Leonius had left, Ragnar let out a small sigh.

"Honestly... that brat. I don't know what he's thinking, but no matter how much he moves, he needs to realize he's in my palm."

Ringing a bell, Ragnar summoned his strongest warrior, saying, "Bring Lionel to me──"

Meanwhile, after leaving Ragnar's room, Leonius walked down the hallway, muttering to himself.

 "As expected of Ragnar. But..."

Grinning, Leonius squinted at the sunlight streaming through the window.

"I believe in you, Victor. You guys will notice Ragnar's intentions. Ragnar and you are both capable. Exceptionally so. So... let the monsters fight each other."

Leonius, smiling happily, hid his fierce grin before a passing servant.

After being alone again, Leonius muttered.

"And come to crush my goals too. That is my aim. I'm waiting for you, [Witch of Calamity] and [Red Battle Demon]."

Leonius's smiling face was tinged with a touch of madness.

 <hr/>

*Seriously, Madame hasn't even arrived yet, and Alan is laying everything bare...*

Though there are still reasons why Leonius targets Madame and his aim, I think there will be a calm before the storm for a while from here.

Also, Big Bro Ragnar actually isn't making his first appearance, so for those with free time, please try to find where he appeared before.
