Volume 5 Chapter 52, Part 2 Muscleheads Know Muscleheads
As Randy said, many knights pass by both outside and inside the castle.
Every time someone sees Airen, they step aside and show a proper bow, which makes Randy feel quite awkward.
"Harrison. Let's do this with Victor too."
"I don't want to. It's pointless, and you'll just mess around."
Harrison frowned and lowered his voice when he turned to Randy.
"What's wrong? You look cool."
Randy pouted, and Liz gave a wry smile saying, "That's not allowed."
"I just like the vibe of that Victor."
What Liz means is that even when passing knights, they casually greet with "Oh, hey!"
When she first saw that, Liz was just surprised, but now she says that casualness is just right.
"It's fine normally, but at least when people come..."
Randy still pouted, but Harrison's logic of "Who's even coming?" knocked him out.
Leading the completely out-of-place group, Airen moved through the castle for a while... and then they heard a lively voice from afar.
As they got closer, the booming voice made everyone, including Randy, straighten their backs.
"This way──"
When Airen pushed open the large door, what spread out before them was a big stage that looked like an arena.
On the stone square stage, many knights were still training with wooden swords in hand, and the heat that seemed to melt the snow reached Randy and the others.
And...
"That's the [North Wall]."
...Beyond the fighting men, there sat a giant comparable to Randy.
With spiky ice-blue hair and a connected beard.
His thick eyebrows and deep facial features exuded an intimidating presence even from a distance.
He must have noticed Airen and Cedric.
He stood up and shouted to the knights, "Stop!"
With a voice that shook the air, the place fell silent in an instant, and all eyes turned to the front where Airen stood.
"Line up!"
With a single command, everyone stepped aside and lined up neatly.
Airen took a step onto the arena through the path they opened.
This time, everyone silently raised their wooden swords and took a knight's bow.
Without any signal, Leon and Catherine felt a bit hesitant at the overwhelmingly beautiful movements.
Encouraged by their actions, Randy and the others finally reached the man, Rolf von Waldner, the father of Airen.
"Guests, I would like to excuse you from greetings in such a shabby place."
With a quiet but heavy voice, Cedric stepped forward.
"Long time no see, Your Excellency. Cedric von Braubelg. On behalf of my father, I extend my greetings."
As Cedric bowed, not only Miranda but also Catherine, Leon, and even Liz showed a beautiful bow.
It seemed that Cedric's greeting represented everyone, but that was that.
The Victor group, slightly late, hurriedly bowed their heads.
"...I didn't hear about this."
"Me neither."
The two spoke in hushed tones, but they were still the noble heir and his guard.
Cedric hadn't mentioned it since it was so obvious, but Victor had no such common sense.
The two stood out slightly, but Marquis Rolf Waldner showed no signs of concern and turned his gaze to Cedric.
"Is the Lord Lucian in good health?"
"Yes. He mentioned wanting to share a drink with Your Excellency again."
With a smile, Rolf nodded and said, "That's good."
"Now, there are many things to discuss, but this time the main focus is not on you, but on the Saint behind you──"
Under Rolf's piercing gaze, Catherine flinched and opened her trembling mouth.
"I-I'm Saint Catherine Evans. I-I am very pleased to see that Your Excellency is in good health."
Rolf continued to stare at Catherine, who squeezed her voice out while curtseying.
For a moment, silence dominated the scene.
"Airen!"
"Yes!"
With a voice that shook the air, Airen immediately stepped forward.
"Guests have come in this cold sky. Ladies, please warm yourselves."
"Understood."
They don't understand at all, but Airen called out to Miranda, saying, "Miranda, let's take the ladies," and left the place with Catherine, Liz, and Rita.
"Now... Cedric. You have some skill with the sword, right?"
"Compared to the warriors of Waldner, it's child's play..."
Cedric showed a strained smile, and Rolf shook his head, saying, "No flattery."
"Well then, shall the men warm up with us in training?"
Rolf stood up, larger than Randy.
He was probably as big as Volcan, Randy's grandfather.
Rolf's curious gaze was directed at Randy.
"There are troublesome rumors going around... It's quicker to settle it with a fist."
Rolf laughed heartily, and Randy and Harrison felt a hint of Victor in him.
