Volume 5 Chapter 51 When Three Women Gather... It’s Written as Noisy, Right? It Will Be Lively

The atmosphere in the room froze as Airen, with a ferocious smile aimed at Catherine, made her intentions clear.

Leon stepped forward protectively in front of Catherine, sensing the obvious hostility directed at her.

"She's not 'The Witch Who Brings Ruin to a Kingdom,' she's a Saint... Can you please correct that?"

Leon stated firmly, his eyes locked on Airen. Catherine, standing behind Leon, raised her head, and said,

 "Leon, step back."

 "What are you talking about...?"

Leon turned to look at Catherine, who shook her head and said, "It's okay."

"It's true about Arthur... or rather, Sir Lance. But..."

Catherine stepped forward, her gaze unwavering as she addressed Airen.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Lady Airen von Waldner. I am Catherine Evans, bestowed with the name of a Saint."

Catherine performed a graceful curtsy, rivaling even Liz's elegance, leaving Airen impressed.

"I'm well aware that you don't think highly of me, Lady Airen. But I'm here for a purpose as a Saint, not as Catherine Evans. I hope you can understand that."

Catherine returned Airen's stare, but Randy and Liz, watching from behind, noticed Catherine's trembling shoulders.

It was understandable; Airen was a seasoned warrior.

While she wouldn't physically harm Catherine, the pressure she exuded was overwhelming for the petite Catherine.

Despite her fear, Catherine stood her ground, causing Airen to smirk.

 "How intriguing..."

As Airen took a step closer, Catherine leaned back slightly, but she held her ground and didn't retreat.

 "I've heard that you're a selfish, narrow-minded girl."

"I won't deny it," Catherine moved her trembling lips hard as she moved her face closer.

The two glared at each other for a while.

The tension between them was palpable, even more intense than the atmosphere that had previously existed between Miranda and Airen.

Amidst the charged atmosphere that could've sparked an instant conflict, Airen, with a slight smirk, burst into a hearty laugh, "Hahahahahaha!"

The tension dissipated instantly, leaving Catherine bewildered, struggling to keep up with the sudden change.

"How amusing. Rumors can be so misleading."

Airen turned back to Cedric, her face beaming with delight, "So, you're the one who brought her."

"Well, Miss Catherine is indeed the same as the rumors describe, a feisty young lady."

Cedric shrugged, to which Airen responded, "Is that so?" She turned her gaze back to Catherine.

"It's hard to say this about myself, but..."

Catherine reluctantly nodded, and began to tell a story, omitting the part about this world being a game.

She spoke of a bitter past where she did as she pleased, acting on misunderstandings, and eventually reaching the brink of becoming a fake Saint.

"I see. So, you've acknowledged your mistakes and changed your ways...?"

"Whether I've truly changed my heart, I'm not sure."

Catherine shook her head, explaining that she was still here because she wanted to follow her *desires*.

If that was considered selfish, then perhaps she hadn't changed at all.

"But... I'm grateful that there are people willing to indulge my whims. That might be the biggest change."

Catherine glanced back at Randy and Liz, who exchanged a look.

 "I see."

Airen's interest shifted to Liz and Randy.

She stared intently at Liz, then turned back to Cedric.

"So, she's the sister you always boasted about?"

"Yes, she's more precious to me than any goddess."

Liz covered her face, embarrassed by Cedric's bold statement in front of a Saint. Airen nodded, "I see," and turned her attention back to Catherine.

"I still have more to talk about with you, but I'm sure I'll always be in the way of going around here."

As Airen shrugged, she pointed out the large group gathered by the side of the castle gate.

Although they weren't blocking the way, Airen and a few Knights were surrounding them.

The onlookers were starting to show signs of impatience.

"Let's head to the mansion. My father is waiting."

Airen's smirk made Catherine's face tense up again.

"Don't worry, my father won't eat a little girl like you."

Airen burst into laughter, but an overwhelmed Catherine could only mutter, "Huh, yeah."

 "Alright, let's move out... wait."

Airen, who was giving orders, turned back to Liz with a broad smile.

"You're Cedric's sister, right? May I join you?"

 "Huh? Oh, y-yes."

Liz nodded in surprise at the unexpected proposal. The rental sleigh they had arrived in could only seat 4 people.

As Liz pondered what to do, Randy spoke up, "Harrison."

 "Let's play rock-paper-scissors."

 "Sure."

Randy, who was supposedly a noble's heir, and Harrison, his Knight, were about to play rock-paper-scissors to decide who would give up their seat.

This unusual scene left everyone except Rita and Liz stunned.

Normally, it would be either Harrison or Rita who would step down, but in this group, it was between Harrison and Randy.

And the result of the intense rock-paper-scissors game...

"We're in the middle of town, so it shouldn't be a problem. Take care of Liz and Rita."

Randy patted Harrison's shoulder, who slid into the sleigh with a smile, saying, "You're really weak at rock-paper-scissors, young master."

"I did it on purpose. I was curious about standing on a sleigh."

Randy waved nonchalantly, but his steps toward Airen's sleigh were heavy.

The sleigh had no wind protection, and standing on it would be a freezing experience.

The only saving grace was that it was a 2-person sleigh, and another Knight would stand in front of him.

Since Randy couldn't drive the sleigh, he'd have to rely on the Knight in front for wind protection.

It's no wonder Randy makes his face stiff.

 "Damn... that's──"

But Randy, the giant who is one of the best in a group of men, doesn't mean much to keep out the wind, no matter who's in front of him.

"Hey Harrison! You'll replace me after all"

Randy turns around and says, "No way," Harrison pulls the fur back to his chest.
