"By the way, I've heard that Sir Lorentz is in quite a predicament."
One morning, Rolus said this with a furrowed brow.
"A predicament?"
When I tilted my head in confusion, Rolus nodded and handed me a newspaper.
"What's this?"
The newspaper Rolus handed me was not the usual one I read; it was a sketchy type filled with gossip.
"It seems a servant bought it while out shopping."
The servant spotted this newspaper in town because it had Sir Lorentz's name on it and decided to buy it.
I muttered, "Why would they buy such a shady newspaper?" when Rolus quietly replied.
"They said they bought it because Sir Lorentz had a handsome face."
Well, I suppose that's understandable.
"Regardless of the content, it's hard to blame someone for buying it just for looks."
As I glanced at the page, there was a bold, flashy illustration of Sir Lorentz taking up the front page.
This was hard to argue against.
He really is extremely good-looking.
I had always thought he had a good face, but it seems he has become even more stunning in the time I haven't seen him.
In this world, there is no such thing as photographs as we know them in Japan.
Because there are no cameras.
Instead, it seems artists use magic when depicting portraits, making the illustrations incredibly detailed.
So, they probably aren't that different from photographs.
"Well, well, well."
I peered at the newspaper, holding it up while admiring Sir Lorentz's portrait.
I used to think Mister Eliseo had the best looks of anyone I met, but grown-up Sir Lorentz is way cooler.
"Elena?"
"Hmm?"
"What's wrong?"
"I was just thinking how incredibly handsome he is."
As I answered honestly, Rolus momentarily looked displeased.
What's that about?
Is he jealous?

"Elena, have you been thinking that way for a long time?"

When I first met Sir Lorentz, I definitely thought he had a beautiful face.
