Volume 1 Chapter 60, Part 2 Mean Villainess, Preparing for the Tea Party
I thought he'd say that.
"Even though it's called a tea party, it's basically just a way to make memories, so I really want Rudger to come."
"Hmm."
"I'll be the one making the sweets for the tea party."
"Well, if Elena insists, I guess I'll go."
Rudger is so easy to reel in.
"So... oh, I wonder if Ms. Flora will come too?"
"Huh, is it okay for me to go?"
"I'd be really happy if you could come since I want to invite my close friends."
"I'll go!"
The god is coming!
The god is coming!!
I must get excited and make some sweets!
"Alright, for the first tea party, I'll invite Ms. Flora, Leve, Rudger, Ms. Natalia, Ms. Parsley, and Ms. Percella."
Since it's all classmates, it feels like there's not much difference from being in the classroom.
While I was thinking that and jotting down the ingredients for the sweets, Leve called out to me.
"How about we play a little game before heading back?"
He said.
"Sure! So, Rol..., never mind."
Rolus isn't here.
"Let's play a 2-player game today."
"Yeah, sounds good."
Since we usually played board games with 3 or more people, it had been a while since we played a 2-player game.
We played through all the competitive games we had, and when we started on a balance game, Leve, with a serious face, quietly said, "I have something to discuss."
"If I said I might marry Flora, what would Elena think?"
"I'd be jealous."
Those words slipped out of my mouth.
"Huh, jealous?"
"I wish I had been born a boy so I could marry Flora."
"That so?"
If I married her, I could be with her forever.
And if I were a boy, I'd marry her and work myself to death, allowing her to focus on making games.
"Well, putting that aside, what do you mean by 'what do you think'? By the way, Leve, did you like Flora?"
"No, well, I think she's pleasant enough."
"Has marriage been discussed?"
"It's not that we had a concrete talk. It's just that it's about time the discussion of marriage starts coming up."
"Right. Since my father and elder brother are around, it doesn't come up much."
"Those 2 are holding it back, after all."
As I let out a wry smile, Leve also gives a small wry smile.
"The one that came to mind as a partner was Flora."
"Yes. I think you two suit each other well."
"Also, Elena crossed my mind. To be honest, I thought that if I married Flora, I wonder if I would still be able to see Elena afterwards."
"What do you mean?"
My name floated up, but it didn't connect with the idea of marrying me.
"We've been together since we were little, so I thought it would be sad if I couldn't see Elena anymore."
"But you didn't think about marrying me, huh?"
"It's not that I didn't think about it, but I couldn't. I thought that I couldn't take Elena away from Rolus."
"Wait, what do you mean? Rolus is my attendant... no, he was an attendant. I mean, we don't even know where he is now."
"That's true. I get it, but somehow I feel like Elena and Rolus are one, so I thought I shouldn't get in between you."
"One? Really?"
It's certainly understandable that we've been together all this time, so it wouldn't be surprising if people see us as a set, as I let out yet another small wry smile today.
If my guess is right, we might have been together in past lives, long before this.
It's just a guess, and there's no certainty about it.
"Hey Leve, if I were to die right now, would Rolus be sad?"
"Huh? I think he would be sad. Probably more than anyone else."
"I hope that's the case, but isn't that just my wish?"
"Wish?"
"It's nothing. Come on, Leve, your hands have stopped moving."
"Eh, wow, hey now, shaking it on purpose is against the rules!"
Leve and I returned our focus to the game.
When thinking too hard, we need to take a breather like this.
Overthinking won't change the situation after all.
"...I wonder if I can meet Rolus again someday."
"You definitely will."
I actually want to see him right now.
The thought that maybe, if I made the sweets for the tea party, the smell would lure Rolus back came to mind, which was a silly idea.
"If you feel lonely, I'll keep you company in this game, so cheer up, Elena."
"Yeah. Thank you. I'm really glad that Leve is my childhood friend."
There are so many things I have to think about, but I'll try just a little harder.
If I work hard, there will be a reward someday, just like my mother used to say.
