Volume 1 Chapter 58, Part 2 Mean Villainess, Knowing the Truth from About a Thousand Years Ago
This is the place I saw in my dream on that field trip day.
In fact, not just the place, but the entire situation overlapped with that dream.
The dim scenery I saw then, and the deep bass that echoed from the ground.
That deep bass was the voice of the Earth God.
The form of the Earth God was unseen, only the voice could be heard.
"The price is a thousand-year curse. However, it was your father who devised this contract. Therefore, I shall give you the key to break the curse. The key is 6 souls. When the souls are gathered, the curse shall be lifted."
At that moment, a faint light appeared in the gaze of the 6th king.
That was the curse bestowed by the Earth God, and it was the light that the 6th king was supposed to receive.
Yet, frightened, the 6th king pulled the hand of the female student next to him, causing her to be bathed in the light of the curse.
On that field trip day, my right hand felt strangely cold, and being pulled by Leve startled me greatly; perhaps it was the memory of the soul.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry."
The fifth queen next to me was apologizing.
In short, it seems to be her saying, "I'm sorry that you were cursed because of my son."
While observing the sorrowful fifth queen from the corner of my eye, I watched the female student in front of me.
The female student seemed bewildered, not understanding what had happened to her, and at this point, the most flustered was the knight assigned to protect her.
It was pitiful enough that she was dragged around in an unfamiliar land, and now she was cursed as well.
The Earth God let out a great rumble as if lamenting, then fell silent.
What a hellish scene.
Moreover, this hellish scene would not end here.
The angry Earth God first stripped the people of their magical power.
Only the bare minimum of magical power was left.
By the way, this seems to be the moment the spell ended.
Then, it encased the lands of the world in ice.
Perhaps it wanted to tell the people, who were always at war, to cool their heads.
The people trapped in ice did not die; instead, they fell into a deep sleep.
Thus, this world entered a state of cold sleep for about a hundred years.
Except for one person.
...Well, that would be me.
It seems my body, being a resident of another world, could not withstand this freezing.
Before I knew it, I had died.
It is truly pitiful.
"...I see. I thought the 6th king lived unusually long, but it turns out most of that was just him sleeping."
I was almost moved to tears by my own patheticness, so I decided to think about something else.
Because that's how it is.
I was suddenly summoned, couldn't go home, dragged around an unknown land, cursed, frozen, and killed.
I mean, a thousand-year curse? That means I have no memories of it being lifted, and I'm currently still cursed.
No wonder the seeds would explode.
"Everything was caused by my husband, my son, and myself."
"...Well, that's true."
I'm just an ordinary person who got incredibly caught up in all this.
"We weren't allowed to reincarnate."
"Oh, really?"
Apparently, I've been reincarnated many times, but the fifth king, queen, and prince have been imprisoned in the heavenly realm without reincarnation.
"I too am in a state of confinement. However, to atone for our sins, I was permitted to come here to apologize and explain."
"Well, honestly, even if you apologize, it's a bit much."
After all, it's been nearly a thousand years while still cursed.
"Of course, the apology was something I merely wished to offer, so it's fine if you don't forgive me. No, please don't forgive me."
"Well, whether to forgive or not, it's kind of out of my hands anyway."
"The fact that your past self had a short lifespan was also due to the curse."
Ah, seriously.
I wish they would apologize to the game enthusiasts instead of me.
That guy was more shocked by my death than I was.
"From now on, I will do my best to lift your curse."
"Ah... thank you."
As I casually replied, I woke up from the dream.
"I feel like I had quite a significant dream."
I mumbled to myself while still lying on the bed.
Rolus should have been here before, but now he's no longer around.
Perhaps being separated from Rolus is also part of the curse.
And if the curse isn't lifted, my life in this world might be short-lived as well.
Well, I'll just have to hope for my next life.
"I don't even care about anything anymore..."
As I sighed heavily and whispered that, a voice called out from outside the room.
"Elena, there's a letter from Father!"
It's Elder Brother's voice.
Since it must be a letter from Father, I thought maybe Rolus had been found, so I hurriedly opened the door.
"Let me see it!"
"Whoa, you're energetic this morning."
I opened the seal with trembling fingers and checked the contents.
However, unfortunately, there were no words of 'Rolus' inside.
"It seems you can go to the Royal Central Library, Elena."
"...It seems so."
The letter stated that a permit would be issued to enter the Royal Central Library upon graduation from the academy and that permission had been granted to enter immediately if with Elder Brother.
"You don't seem too happy about it, Elena, even though you wanted to go so badly."
"No, I'm very happy."
I smiled since Father had obtained the permission.
Certainly, if it were me from a while ago, I would have been overjoyed without a doubt.
But, having seen most of what I wanted to know in the earlier dream, it was different now.
Not only that, but I learned things I did not want to know.
Moreover, above all, not knowing Rolus's whereabouts or even if he was well was simply painful.
