Volume 1 Chapter 35 The King Is Abandoned by the Adventurers
Meanwhile, the King had brought the prime minister and was visiting the Adventurer's Guild in the royal capital.
In the Guild Master's room.
"Really, why does the king of a nation have to come to a place like this... Don't you think it's rude of them!"
"Indeed, Your Majesty! They say they're too busy to come to the castle. Useless fools!"
Now, let's see why they are here.
At the moment, the royal capital was in chaos.
It all started when the magic beasts that the country kept for defense stopped obeying.
The knights couldn't handle the magic beasts alone, so they finally placed requests for extermination to the adventurers.
However, feeling frustrated that the number of magic beasts wasn't decreasing at all, the King came to complain.
"Sorry to keep you waiting, Your Majesty."
The Guild Master of the Adventurer's Guild walked in.
He was a man in his forties with a rugged face.
"So late! How dare you keep the King waiting!"
The Guild Master frowned with displeasure and muttered quietly, "...This is your fault."
"So, what do you want, Your Majesty? I've given the report to your prime minister here."
"About that. Why aren't the numbers of magic beasts decreasing?"
"Yeah, yeah. Aren't you guys slacking off?"
The Guild Master sighs at the King and the prime minister.
"I'm not slacking off. The whole guild is working on this."
"Then why doesn't peace come to the royal capital? "
"There just aren't enough people for the size of the commotion, especially now."
The Guild Master will explain.
The royal capital's proud S-rank adventurer party [Dragon of Dusk] has left.
Since then, many adventurers have left this place and are now flocking to the Beastman Country Adventurer's Guild.
"Wh, why? Why has it become like this...?"
"That's your fault!"
Bam...!
The guild master kicks the sofa.
"Even though you asked the guild to deal with the magic beast you unleashed, all you do is complain for us to hurry up! On top of that, we bring in lower-ranked adventurers too! If they don't run away now, something's wrong with them!"
The kings, who were the clients, were putting a huge burden on the adventurers by making unreasonable demands.
"W-What kind of attitude is that towards the king!"
"Shut up, you fools! Because of you, both the guild and the citizens are suffering!"
"Wha-What!? You call us fools!"
The king stood up, his face bright red.
"Y-You are disrespectful! Y-You deserve the death penalty! Execute this man!"
It was at that moment that he raised his voice.
"Don't mess with us!"
Bang!
The door to the guild master's room burst open, and many adventurers flooded in.
"How can you say such awful things about the guild master!"
"This man is working hard for us adventurers! Unlike you complainers!"
Many adventurers directed their anger at the kings.
"B-Back off, you disrespectful ones! I could have you all executed!"
Saying this, the guild master grabbed the prime minister by the collar and twisted it.
"Who's being disrespectful now? You fools!"
Whoosh!
The Guild Master throws the prime minister away like a ball.
Bang!
He was buried in the wall and fainted.
"Eep...!"
The king's face turns pale and he trembles.
There is no way that a weak king could compete with the well-trained adventurers.
"I-If you kill me, that will be the ultimate punishment!"
"Who's going to kill you idiots? ...Enough already, I'm sick of you guys"
The guild master pointed his finger at the king.
"We, the Adventurer's Guild, will reject your quest."
"What?! You think you can get away with being so tyrannical?!"
Hmph, the guild master said in a mocking tone.
"Shut up. Get out of here. ...Hey, throw these idiots out of here"
The adventurers nodded, picked up the Prime Minister and the King, and threw them out of the building.
"Don't come again, you idiot"
"Do you think it's okay to treat the king like that?!"
"Unfortunately, we adventurers are humans who came from outside. We're not your citizens, you fool!"
Bang!
The door shuts.
"H-Hey! Open up! What about the magic beast!? It's irresponsible to leave it like this! Hey! Hey! Heeeey!"
...But no matter how much the king shouted, the adventurers never heard his words again.
"Uh, Your Majesty... what should we do?"
"S-Stop being so noisy! Be quiet! You figure it out! That's your job, damn it!"
