Volume 2 Chapter 8 After Disbandment... at Amamiya Value Technology
*Sagawa's Perspective
After the discussion about the clan ended, Takeru and I were driven by Kogoro-san, but after dropping off Takeru,
"Huh? Kogoro-san? This isn't the way to my house, is it?"
"Yes, I am aware."
"...Huh?"
"Ojousama and Kisaragi-sama have requested an 'emergency meeting,' so Sagawa-sama is to return."
"Ah... yes."
Well, I kind of expected this.
After all, no one anticipated Takeru's 'clan formation talk.'
And especially not at a time like this.
I thought he would be focusing mainly on Omega's D-streamer activities.
"What on earth is going on?" ...I mean, Amamiya and Kisaragi-san must be thinking the same.
It was so sudden.
With that, I made a quick return to Amamiya Value Technology.
* * *
"But who would have thought... it would come to this?"
"Yeah, it really was out of the blue. I was shocked!"
So, I returned to Amamiya's house.
Upon entering, Kisaragi-san and Amamiya were already discussing 'Takeru's clan formation.'
"T-thank you for your hard work!"
"Oh, thanks for your hard work too. Sorry for calling you back."
"N-No problem."
"Honestly... Sagawa, what were you thinking? The situation is a complete mess because of you!"
"No, wait! I was just told by Takeru this morning, 'We're going to the dungeon this weekend!' out of nowhere!"
"I don't care! But it's definitely your fault, Sagawa!"
"That's so unreasonable!?"
"Oh dear, such a close bond..."
""That's not it! (It's not!)""
"So, why did Takeru-kun suddenly say something like that... Did you hear anything?"
"N-No, nothing. It really was sudden..."
"Hmm."
Kisaragi-san asked a lot of questions, but honestly, I have no clue about this 'out of the blue' situation.
It seemed like she picked up on that,
"Yeah, I see. So, this is likely related to the 'Omega D Streamer activities,' huh?"
"Huh?"
"Omega's?"
"Ah. I don't know the reason, but it seems like there might be some restrictions on the 'exposure' related to Omega's D Streamer activities."
""Exposure... restrictions?""
"Yeah. I mean, Omega has become quite the sensation, after all."
I see.
Kisaragi-san's theory does seem quite plausible.
"But why? Why is there a need to limit Omega's exposure? Honestly, he's so strong, and Omega... even Takeru-kun himself seems quite positive about dungeon exploration. Plus, from a guild perspective, if someone as strong as Takeru-kun is enthusiastic about exploring, wouldn't they want to increase his exposure and use his as a promotional figure for Seeker acquisition...?"
Indeed.
Amamiya's reasoning makes a lot of sense.
Japan has a smaller Seeker population compared to the world.
It makes sense for the guild to operate like this, especially with plenty of dungeon resources and a lack of personnel.
No, rather, Amamiya's thoughts feel very fitting.
"Yeah, that's right. Ojou is probably correct."
"Then...!"
"But, you know, organizations aren't always unified... the guild isn't a 'single entity' either."
"Huh?"
"What do you mean by that...?"
"Simply put, there are various stakeholders involved. Some stakeholders think, 'I want Takeru-kun to have more exposure,' while others think, 'I want to limit Takeru-kun's exposure,' and then there are more stakeholders who..."
""Ah, I see...""
Oh, that's true.
It's quite common in organizations, isn't it?
I've seen it in dramas before.
"So, does that mean that the ones currently acting are the stakeholders who think 'I want to limit Takeru-kun's exposure'?"
"Ah, I think that might be about right. But as I said before, the guild's Upper Floors aren't a united front... Right now, those wanting to reduce Takeru-kun's exposure are the main actors, but there will be various obstacles ahead... By the way, the stakeholders wanting to diminish Takeru-kun's exposure are probably Sakurako and her group."
""G-Guild Master...!""
Ah, but that's probably true.
That press conference and the ongoing commotion since then have brought Omega's name to light, for better or worse.
Perhaps, Sakurako-sama wants to settle this uproar quickly.
...Just a feeling, though.
* * *
"Anyway, there are still many unclear things, so let's hold off on discussing 'Omega's true nature' with Takeru-kun for now."
"Yeah, got it."
"Ah... yes."
"Hmm? What's up, Sagawa-kun?"
Kisaragi-san picks up on my vague answer and speaks up.
"Um... probably, there will come a time when we talk about 'Omega's true nature' while we're active as a clan with Takeru..."
"...How can you say that?"
"Well, it's Takeru, right?! That unguarded boy Takeru who changed costumes as we said, without a clue about Omega's new outfit? He's bound to spill the beans soon, even if we think he doesn't know his identity."
"Ah... Ah, yeah. That... could be."
Amamiya shows signs of feeling guilty about Takeru but still doesn't deny it.
In fact, he rather affirms it.
"Hmm, I see. So, you're suggesting that we could bring up the topic of his identity at our discretion, Sagawa-kun?"
"Yes, exactly!"
"Alright then. I'll leave the timing up to you two. That way, it might align better with the best moment for a coming out."
"Thank you, Kisaragi-san!"
"B-but, saying that... when exactly should I say it... it's not that easy..."
Amamiya shows a hint of anxiety at having the 'discretion to come out.'
"It's alright. If it's me and Amamiya, we'll understand!"
"...Sagawa."
"Whoa whoa, you two are intense~"
""No! (That's not it!)""
