Chapter 420-2 So, Who Is This Child Really?

Chapter 420, Part 2 So, Who Is This Child Really?

It should be something very good, but I can't help but feel it's hard to believe that "that" Adam said it.

 "Adam, you've changed a lot, haven't you?"

"Is that so? I don't really know. I've gotten used to avoiding difficult and troublesome things, and I think I haven't been thinking properly."

'Is this really that Adam? This level of change is suspicious enough to suspect drug use. Could it be that he's possessed by a strange spirit? I wonder if Miss Cordelia the female educator anticipated this level of change. Thinking about it like that is kind of scary.'

Feeling anxious, Sara turned gently towards Marg, who was smiling proudly.

'Wow, she's radiating happiness. I always thought she was a beautiful girl, but she's becoming even more polished. To change Adam this much, the power of love is truly great. But I still won't give Adam a passing grade.'

 "Adam, I'm a merchant. I won't lend a hand if there's no profit."

"But Sara, you're a Grandchester too, right? Besides, you've helped me a lot until now."

"It's true that I've helped my grandfather and uncles. In return, I established the Sophia Merchant Guild and connected it to the royal family and many noble houses. Both sides benefit from it."

 "Family helps each other, right?"

"The Adam who treated me like a commoner and discriminated against me is now calling me family?"

 "Well..."

 Adam looked down sadly.

However, Marg, who was next to him, raised her face firmly and smiled gracefully at Sara.

"I think Sara is right. A relationship where one side helps the other is not healthy. My mother and my sisters depended on our father and brother to live. But when they found themselves in danger, they easily abandoned us. I've heard that many other bureaucrats also abandoned their wives and children and ran away. Adam, even now, the words 'family helps each other' don't resonate with me."

"That's true. It seems I was trying to rely on others again. Sara, I don't have an answer right now, but I will think carefully about how both sides can benefit."

"Understood. When you do, let me know again."

'Huh? Could it be that Adam is more suited to being a lord than grandfather or uncle...'

As Sara climbed the stairs to her room to return to the Royal Capital, she became frightened by her unexpected thoughts and shook her head vigorously.

'No, no, I won't be fooled. That's Adam I'm talking about!'

After Sara left, Adam sipped the tea made by Thomashiina and let out a little weakness to Marg.

"Sara is as tough as ever. I don't expect her to forgive me for what I've done, but I wish we could have a relationship like Chloe's, where we can cooperate..."

"Hmm. To me, Sara seems like a really kind girl. If she were truly a merchant only thinking about profit, she wouldn't let you think for yourself, Adam. I think she's trying to teach us so we won't struggle when we grow up."

Adam's eyes widened at Marg's observation, and he felt down about his shallow thinking.

"Haa... I can't even realize something like this without Marg teaching me. I really hate how narrow-minded I am."

"That's why you need to study. Adam, make sure to learn a lot of things at the academy."

"Got it. I'll learn all the things Marg wanted to know. When I come back, I'll teach you too."

"Just don't remember it wrong, okay?"

"Haha, I'll do my best to make sure that doesn't happen."

Robert and Arthur, when they entered the academy, had said the same words to Rebecca as Adam does now.

It was because of that promise that Robert graduated in 4 years.

Arthur had actually completed enough credits to graduate in 3 years, but he graduated in 4 years to match Robert.

"I also plan to study at Miss Rebecca's school."

"Honestly, that sounds more interesting to me."

"Then let's teach each other later!"

Watching Marg elegantly sip her tea, it felt as if the days when she had been a boy running around the slums were just a dream.

Even though Adam had seen Marg in the slums with his own eyes, a girl he didn't recognize smiled at him like a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis.

'Even though we see each other every day, I feel like I'm falling in love every day...'

He has heard that many people neglect their studies or work because of love, but for Adam, it seems to be a driving force to do his best.

Perhaps it's a characteristic of the Grandchester boys.

After finishing their tea, Adam and Marg headed to the classroom where Class 18 was preparing for lessons.

By the time they finished their usual self-study, Scott and Blaze would likely arrive, escorted by Mister Thomas.

Of course, Christopher should also be coming from the main residence.

The path connecting the main residence and Jeffrey's house to Maiden's Tower has been cleared of snow by the golems.

To be more precise, the golems are continuously making snow sculptures and playground equipment for children using the collected snow around Maiden's Tower.

Recently, Adam learned that there is a snow storage facility in the basement of Grandchester Castle, so the golems are also transporting snow there.

The servants at the main residence frequently talk about how easy this winter has been thanks to the golems.

Many of them wish they could have a golem at home as well.

"Sara really changes a lot of things. She seems to think that I've changed because of Miss Cordelia the female educator and Marg, but the one who truly changed me is definitely Sara. What an outrageous cousin she is."

 "Adam, that's a bit envious."

 "Ah, no, not at all!"

"I know. But it's a little frustrating that I'm not the one who changed you."

"It was Sara who opened my ignorant eyes, but it was Marg who made me realize that I had to change. I want to be a man who can make you happy."

"You know, I don't want Adam to make me happy. We will be happy together!"

 "I see, you're right. Marg."

The couple, whose sweet atmosphere could make Sara feel like throwing up from the sugariness, finished about an hour of self-study together and both scored full marks on the math test given by Thomas.

Scott and Blaze, who witness Adam's rapid growth every day, are also fueled by a sense of rivalry and are diligently studying to keep up with Adam and Marg.

However, Christopher alone remains unfazed by Adam's changes, maintaining his own pace.

As the social season approaches, the boys of Grandchester have shifted into full-fledged exam preparation for the academy entrance exams.

Their teacher, Thomas, has no doubt that all 4 will pass the academy and is starting to think about discussing their next job prospects with Sara.

Additionally, the applications for the 4 have already been submitted.
