Volume 1 Chapter 9 Lightly Defeating an S, Part Rank Adventurer
We quickly arrived at the entrance of the beastman country.
Amidst the tall trees, armored dog beastman soldiers are guarding the border.
"Welcome back, Divine Beast, Lady Mintha."
One of the soldiers greets Mintha and the others.
"We have safely brought the court physician."
"Oh! Then you must be the one who saved the life of the Divine Beast, our benefactor!"
The soldiers' eyes sparkle as they look at me.
They come closer, take my hand, and shake it enthusiastically.
"Welcome to our country! All of us, the citizens, welcome you! Now, please come inside!"
And then, at that moment.
"Hey, hey, hey! Wait a minute!"
Rough-looking men approached us.
They were armed and wearing armor.
Not soldiers, that's for sure.
"What do you want?"
"Ha! You don't know who we are? Where are you from, country bumpkin?"
The leader-like man snorted as he looked at me.
"We are an S-rank adventurer party [Gray Wolves]!"
"Huh... what kind of adventurer is that?"
There was an adventurer's guild in the royal capital.
But I'm a beast veterinarian, and I don't really understand what adventurers are.
"Obviously, I have business in this bastard country"
Apparently he was trying to enter the beastman country.
"The beastman country has an abundance of magic stones. If I sell them I can make a ton of money! But the bastards there chase me away, saying "No humans allowed." And then you try to go in, don't you?"
I see, that's why he annoy me.
"This person is a valued guest. Please do not treat him the same as rude people like you."
Mintha says with obvious disgust.
"Huh!? Who's the rude one? You bastard!"
The leader bangs!
and pushes Mintha away.
"Aaaah"
"I'll just go in by force!"
The leader draws his sword and attacks Mintha.
Plop!
"Don't do it"
"Wha!? You, you caught my sword...!?"
I was pinching his sword with my fingers.
"N-No way!? How can you catch the sword that's known as the Swift Sword!?"
"Well, I also treat hawks and stuff. My eyesight is good."
Wild animals basically don't listen to what humans say.
While chasing them around, my stamina and reflexes naturally improved.
"Ugh! This! The sword won't move! What insane strength!"
"Huh, really? I didn't think I was putting in that much strength."
Grip!
As I applied force with my fingers, the blade shattered into pieces.
"N-No way!? You crushed an iron sword with your fingers! Wh-What are you!?"
"I'm just a doctor."
"Don't mess with me! Damn it! Get him, you guys!"
The adventurers got tense and armed themselves.
"It can't be helped. [Paralyze]"
The Paralyze skill activated, and all the adventurers froze in place.
"N-No way, is this even possible!? Paralyzing an S-rank all at once! Even high-level magicians are over here!"
"It's a strong one for magic beasts. It's adjusted so that you won't die, but you won't be able to move for half a day."
"Damn it..."
Mintha cheers as she sees the fallen adventurers and then me.
"You're amazing, Sir Zeke! You managed to defeat the bad guys so well!"
