Volume 19 Chapter 4 Discussion With Naresh Part 2️⃣
"Whaaaaaat!!"
Seeing the light that Naresh had ignited, Al couldn't help but shout loudly.
"Amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing. Sir Naresh has learned to use it too!"
"Ouch, that hurts!"
Al took Naresh's hand with both of his and shook it up and down vigorously.
Despite saying it hurt, Naresh wore a grin and let Al do as he pleased.
"Really, it's all thanks to you, Al. Now, once again, the path to become the knight I've always dreamed of has opened up for me. I've always wanted to thank you, Al. Thank you so much."
Naresh looked genuinely happy.
He had previously said that he admired knights who could use the 'Physical Boost' spell since he was young.
The knight he dreamed of must refer to that.
"As for the exchange magic tool for learning spells, I've already obtained the land in advance. There's nothing to worry about. But I'm glad. Really glad."
Al nodded repeatedly.
"I'll return this for now."
Naresh offered Al a bracelet embedded with something like crystals.
It was the assistant device, Tess, given as a magic tool for spell learning.
"Are you sure? Is it okay?"
Al glanced briefly at Craig.
Wasn't it Craig himself who said that after a long time of trying, he was eventually forced to give up on learning the spells?
Naresh also glanced at Craig.
Craig bit his lip lightly and then bowed deeply.
"I'm sorry. Al..."
"Huh?"
Al couldn't help but cry out in surprise at the sudden change in his behavior.
"I'm sorry... I was jealous. I had worked so hard and dreamed of it so many times, but I still couldn't do it. You said it was easy, and I felt resentment. Please forgive me."
I see.....
Craig, who is usually calm, seemed unable to control his emotions at that moment as he encouraged Naresh to submit the magic tool to the magician guild.
It felt strange.
They must be regretting having said it without being able to control their emotions.
He was surprised when he brought it up, but thanks to Naresh's judgment, nothing problematic occurred at that moment.
"It's okay. There's nothing to worry about. Sir Naresh must have understood. So, Mr. Craig is now able to safely use that magic tool and perceive the symbol's image?"
Al smiled brightly.
Although he didn't say he out loud when he lent it to Naresh, deep down, he hoped that if Craig's friend was indeed him, he could learn magic using this magic tool.
What had happened?
"No, I wouldn't be that bold..."
"Well then, Sir Naresh. I'll keep lending you this magic tool for a little while longer. You can lend it to whoever you think should use it."
Seeing Naresh and Craig's faces, Al smiled at the surprised Craig.
"I thought so. If it's Al, I expected that. As for Craig, no matter how many times I told him, he stubbornly refused to use this magic tool. Come on, Craig, stop being so proud and let's train to perceive the image from the symbol already."
"Al... Sir Naresh..."
Craig hung his head.
"Thank you... thank you very much."

"By the way, have you learned any spells besides 'Light'? What about the spell 'Physical Boost'?"
Al asks, and Naresh gives a bitter smile.
"No, I'm still only 'Light'. Lord Zora has been giving me lots of guidance, but it's going to take me a while to master it."
The spell 'Physical Boost' is 3rd tier and has many symbols.
It's inevitable that it will take time for Naresh, who has only a few symbols to learn.
"Regarding that, since we're moving together, how about you provide guidance on acquiring spells, Lord Al?"
"Huh?"
Al let out an unexpected sound at Lord Zora's unusual proposal.
"Why? I'm... I really learned in my own way. At first, I received some teachings from my grandpa, but after a while, I couldn't wait anymore and interpreted the spellbook by myself. There's no way I could follow someone else's guidance."
"About that, I talked quite a bit with Lord Eric. Actually, I spoke with him before through the introduction of His Excellency Naresh. Since I am a subordinate of His Excellency, he shared numerous valuable insights with me. It seems that the options for spells announced at the magician guild in the Sylvester kingdom were actually discovered by Lord Al. Moreover, it was said that Lord Al has his own methods for learning spells, making the acquisition speed overwhelmingly faster than the techniques used in the Sylvester kingdom."
Eric... is that so?
Indeed, if Naresh exists, it's not surprising that the two are connected.
"The options and parameters for the spells, were they not passed down in the Tempest Kingdom?"
"Passed down? ...Could it be that the options were not discovered by Lord Al?"
Lord Zora, with a shocked expression, nodded in response to Al's question.
"The options are something I found and named, but it seems that the ancient civilization was actually aware of the same things, referring to them as parameters. I had thought that since there were many remnants of the ancient civilization in the Tempest Kingdom, there might still be some of that technology left... It's unfortunate."
Lord Zora shook his head with an expression of shock at Al's explanation.
Al had also been very shocked when he first heard about the parameters from Malachi.
From his reaction, it seemed that the knowledge had not made its way to the Tempest Kingdom either.
He had refrained from using it against the magician of the Marquis Prentis family as his trump card all along, but deep down, he feared that the magician might actually know about the parameters.
However, judging by Lord Zora's reaction, it seemed highly likely that it had not been transmitted in the Tempest Kingdom as well.
"Well... this definitely requires Lord Al to assist the two of them in acquiring their spells. I would like to get permission for our family members to observe as well..."
Al fixed his gaze on Naresh's face.
Naresh's eyes sparkled as he nodded repeatedly.
It seemed difficult for him to refuse.
However....
"Well then, Sir Naresh. I'll ask again, I'm not sure if my teaching will be effective or not. Is that really okay?"
"It's okay. Just think about it. If you hadn't been there, I wouldn't have been able to learn magic before. I would have failed anyway. Besides, after hearing Lord Eric's story, it's not surprising that I'd be inspired by your spells."
Al shrugged at Naresh's words.
"Okay. If I have time, I'll explain how to learn the spells. But there's security..."
As Al, he also had to serve as Gustave's guard.
He had come to discuss cooperation regarding security against magic.
Would there really be time for that?
As Al tilted his head in confusion, Lord Zora suggested that during the time Al was here, Naresh could use his free time to teach him spells.
"From here, it would take about 150 kilometers to travel within the Kingdom of Messina. I've heard the roads are well-maintained, but it should still take 5 days to a week. Even the Marquis Prentis family would probably not interfere during this stretch. During that time, we will conduct the magic security jointly, and I would like Lady Serena to approve that Lord Al can stay in our tent at night, so we can use the available time for spell learning. Sir Naresh, could you please arrange that with Lady Serena?"
I see, then it might be possible to find some time....
"By the way, do you know what the plans are after that?"
Al asked Lord Zora.
He had come to discuss Serena's protection, but he had no sense of geography at all.
Would they not reach the Marquis Tagard territory soon?
"When you enter the Tempest Kingdom from the Kingdom of Messina, you come across a savanna called the Norma Plateau. There are almost no trees, the land is undulating, and people mainly live by grazing. There are towns at the scattered water sources, and they are ruled by the Count of Norma. He has many nomadic tribes under his control, and his knights have considerable power. Therefore, the Marquis Prentis family and the Marquis Tagard family cannot do anything against the Count of Norma. And the Count of Norma does not allow the armies of other families to pass through his territory."
So it's a neutral zone.
But then, will their delegation be able to get through?
"They say they'll welcome you if you give them enough bribes."
Naresh smiled wryly at Lord Zora's explanation.
Somehow, he understood it.
The Count Norma itself is neutral, not allowing any troops to pass, but it depends on the bribe.
Perhaps they are not completely able to control the subordinate tribes.
In any case, members of the Marquis Prentis family can also pass freely depending on the bribe.
"It will take about 5 days to get through the Norma Highlands even if we hurry. This section is considered the most dangerous. Once we get past that, we'll be in Marquis Tagard's territory."
Five days....
It seems quite far to Marquis Tagard's territory.
That said, if the Marquis Prentis family is left unchecked, they might end up supplying food to the Barbarians again.
He must do everything possible to prevent that.
For that purpose, he wants to ensure the current delegation is safely delivered to Marquis Tagard's domain.
"I'm counting on you for various things, Al."
"Understood. I'll do my best. Leave it to me."
Naresh extended his hand.
Al clasped that hand and shook it.
"By the way, Sir Naresh, may I go take a look at the Orion town for a bit?"
