Volume 5 Chapter 30 Notice And Thank You
"Randy, what are you doing? Everyone's already here!"
Randy, called out by Liz, hurriedly tightened his tie and grabbed his jacket in a flurry. He rushed out of the room with big strides, prompted by Liz.
"Everyone's too early."
"Randy's the one who's late."
Pouting, Liz sighed, "You knew this since yesterday, right?"
While listening to Liz's nagging, Randy finally burst out of the front door of the mansion.
There were the Victor family, of course, along with the Braubelg family, Luke, Cecilia, and even Annabelle, Cory, Catherine, and Leon. These were all people connected to Randy.
"You're late."
"The main guy being late is not cool."
Welcomed by the exasperated faces of Luke and Cecilia, Randy said, "Sorry, sorry," as he stood in the middle.
The group gathered in front of Victor's mansion looked like they were about to take a commemorative photo.
"......"
"......"
"......"
"......"
"......"
"......"
"What are we waiting for?"
As Randy broke the mysterious silence, a chorus of "Huh?!" filled the air, sounding like a collective complaint. Since everyone spoke at once, it was pretty loud, and Randy, on the receiving end, was like, "Huh? What?"
"...Keith──"
"Sir, you mustn't say anything."
"There's an idiot here."
"Liza, is Sir Randolph still half-asleep?"
"I can't believe this..."
"Wait, doesn't this seem kinda like something Sir Randolph would do?"
As everyone chimed in with their thoughts, Liz, with a deadpan look, poked Randy in the side.
"We're waiting for the 'main guy's greeting'."
With Liz sighing non-stop, Randy clapped his hands and cleared his throat, saying, "Ah, got it."
"Okay, everyone, quiet down."
Everyone shot Randy a look that said, "This is your fault," but he ignored them. This time, he faced them head-on and opened his mouth with a smile.
"Uh, so, our adventure... is this really an adventure?"
"That's fine, right?"
Liz poked him again, and Randy said, "Well, whatever," and reset.
"Uh, actually, we've been sharing our life like a diary, and it's been delivered to modern Japan... According to our intermediary, our story about living freely has won an award in the 'Kadokawa BOOKS Fantasy Novel Contest.'."
Cheers went up, but most people didn't really understand what that meant. Only Catherine squeaked, "Kadokawa? That Kadokawa?"
...So, from here on out, I, Kiitarou, the intermediary, will take over and give you a peek into Randy and the gang's life.
As I mentioned in yesterday's update, just like Randy said, we won an excellence award in the 'Kadokawa BOOKS Fantasy Novel Contest.' (I hope this message gets through to readers who only follow the story, so please forgive the formal announcement.)
Out of 3,611 entries, we were chosen as one of 4, and I truly believe this is thanks to the support of our readers.
Thank you so much for your encouragement!
That said, their story isn't over yet. As we move into the book publication process, there might be some delays in updates, but our motto is to definitely finish the web version, so I hope you'll stick with us until the end.
Oh, it seems like everyone is about to wrap up their discussion, so I'll take my leave here...
"Wait, are you really saying that?"
Catherine grabbed Randy, and Liz tilted her head, asking, "Is it really that amazing?"
"Amazing? It means our life might actually become a book."
"You barely show up in it, though."
Randy laughed with a mischievous grin, and Catherine frowned, saying, "Ugh."
"Anyway, it's really an amazing thing, so we should properly thank them."
"Yeah, yeah. Got it."
Randy scratched his head and called out to everyone again, "Alright, everyone line up!"
"Now then, to all of you enjoying our story... on 3!"
"""Thank you!"""
"And we hope you continue to enjoy our story!"
Randy struck a fancy salute while Liz bowed deeply.
An event from a dream long ago... yet everyone was having the same dream──
