Chapter 91 Lyam, Forced To Approach

Chapter 91 Lyam, Forced To Approach

Things seemed tough ahead, but I could say I successfully convinced Shura for now.

After that, Shura apologized to Lyam, even though it looked a bit complicated. Lyam and Sham seemed to understand that there were reasons behind it and accepted Shura's apology.

Honestly, I wasn't sure if they would accept it, but as expected from a protagonist, I had the power to persuade Shura. Everything was solved, and it felt great.

We did a few missions with Reginleif after that, and it seems like there are no hard feelings left. Captain Shidou often pointed out our rough teamwork, though.

 "295... 296...!"

In the middle of these busy days, today was finally my day off.

Being a knight is work too. It's a job. We're human, and we need breaks to keep going.

Whether it's diving into hobbies, going outside, or just having fun, taking a break is important.

 "300...!"

So here I am, lying in an empty lot near the dorm, enjoying my day off.

Ah, working out feels good. I managed to push myself harder today, doing more reps and tougher exercises. It feels amazing.

(Yo, workin' out on my free day is straight fire, ain't nothin' better)

(I can't relate to that at all. A day off is just like any other day for me.)

(Ms. Ruthless, you're missin' the point, I normally bang out 200 push-ups easy, today I crushed 300 and added one-armers too, so this is a major upgrade)

(Oh, I see. I get it now, Master's brain is all about muscles.)

Looks like my feelings don't get through to her, an iron pipe. The satisfaction of pushing past my usual limits feels great.

As I was enjoying that tired feeling, a shadow suddenly fell over my face.

 "Oh, here's some water."

"Nah, didn't mean to inconvenience you, but I appreciate it."

 "No problem."

Right, drinking cold water after training is refreshing... but wait, why is Lyam acting like she was here the whole time?

"Huh? "Wassup with comin' at me?"

"Well, I thought you were doing great. Here's a towel. I borrowed it from the dorm manager."

"Oh, nice of you... wait. What's the real reason you're standin' there, causin' a scene?"

This is the male knight dorm's yard, after all. Could it be that she has a secret boyfriend and came to meet him? Like, going on a date since it's a day off?

"I came to return the book I borrowed from Mr. Quollio. He wasn't here, but then I saw you working hard, so I thought I'd stop by. Was that a bother?"

 "Nah, not at all."

So it was just a casual visit to a friend. Quollio went out to buy books, and she happened to see me and brought me a drink.

Wow, she's really nice. Like an angel.

"By the way, where's ya sis at? You chicks ain't glued to each other 24/7, huh?"

"Oh, my sister is out shopping for clothes and accessories with Ms. Shura. I heard there's a nice new store on Central Street."

"Clothes, huh? You shoulda tagged along."

"Well, I'm not really into clothes. Cute things can be expensive, and honestly, I don't think they'd look good on me."

"Aw, come on, you're skinny, you look fine. What're you talkin' 'bout?"

 "Uh, thank you..."

I just complimented her, and she got shy and pulled her hood over her head.

Yeah, I've thought this before, but Lyam really has low self-esteem. She can use 2 types of magic and looks cute, but she seems to be really humble.

(Seriously, she's a straight-up contrast to her sis, ain't even similar.)

(Actually, Master is more like her. You're silly, goes with the flow, and silly again.)

(Don't repeat yourself, already said it once)

Ruthless is harsh, but she has a point.

Compared to Sham, who lives by instinct, Lyam hardly speaks up for herself. It's not a bad thing, but people like her tend to bottle up stress.

I had Lyam help me make peace with Quollio... But it seems I should really step in and help her out now.

"By the way, I owe you a big favor, right? ain't no forgetting this."

 "Eh? The borrowed book?"

"Aww, don't play dumb. You set me up with Murdoch, old dude. Without him, I wouldn't've gotten my hands on that Star Crown Beast Catalog. So, I owe ya one, got it?"

"W-Well, it's not a big deal or anything..."

"Don't play it down! That's what I'm sayin', straight up."

"F-Fuh!? Y-Yeah, you did! Mr. Hiiro borrowed it!"

"Yeah, that's right, that's right." (Righteous, bein' honest is key.)

(Master, this is basically a threat.)

It's fine, it's fine. Kids like this who are too humble need a little push.

First, it's important to make them speak up, even if you have to force it. The protagonist is definitely right.

"Alright, now listen up and give me some order."

 "O-Orders? I don't know what to say..."

"C'mon, think! Tell me to fetch something, like a loaf of bread or buff that rusty pipe. Or maybe give you a hand with somethin', like a massage."

"I-I can't just say those things out of nowhere..."

 "Come on, already!"

 "Eek!"

(Ah, Master. YouI'll polish me with the good stuff, okay? Order up!)

(I know you're gonna rag on me about makin' weird noises while polishin'. Don't think I'm fallin' for that.)

(It's okay to moan a little, right? It feels good.)

 (Shut yer trap.)

Ignoring Ruthless's strong demands, I grabbed Lyam's shoulder, and she nodded as if she gave up. Her eyes were spinning a bit, but going a little overboard is probably just right.

"Uh, um... so, can I ask you something?"

 "Yeah, go ahead."

And then, after a moment of hesitation, Lyam finally asked.

"How about we go shopping together?"

It was such a normal request that I was a bit surprised.
