Volume 6 Chapter 45 Beyond The Tightrope
'It's really frustrating, but... you win, Black Blade.'
The telepathy from the swordstick (Touga) stabbed into my stomach made my knees give out, and I collapsed on the spot.
"────What the heck, that hurtssss!?"
Maybe because the excitement of the battle had faded a bit, I suddenly remembered that my stomach was pierced, and the pain came rushing back.
'...You should be grateful for Rouza-sama's consideration. Just as you guessed, it pierced in a perfect spot, avoiding the vital organs. If you move carelessly or pull out the swordstick (me), I can't guarantee your life.'
"Thanks for the kind words... cough."
As I spoke lightly, blood came pouring out of my mouth.
From the outside, it must look either dangerous or ridiculous to see me collapsed with a blade stuck in my stomach. Even though it avoided the vital spots, it was still a serious injury. Just like Touga warned, if I moved around, I could hurt other organs, and if I pulled it out, I would bleed out quickly.
Right now, all I could do was wait for Kyunei to arrive as fast as possible.
"Seriously!! I didn't expect it to go this far!?"
"If I had told you, you would have definitely stopped me, right?"
"Of course!!"
Even though she was furious, Kyunei quickly prepared for treatment.
Actually, I had downplayed the part where I let Rouza stab me in the stomach. I knew it would be hard for her, as a doctor, to accept a method that was almost like suicide. Naturally, I expected to get a good scolding once the plan worked out.
"──Alright. Mikage, please."
"Understood."
Mikage, who came with Kyunei, placed her hand on my shoulder while grabbing the swordstick stuck in my stomach.
"Yukina-sama."
"Yeah, go ahead."
"Then... excuse me."
──Sliiiiiide.
"Ngi!"
The blade sliding inside my stomach made the pain come back, and I let out a pathetic sound. Kyunei had Mikage pull out the blade instead of doing it myself because she wanted to avoid making the wound worse, trusting Mikage's skill.
Before blood could spray out too much, Kyunei placed her hand on the wound and used healing magic.
As the wound slowly closed, Mikage wiped the blood off the swordstick with a cloth and carefully put it back in its sheath, placing it next to Rouza.
After a while, the wound looked closed on the surface, and the bleeding completely stopped. If my clothes weren't soaked in blood, people wouldn't think I had been stabbed. Her skill was impressive.
"...This is good. Your important organs aren't hurt, so if you rest for a few days, you'll be fine. But you really pushed yourself, didn't you? At least for today, you won't be able to move well."
Thanks to Kyunei, the bleeding was kept to a minimum, but my whole body was aching even more.
Before I got stabbed in the stomach, Rouza had trapped me in an ice cage. I had to break out of that forcefully, and it took a lot of strength, like when using the 'Great Magic Blade.' Because I used more power than I had, my muscles and joints were screaming, and this pain felt worse to me than the wound in my stomach.
"When we get home, you're getting a lecture."
"...By the way, where's Aina?"
I look around to avoid Kyunei's angry gaze, which is more intense than usual. Only Kyunei and Mikage have rushed over, and Aina is nowhere to be seen.
"She's arranging the carriage and gathering people to carry you, Yukina-kun. They're all gathering and getting excited on their own. We have to do at least that much."
I see. If anyone can handle people well, it's her.
'This time was really risky. I was on edge the whole time. Not literally, though.'
It felt like a hassle to reply to Gram through Telepathy, but I completely agreed with what he said.
Especially after being trapped in the ice cage, if I had made even one mistake, I would have lost. After breaking free from the ice, if Rouza had pushed me to my limits without using his trump card, I would have been the first to run out of strength. Also, if Rouza had really wanted to kill me, the moment he used his trump card, my defeat would have been certain.
With Rouza's skills, I figured he could stab my stomach without hitting any vital spots, but that was just a guess.
As Touga said, I was taking advantage of Rouza's weakness, which left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Still, even with that bitterness, I had no choice but to hold on to Mikage.
Anyway, somehow, this is how it is──.
'Oh, this is bad.'
The relaxed look I had just moments ago disappeared, and Gram, now calm, was giving off a tense vibe. Right after that, I heard heavy footsteps approaching, stomping on the ground.
Getsuya was approaching with a terrifying look on his face. His eyes were fixed on me, and I could feel his anger radiating from his whole body, making the air around him seem to shake.
"Kyunei, I'm fine, just stay back a bit."
"...There's no way I can do that."
Kyunei noticed that something was seriously wrong with Getsuya. She gasped but pulled me close to protect me. Even though I could feel the 'killing intent' coming from Getsuya, I couldn't move my body.
But just a few steps away, Mikage stood in front of Getsuya, blocking his path.
