"What is this? Is it the festival crowd?!"
The town was overflowing with people.
In a few days, there would be a festival to celebrate the King's birthday.
Because of that, people were gathering.
It wasn't just Hokurin town. Probably, people were coming from nearby towns and villages too.
That's why visibility was terrible. Even if I stood on my tiptoes, I couldn't see anything around me.
And... there were so many people that I couldn't even run.
But Seirei's silver hair stood out. Someone must have seen her.
For example, a tall person or someone in a good spot might have seen her...

In the square, a carriage was parked.
It was the carriage of a noble who came to see the town.
In this world, carriages are like chariots with seats attached to wheels.
The seats are high up.
If someone is sitting there, they might be able to see Seirei.
I could see the emblem carved on the carriage.
That's... the carriage of His Majesty the King's younger brother.
The Prince's name is Ai Hakusho, also known as Ryougen-kun.
He is one of the characters in 'History of Swordmaster' and is the protagonist's supporter.
Since this world is a feudal society, it's rude to speak to a noble without permission. Honestly, you could get killed for it.
But the Ryougen-kun in the game is kind and virtuous.
So, I probably won't get killed. Maybe.
Perhaps──I could ask for his help.
The fact that Seirei was kidnapped... might be related to the 'Kou Tenhou Destruction ending.'
If I can't get her back like this, I might end up ruined, just like in the game.
Then... even if I'm punished here and killed... it wouldn't make much difference.

I stood next to the carriage and shouted.
Before the guards could reach for their swords, I bowed down.

"Seize him! No mercy for a child──."
"Wait! Let him speak. Go on, boy."
A voice came back from the carriage.
It was strong—but also gentle.
"My little stepsister's name is Seirei. She's a smaller girl with silver hair. She wears a pink hairpin and a blue robe. She was taken away by a man claiming to be her uncle! My father and brother know about this! I came to find her, but it's hard to see her in this crowd. I thought that those up in the carriage might have seen her, so even though I know it's rude, I called out!!"
I shouted all at once and pressed my forehead to the ground.
"I'll accept any punishment later. Please, could you lend me your strength?!"
"Lift your head, boy. I respect your bravery."
I lift my face as I was told.
The man in the carriage――Ryougen-kun――was smiling.
His age... at the start of the game, he was in his late 50s, so now he's in his 40s.
His hair is mixed with gray, fitting for his age. But his skin looks good, and his eyes are full of energy.
Ryougen-kun squints and looks at me,
"'General Skybear' is also the shield that protects Aika Country. How could I refuse the request of his son? It's unthinkable to punish him."
"Thank you so much!"
"Now, whether anyone has seen your stepsister... hmm. I see."
Ryougen-kun turns around and exchanges words with the others in the carriage.
Then, he quickly faces me again,
"I heard someone saw a girl in a hood entering an alley with a man. Silver hair was spilling out from the hood. It was over that way."
"Thank you very much! I'll come to thank you later!!"
I bow and start running toward the alley.
Right now, helping Seirei is my top priority.
But... there are so many people because of the festival.
I can't even walk straight, let alone run.
It's been a while since Seirei was taken. At this rate, I won't catch up.
Then――
"'Beast Body Guidance.' Form of the Snake――'Snake's Pathway'!!"
I loosen my spine. I relax all the joints in my body. Just like a snake.
I've been doing this with guidance for a long time. I was able to do it just a moment ago.
If I relax my whole body and move like a snake――

I slip into the gaps in the crowd and move forward.
Just like that, I head toward the alley Ryougen-kun pointed out.
Once I get through the crowd, all I have to do is run with all my strength.
Where are you, Seirei?
Why would Seirei's family kidnap her?
Why is this world so harsh on Seirei?
She lost her family, and just when she was starting to feel better, why is this happening? Why can't Seirei just live in peace!?
"──I will get her back."
I won't let her be taken by that estranged uncle.
If Seirei insists on going, I need to hear the reason first.
I can't stand the thought of Seirei disappearing without understanding... living in fear of a disaster is not what I want.
So I keep running through the alley.
