Volume 11 Chapter 7 The Demon's Gathering
The next morning, I was getting dressed in my room when Rollo, still naked, appeared with a whispery voice.
"Master...~ Good morning service..~. Why are you up already~?"
"Put some clothes on."
I said, throwing a blanket at Rollo. Rollo caught the blanket with her face and fell over.
I looked at her with a half-closed eye and muttered, "Must be a misunderstanding."
I had heard that Loki was a male god, but Rollo was definitely a girl. It had to be a mistake.
Rollo removed the blanket from her face and pouted.
"Come on, Master~! Go back to sleep~! If you don't sleep, I won't be able to do my morning service~!"
"What are you planning to do...?"
"Well, boys in the morning~..."
"Ah, ah! Don't say it! Go back to your room, or else..."
Just as we were arguing, Toxy appeared at the entrance of the room, probably drawn by the commotion.
"What's all the noise about so early in the morning... Wade, you cheater!"
"Wait, wait, wait! It's not like that!"
I frantically denied the accusation. Where did this notion of a polygamist cheater come from, anyway?
Then Sandra appeared, took in the situation, and said,
"Good morning... Wade, you have a thing for young girls?"
"No, it's not like that! Really!"
The situation was getting worse, and I felt my blood pressure rising.
Finally, Ice appeared with a worried expression, and I froze.
"I-I mean, Ice, it's not like that. Really, it's not."
"..."
Ice smiled sweetly and approached Rollo.
"Rollo-chan, it's not nice to tease Wade-kun, is it?"
"My head hurts!"
Rollo got dragged away by Ice without a hitch. As I watched, Toxy and Sandra gave me a mischievous grin.
"...Did you guys conspire against me or something?"
"Wade's sincerity is already well-known, you know♪" Toxy said.
"Besides, it's not like I care if we gain one or 2 more childish wives. I'm the top priority," Sandra said.
"No way, it's me!"
"Toxy's got a heavy burden,"
"Not at all!"
"Whatever, anyway. I've still got to change, so I'll just go ahead and..."
I pushed the two girls out of the room and shut the door behind them, muttering to myself.
"...I don't think I can handle being a husband anymore."
I've been completely wrapped around their fingers, and they're having a field day with me. I let out a sigh and continued getting changed, thinking "Seriously...".
After finishing my change, I headed down to the pub area, where Rollo, Renril the demon siblings, Mung the trainer, and Sur the guide were all gathered in one spot.
"Rollo, come on, get your mood straight. You can't get rejected by the master, can you?"
"Aww, but~..."
Renril comforted the pouting Rollo.
"Have you always been this spoiled, Renril! You must be tired of it."
"It's just Rollo being selfish,"
Mung sympathized with Renril's struggles.
"Hehehe, I think it's great that your family gets along so well."
"Uncle Sur's talking like it's someone else's problem! Get involved, get involved!"
"That's right~! You should suffer too~! Get wrapped around Rollo's selfishness~!"
"Wah, stop, haha. Please stop."
And then Sur got tangled up with the siblings.
I was watching them, wondering when they became such good friends...? They're all demons, except for Sur, who's only half-demon.
"...?"
I suddenly thought, do demons have children? Or is it possible if one of the parents is human? And what about siblings...?
As I was thinking about this, Rollo spotted me watching them from the stairs and exclaimed, "Ah, Master is here~!"
"Master, come join us~! Over here, over here~!"
Rollo waved at me, so I reluctantly went down the stairs.
"This is an unusual group," I said.
"Really? I guess you're right~. But we get along pretty well, don't we~?"
"You guys were getting along amazingly well. When did you become friends?"
Everyone thought for a moment before Rollo answered,
"It's because I'm cute~, so everyone gathered around me~!"
Renril chimed in,
"Don't get too full of yourself."
Mung added,
"We don't see you that way."
And Sur concluded,
"I feel sorry for you, so I'll let you say that. But honestly, your appearance is quite lovely."
Rollo pouted, "Everyone's being mean to me~!"
We all laughed. It's clear that Rollo's appearance has nothing to do with their friendship. But at the same time, I thought...
This group is centered around Rollo. That's the only thing that's clear. It's not just about personality, but a stronger, warmer connection.
In other words...
"...You four are like a family."
Rollo looked at me intently, trying to read my emotions.
Then, she said...
"Master, too~ let's mix in♡ Rollo wants to get along with master~♡."
"Haha, not again. You didn't forget our schedule for today, did you?"
When I said that, Rollo started preparing to head out, saying "That's right~!"
"Ah, that's right. Today, Wade-sama has chosen the members, and we have a observation schedule."
"Ah. Sur is as usual, going with Philia to gather intel on Toxy in the Demon King's army."
I nodded in confirmation to Sur. Then I said, "Mung is with Clay, running the merchant guild. Renril is part of the scouting team"
"Yes. Rollo and I are ready to go."
"Perfect!~."
I nodded vertically, then looked at Renril.
"Mung is the same, but... Renril. You've gained power through dancing and eating. From now on, consider yourself a clear combat force. Keep that in mind."
"Yes. I'll do my best."
Renril nodded and wrapped a string around his hand. Gleipnir. The remnants of Domain Control, stolen from Don Fen.
"Alright. Now, it's just Ice and Sandra."
As soon as I called out their names, footsteps could be heard from upstairs. When I looked, Ice and Sandra were walking down together.
After everyone gathered, I said,
"Then let's go on our observation mission at the circus right away."
