Volume 11 Chapter 5 A Feast Of Intrigue And Strategy

As Yor stepped into the light, she shouted out loudly.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Thank you all for gathering at my party tonight."

Upon Yor's words, the venue fell silent. Yor continued with great enthusiasm.

"In this place, we have only the honorable members of the Merchant Guild. Among them, let me introduce the individuals who will be our main dish tonight."

Main dish? I furrowed my brows. Isn't it supposed to be the guest of honor or something?

If that's the case, ah, I see. I understand now.

In other words, I've stopped pretending to be indifferent.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please give them a round of applause! Here are the esteemed members of Clay Shop."

As Yor said this, the lights illuminated us, who had been scattered around. I was enveloped in the light, and the surrounding darkness seemed even deeper.

"The members of Clay Shop have accomplished something incredible this time. They have completely annihilated Ede Wolf and have once again brought together the Merchant Guild and the Demon King's army."

Upon hearing those words, the entire venue erupted with gasps. "What...?" "So, it was them who caused the major disaster in the slums?" "What incredible power..." The whispers filled the air.

"As I witnessed their presence, I thought to myself. Yes... let's make use of this power and make it the property of the Merchant Guild."

Just as Yor said that, a person appeared beside him.

"Is such a thing possible? I'm sure you all must be thinking that. However, these people can make it happen! They have already seized their base, and now we only await the moment of their resurrection. After that, this person will slaughter them instantly!"

"Ladies and gentlemen, please join me in chanting!" Yor incited the crowd.

"We are supported by the great deer, Eik, of our merchant guild!"

"Waaaaaaah!" The surrounding Demons all got excited at once.

Eik appeared next to Yor, looking the same as always. He was the bodyguard I had fought in the previous series of robberies, and I had won against him.

He snorted with a "Hmph" and examined us under the light.

"I don’t know what trick you used, but for these guys to defeat Don Fen... Well, it’s fine. If Yor says so, I’ll take care of them with Domain Control."

Saying that, Eik tried to touch the runes carved into his antlers.

 So I said.

"Eik! Long time no see! I'm glad to see you. You'll play with me again, right?"

At my words, Eik trembled and stopped. Yor looked at the big deer beside him and said, "Eik?"

Eik was shaking as he stared at me.

 "W-what? Who are you?"

"Oh, I see. I was wearing masks back then. But you can remember, right? Your Domain Control was super fun. The Well of Death, Níðhöggr! It was the best!"

At my words, Eik started to shake even more. Chattering his teeth, he murmured, "No way, that can't be true."

"Then let’s play again, Eik. Come on, use Domain Control! Swallow me! Let me mess around with Níðhöggr one more time!"

As I stepped forward while speaking, Eik leaned back and fell back.

 Then he said.

"You, you are from that robbery!"

"Hahahahaha! Did you just realize it? Come on, let's do it! Come on, come on!"

"~~~~~~! That's it, I'm sorry! Yor! I'm bad, but I'm getting out of here!"

"Eh? Eik? What are you talking about? You're my partner, a long-time partner of the Merchant Guild, aren't you?"

Yor said, as Eik let out.

"Ah, that's it! He has been devoured by my domain and won! I'm no match for him! Give up!"

Eik spat out the words and quickly left the scene, leaving behind a silence that was almost deafening.

The air was thick with tension.

Everyone's gaze was fixed on me, and I could sense it. They were all terrified, but too afraid to move.

 So I said.

"Everyone, let's do it here, all at once!"

 In the next instant,

 The scene turned into hell.

First to move was Sandra, who sprinted across the room and took out half of the demons. Sandra had run the entire room, leaving the demons in tatters.

The next moment, the demons that were still standing began to writhe in agony and fell to the ground. Toxy was triumphantly shouting, "Timing's perfect!"

The lights came back on. All the demons from the Merchant Guild, except for Yor, were lying on the ground, powerless.

 "Huh, huh, huh."

Yor, who had been planning everything, could only watch in dismay at the scene before her. We continued to approach Yor, chatting lightly.

"What do we do with this guy?"

"That's a good idea, Wade-kun. Since we're already here, why don't we leave it to Mung-san?"

"Oh, are you leaving it to me? Alright. How should I finish it?"

Yor is looking stunned, and plopped down on the spot. We all stared down at her.

"Ah, s-sorry... Please, please forgive me..."

"Hey hey, Yor. Aren't you the empress of the bazaar? Be more confident. We've worked hard to get here, don't make us look like fools."

"But really, from consecutive robberies to destroying the slums, isn't it now? I can't believe how stupid she is..."

 "Toxy has a point."

 "Wade is being refuted."

 "Sandra, don't say that."

Yor trembled and said, "Consecutive robberies...? The slums... No way, did all of that really come from you guys...?" Tears even spilled from whatever emotion she was feeling.

 Mung said,

"...This guy looks tasty, doesn't she? Wade-san. If you allow it, can I eat her?"

I widened my eyes at Mung's words. It reminded me of when Renril ate Don Fen.

I looked back. Renril was using Gleipnir skillfully, sorting out and restraining the demons who were still alive among those who had fallen in that place. He seemed to be in a good mood, as if he were about to hum a tune.

After a moment of thought, I said,

"Go ahead. You can do as you please."

"Well then, bon appétit. I understand how the Merchant Guild works, especially after a feast."

 Mung approached. Yor gasped.

"N-no, I don't want to be eaten or danced on! S-stop, no, why, no, no! Stop it! Noooooo!"

We all turned our gaze away from Yor and started to retreat, saying, "Alright, let's withdraw." Only Clay said, "Mung-san, let's talk about how to handle the Merchant Guild later," and called out.

Left behind are only the high-pitched screams of Empress Yor. It was the night when the Merchant Guild came into our hands.
