Chapter 171, Part 2

 [Part 2/4]

"Is that so? Maybe you're from the countryside? The city can be tough, so hang in there."

 "Y-yes!!"

The last smile and encouragement were the final touches. The cold expression and superior attitude, combined with the kind words and the weight of the silver coin, completely pierced Koiha's heart. Her cheeks flushed red, but she glanced at the Young lady beside him and quickly excused herself without doing anything bad....

 "..."

"Young lady, your food is getting cold. Please eat it while it's warm."

After seeing off the store employee, the young man drank his tea and continued writing. He suddenly noticed the Young lady's gaze and his own hand, and encouraged her. He had ordered a dish, but hadn't even touched his spoon.

 "Young lady?"

 "...Is the allowance too little?"

"There's no such thing as having too much money."

She must have overheard their conversation earlier. The childish-looking boss's daughter stared at the young man with a serious expression.

"What are you thinking about, Young lady?"

"Will you listen to my request if I pay the allowance?"

"I'll do my best to grant your requests, Young lady. Even if I receive money, it's useless if it's not good enough."

 "Hmph."

The young man, who had been treated like a servant, had his proposal rejected beforehand. His father had pulled him out, so he had an obligation to the daughter, but that was all. Even now, there were rumors that he was not good enough, but he wanted to aim higher. He didn't want to be hated, but being too liked was also troublesome.

(A good relationship... that's just right.)

The young man thought coldly, wiping his glasses once. Being a servant was a hassle. He just wanted to return to his boss quickly.

"Hey, let's eat and then go shopping. That sounds good, right?"

The Young lady's sweet, coaxing tone. Is she searching for an excuse to get closer to him? Unfortunately, the young man had expected as much.

"Hey, speaking of which, didn't Andou Natsu sell those at the confectionery store on the main street? Let's go buy some after we finish eating, Young lady!"

"Ah! Let's go! Before they sell out!!"

Those fried sweets filled with azuki bean paste originated from a traditional Northern region tea house, which was divided from a long-established shop in the capital. The main family, which was particular about tradition, was forced to develop new products to compete with the popular Nanban coffee shop, and eventually, they decided to import goods from abroad.

The wealthy class in the capital, who loved new things, quickly accepted the new line of sweets, and Andou Natsu was one of them. Since the Young lady had been in the countryside for a long time, she had only heard rumors about it and had never actually tried it. Her expectations were higher than anyone else's.

 "Mmm, mmm...!!"

 "Don't eat too fast, okay?"

As she was at that age, in the end, it was more about the flowers than the dango. The young officer, who was watching the Young lady devour the egg fried rice, thought to himself.

(By the way, wasn't the neighbor a craftsman who sold decorative items?)

There were decorative items for those who couldn't afford high-quality goods, and they didn't look that bad at first glance.

 "..."

The young officer looked at the finished letter in his hand, thought for a moment, and then gazed at the Young lady sitting beside him.

(Maybe if we buy it together, I can fool her?)

It would be troublesome to ask someone to buy it for her, and it wouldn't be good to make her feel obligated. Women were indeed troublesome creatures.

 "Really, it can't be helped..."

He let out a sigh, folded the letter, and put it back in his pocket. It would be better to just give her a simple hair accessory or something. If he put it in an envelope and asked a courier to deliver it, it would be cost free since they're in the same city... but considering the other party's circumstances, that wouldn't be good.

 "What a waste of money..."

He muttered to himself, feeling a bit annoyed, and then drank the lukewarm tea without adding sugar.

* * *

The Miyataka family, one of the 3 prestigious exorcist families in the Northern region, along with the Onitsuki family, and the oldest among the 3.

It is said that they were a clan of cursed masters who had their stronghold in the Center region. They were ordered to join the army during the conquest of Fusō-kuni's Northern region and contributed to the government's efforts using their powers.

Later, like several other exorcist families, they were sealed away in the Northern region. At the time, they were a rare family specializing in cursed techniques, and instead of directly performing exorcisms, they continued to serve in the shadows, doing dirty work. Therefore, this family created many forbidden arts and, using loopholes in the law, refused to abandon their traditions, even going against the imperial court's orders.

As the only impressive existence among the characters in the original work "Firefly of the Dark Night (Yamiyo no Hotaru)" and recorded as the youngest son of the direct lineage, there is Miyataka Shinobu Oshidori. His nickname in the underworld is "Magical Demon Rod".

"What's wrong with being blinded by a big thing? Most problems in the world can be solved with pleasure, don't you think?"

"Hehehe. It's amazing how much pleasure I get from making a proud man fall. This is going to be an addiction."

"It's even more thrilling to corrupt a girl who was cherished with time, effort, and love, and turn her into a slut. This is beyond mere pleasure!"

The above dialogue is an outrageous remark that leaves a strong impact even in "Yamiyo no Hotaru", which is full of outrageous characters. And for Miyataka Shinobu Oshidori, it's just a normal, everyday conversation. He would spout even more outrageous remarks every second in "Darth Tamaki".

With an air of lust and malice, Miyataka's youth showed a mysterious, friendly affection towards Hotoya Tamaki, who had fallen into darkness. Naturally, I was extremely cautious around him.

After all, this world isn't a game, even if it's based on game-like rules. Even if he doesn't appear much outside of the Darth Tamaki route, his existence won't disappear in reality. Besides, the protagonist is already TS, so it's not like she can be saved. I was confident that I would become an asura if he encountered my sister before. I was determined to protect her, even if it meant launching a fierce attack.

Well, there are 2 current issues regarding that troublesome person. One is that their illegal building, which is tainted with evil, is being removed somehow. And another thing is...

"Hmm, not bad at all. For a beast's lair, it's quite impressive, isn't it?"

A bewitching beauty, dressed in a kabuki-inspired outfit, walked into the guest room and sat down, her slit skirt fluttering. Her lower abdomen, which was probably not pierced, was a perfect target for a sneak attack. She gave me a sly, sidelong glance, and when I met her gaze, she flashed a wicked smile. She was a master of manipulation.

 "..."

"Are you on guard? I can understand why you'd feel that way, but have you heard the rumors about the Wild young lady?"

"I've heard that you received special treatment in the Seki City."

Miyataka's young lady, who sensed my hidden, sword-like aura, declared with a shameless, dishonorable nickname. I, on the other hand, could only offer her a formal apology, which was genuinely insincere.

How could I possibly harbor good feelings towards someone who kidnapped my sister and put her in danger? Especially towards that Magical Demon Rod, even though he is become woman who's similar to the protagonist...

...Is it because the protagonist underwent a transformation, and that's why he's a TS?

"Seki City? Ah, yes, that did happen. ...Don't worry about it, okay? I just did what I wanted to do, and it has nothing to do with you. You weren't even there, were you?"

"But if the main house owes you a debt of gratitude..."

 "Liar."

The young lady cut me off, her gaze rising. Her smile, mixed with ridicule and fascination, sent a chill down my spine.

"Even without formalities, I can sense your malice...your hostility? You're quite perceptive, aren't you? Ah, but I'm even more sensitive to people's subtleties."

While claiming to be able to read minds, she teasingly lifted her skirt even higher, revealing her thighs. It was a truly daring rhythm. Her legs were almost completely exposed.

"This is a place where children are present, so please refrain from such behavior."

"Don't worry, I have plenty of experience with children's writing, so I'm confident. Ah, it's okay, I can handle girls too."

 "Stop teasing me."

"You're not gonna talk about that, are you?" I said, trying to change the subject with a hint of annoyance. Magical princess puffed out her cheeks, looking displeased.
