Volume 5 Chapter 28 Revival

Volume 5 Chapter 28 Revival

Unexpectedly, my usual sense of power returned.

 "Alright..."

I poured my magic into it. The Anahata Chakra was successfully reconstructed, and it started functioning properly. I nodded in satisfaction, feeling relieved.

"Since I still have magic left, I might as well do this too."

Recently, my dynamic vision had improved. I focused my image on it and created a second eye, the Anahata Chakra.

 "Yes, it's done!"

I nodded, feeling satisfied. Then, I decided to activate both of them.

 "'Brahma'"

My second heart started beating, and my second eye opened. My heart began to pulsate, and my eye opened wide.

As I opened my eyes, I regained consciousness.

 "Wade!"

The first person to hug me was Toxy. I somehow understood. I hugged Toxy back and patted her back.

"Thanks for helping me. I owe it to you that I'm back."

"Uaaaaaaaah! I'm so glad, Wade, you're alive!"

As I patted Toxy's back, who was crying tears of joy, I stood up. The others also approached me with tears in their eyes.

"I was worried, yeah...! I was really worried, so..."

"Ah, Ice, sorry. I made you worry."

"I was worried too...! But it's good that you're back."

"Thank you, Sandra, for worrying about me."

"This time, your compatibility was bad, Wade-kun. But it's good that Toxy-san was there. If not, we wouldn't have made it."

"Clay, you look calm, but your eyes are red."

"I'm trying to act tough, but it's obvious, huh?"

After exchanging words with my friends, I looked around and saw Moruru, Ridge, and Windy gazing at me with worried expressions.

 I smiled and said,

"Alright, I'm fully revived. Sorry for worrying you."

 "PAPAAAAAA!"

Moruru rushed towards me with incredible speed, and I was startled.

A little while later, Alex returned.

"Oh, you're back to normal! I was worried sick. Toxy, you must be exhausted too. Good job taking down that enemy."

After Alex praised us, he said, "I have something to talk about. It's not something I want to discuss in front of everyone, so can we talk about it over there?" and led us to the guest room.

We moved to the guest room, sat down on the sofa, and faced Alex, who sat down across from us. "So, first things first," Alex said, looking at Toxy.

"Toxy, did you recover the Demonic sword Muramasa?"

 "Yeah, I did."

 "Then, put it over there."

 "Huh? Got it."

As Toxy tried to hand it over, Alex instructed her to put it on the table. Toxy placed the sword on the table. It was the troublesome Demonic sword that had stabbed me.

"I think it's about time we had a talk. Wade, and Toxy, you 2 have a fate to bear, and it's related to the nature of your strength."

As Alex began to speak again, we straightened our posture.

"First, about what happened this time. Honestly, it was really dangerous. If Toxy hadn't been there, we would have been in big trouble. That's because this time's incident was something that could only be resolved with brute force."

"I'm listening. Was it The Cursed Thirteen Blades of Victory?"

 I asked, and Alex nodded.

"That's right. This one is particularly nasty. Wade, try holding it."

When he told me to, I tried to touch the Demonic sword Muramasa. But as soon as I got close, I felt an intense fear and instinctively pulled my hand back.

 "What the...? What just happened?"

"That's right. You've already acquired enough of a hero's qualities. So, you can't wield the 'hero-killer' Muramasa."

"What do you mean by hero?"

"Ordinary people, geniuses, masters, heroes, and monsters."

 Alex said.

"Ordinary people go without saying. They're people without talent or ability, just average adventurers who are barely above average. Imagine them as iron-ranked. No matter how hard they train, they're still just copper-ranked."

 Next, about geniuses. Alex continued...

"Geniuses are those who have surpassed other people until now like you guys. From copper to silver. They don't have experience, but they have talent. They have shining qualities and limitless potential, easily surpassing ordinary people."

Alex draws a line between them.

"Masters are the pinnacle of geniuses. They possess both talent and experience, making them strong. They're at the lower level of silver and gold. Or, you could say they're those who couldn't become heroes."

 Hero. Alex looks at me.

"Heroes are those who have surpassed the masters like you guys now. They are from the middle to the upper-rank of gold. They have both talent and experience, but what clearly sets them apart from masters is that they can't die no matter what. They can return from any desperate situation. Only heroes can kill other heroes."

Do you understand why, Alex asks, looking at Toxy. Toxy thinks for a bit and answers.

"Is it because they carry their fate?"

"That's right. 'Fate' is something that doesn't let the person carrying it die. It summons disasters and turmoil, but ultimately makes the person overcome them. And so, geniuses can rise to become heroes."

Alex taps on the desk, as if pointing to Muramasa.

"Wade, you lost this time because the 'fate' that lets you win continuously was absorbed by this sword."

 "...!"

I swallow hard, feeling a lump in my throat. Killing someone who can't die. I'm sure I've been killed once, just like it was decided.

"Let me be clear. You guys who have reached the gold level are almost all heroes. Toxy, who has become a monster, is a bit of an exception, but basically, these 'hero-killer' weapons are designed to kill you guys at a destined level."

 "That's terrifying..."

"Yeah, it is. Be afraid. You guys won't die from just any accident anymore. But that doesn't mean the danger has decreased. Even the strongest heroes can be killed if you know the method."

When Alex, who knows many things, says this, I feel a chill run down my spine.

 "The same goes for Toxy. Toxy won't die from a hero-killer, but if there's a hero-killer, it's imaginable that there's also a 'monster-killer', right?"

"...It's not like it's someone else's problem, is what you're saying?"

"Yeah, if it's just strong enemies, that's still okay. But with these kinds of weapons, heroes in the same realm, and monsters, they'll definitely increase from now on. Rather, the threats that can kill you will increase from now on, I think."

Be on guard, that's what it means. As for me, I've experienced being on the verge of death, and it was quite an enjoyable experience, but it was also very worrying. From now on, I think I need to be more careful.

 So, Toxy asked Alex,

"Hey, what's with the 'monsters' you mentioned earlier? You don't mean creatures like me, do you?"

"Oh, yeah, I didn't explain it, did I? Well, think of monsters like Mudi. The culmination of heroes. Something that can one-sidedly kill heroes. At the platinum level. The strongest in the world, literally."

 "...I see."

Toxy nodded with a serious face. I thought for a bit and asked,

"So does that mean there are multiple people who are the strongest in the world? There are at least 3 people at the platinum level, right?"

"That's right. If it's just the strongest, 3 people wouldn't be enough. Even someone like Fist of the Dragon, who's wreaking havoc in the war, can be called a monster. From now on, it's all about compatibility and strategy."

Hahaha! Alex laughed. I realized that there were even stronger people out there, and I started to get more and more excited.

"There are still so many strong people out there!"

"You're getting excited just from hearing this, but I'm terrified, Wade."
