Chapter 72 Hellish Running
I, Leaf Chemist, decided to train my guildmates.
It might be presumptuous for someone like me, a low-ranking member, to instruct senior members.
But I know I owe them a lot. By passing on the methods taught by the elder people in the village, I hope to repay even a little.

I've come to the entrance of a dungeon near the capital city.
Members of Divine Gemstone are gathered here.

I take out a certain medicine from my magic bag.
"It's the Acceleration Potion!"
"Acceleration potion? What's that, Leaf-kun?"
I hand it to Mercury-san.
"What is it?"
"Try drinking it!"

"Oh... I see."
Well, I guess there's no helping it...
Then, Mercury-san lets out a groan.
"...They say you lose if you fall in love, and that's really true. Alright, I got it. I guess I should drink it, right?"
Mercury-san is really kind after all! I like her!
She gulps down the Acceleration Potion.
"Oh, my body feels lighter."
"Drinking it temporarily lightens your body weight. Also, your legs won't stop moving."
"Huh? Wai- wait, wait, wait!!!"
Mercury-san starts to jog in place, then whooshes off at an incredible speed!
"I can't stop my legs!"
"You won't stop until the medicine wears off! Oh right, I've left a flag as a marker for the boss room!"
"NOOOOOOOO! IF I STOP, MONSTERS WILL COMEEEE, SO I HAVE TO KEEP RUNNNNNNING!"
In the blink of an eye, Mercury-san disappeared.
Aerial asked fearfully,
"B-by the way, what about the boss?"
"I've left it in a near-death state with medicine. This way, the Dungeon Core will malfunction, and just by touching it, we can return to the surface."
"I see... You're really good at doing scary things, aren't you?"
Suddenly, a magic circle appeared in front of me.
Mercury-san collapsed, sweating profusely.

I take out the Elixir and apply it to Mercury-san.

As Mercury-san gets up, her legs start moving on their own.
Thanks to the Elixir, the previously severed Acceleration Potion starts working again.
In medicine, it's common to combine multiple drugs for treatment.
The Elixir can restore severed potions to their effective state.
"Wait!? Leaf-kun!? Am I running again!?"
"Yes! By repeating this, we'll train all the muscles in your body! Keep running!"
"NOOOOOO! I'M FINE, REALLLLLLLLY!"
Thud, thud, thud! Mercury-san zoomed away.
With worried expressions, the guild members watched her go.
"Alright! Let's run and run and run some more!"
At my words, Aerial-san timidly raised his hand to ask.
"U-um, what if we get attacked by monsters in the dungeon and die?"
"Don't worry! I'll immediately revive you and continue the training!"
Huh? Why does everyone look so tired already?
The training has just begun!
