Chapter 46 Into The Boss'S Room
I, Leaf, along with Mercury-san, am exploring a dungeon that appeared in Abyss Wood.
We've been turning zombies back into humans and restoring Elder Skeleton to their original forms.
Later, using the power of the green spirits, I managed to turn all the zombies in the dungeon back into humans.
However, since ghost-type monsters didn't have physical bodies, I could only help them find peace.
"It's frustrating..."
"No, you've done enough, Leaf-kun. It's impossible to keep those without physical bodies in the mortal realm."
"Yeah... that's true. Even if we create temporary bodies with alchemy, the souls won't stay, as Granny Sei Fart said."
In my hometown, Dead End Village, many heroes gather.
Granny Sei Fart is an amazing saint, but she somehow knows alchemy too.
She can create a human body through alchemy. However, it was stated that even if she creates a temporary body for a dead soul, resurrection is not possible.
The world's greatest Saint said so, if it can't be done, then it can't be done.
At least, I hope they can rest in peace.
"But you're still exceptional, Leaf-kun. Even when attacked by an Elder Lich's curse..."

During the previous battle with the Elder Skeleton, it was revealed that neither poison nor curses affect me.

Mercury-san grabs my collar and shakes me vigorously. She's full of energy today!
"Sorry to interrupt your moment, lovebirds?"
"W-What, who's interrupting us!"
Ignoring the blushing Mercury-san, Tai-chan points ahead.
"It looks like we've reached the boss room."
Ahead, there's a huge door.
Its surface is covered in intricate patterns, glowing slightly...
It resembles the boss monster's room I once saw in a hidden dungeon.
A boss monster is literally the master of the dungeon.
They are the guardians that protect the heart of the labyrinth.
"Are there also powerful monsters like the ones we saw in the previous hidden dungeon here?"
"Well, yes. Boss monsters are always exceptionally strong. Prepare yourself..."
Mercury-san looked at me and let out a weak, dry smile.
"But no need for that. This'll be a piece of cake."
"Wow, Mercury-san! That sounded like something a strong person would say, so cool!"
"Are you being sarcastic!? Are you!? ARE YOU SAYING THAT SARCASTICALLYYYYY!?"
Mercury-san grabbed my collar and shook me vigorously.
Sarcastic? What is she talking about?
"Mercury-san, you said it'd be a piece of cake, didn't you?"
"The meaning was that it'd be a piece of cake with Leaf-kun here! Get it! From the context!"
"I don't get it!"
"Oh, that's right! If you can tell, then I wouldn't need to drink this headache medicine so much...!!!!"
Mercury-san gulps down the Elixir.
"Do you like it?"
"It's not like I like it or anything..."
"Then why are you drinking it like that?"
"Don't stop me, Tai-chan!"
Tai-chan stops Mercury-san and freezes her movement.
What's going on?
"Alright, let's finish this quickly, my Lord."
"Oh! Tai-chan sounds like a person strong too!"
"Haha. Alright, let's go, my Lord."
I enter the boss monster's room with Tai-chan and the others.
It's a wide hall, just like the one I saw in the hidden dungeon.
"I wonder where the enemy is...? There's no sign of them coming out."
Meanwhile, Tai-chan, now in Behemoth form, is looking ahead.
'My Lord... that's it.'
Tai-chan's entire body hair is standing on end.
As she growls, there stands a lone armored warrior ahead.
"Armor...?"
"It's a living dead. An object possessed by grudges, transformed into a wandering apparition."
Mercury-san explains while trembling.
With a clank, the armored warrior rises.
"So, it's not a physical body but a suit of armor possessed by a grudge spirit?"
"Yes...that's right. So resurrection is impossible...and it seems like a tough opponent to face."
Mercury-san activates the Appraisal Eye.
"The equipment of the ancient hero... [Ain]."
"Ain?"
"The man who once saved the world. Resentment has taken hold of the sword and armor he used."
It seems that the armored warrior is...
"Just an ordinary swordsman."
"Yes, quite skilled... WAITTTTTTTT, what are you saying!?"
Mercury-san looks at me with a shocked expression.
"Did you hear it!? He saved the world!"
"Huh, but is that really a big deal?"
"Of course it's awesome!"
"But haven't the elder people in the village saved the world like dozens or hundreds of times?"
"They're abnormal! Saving the world isn't something ordinary people can do!"
"Oh boy~"
"UGHHHHHHH!"
Clank, clank, the armored warrior approach us.
