Chapter 108 Infiltrating Spy
As Leaf Chemist heads to the capital city, the adventurer guild, Divine Gemstone, gathers at the guild hall.
All the guild members are listening attentively to the words of their guild master, Henrietta.
"Everyone, tonight, the capital city will be under threat. Listen carefully."
There are a total of 50 guild members gathered.
Divine Gemstone has always been a small but elite group, with some adventurers currently away on missions.
Henrietta explains the overview to the gathered 50 people.
A faceless monster is set to attack the capital city.
The enemy has the ability to shapeshift.
"Shapeshifting ability...?" "That's...!" "So, does that mean even those here might not be guaranteed allies?"
A murmur spreads through the surroundings.
However, amidst the unrest, Henrietta reassures the guild members.
"Right now, Leaf is heading this way. He can tell if someone is a shape-shifter or a monster, and he even has a special medicine to deal with monsters."

Henrietta wrapped the bandages around her hand, hiding the back of it.
"When we meet our allies on the night road, we will show each other this mark. Those with the mark are friends, those without are enemies..."

The other person has a transformation ability. However, they didn't know about this agreement.
In other words, someone without a mark is considered an enemy.

Henrietta boasts confidently.
"Anyway, everyone, be cautious. Got it?"

"Alright. Let's form pairs and guard the capital city together!"
Nodding, the guild members form pairs.
Henrietta breathes a sigh of relief.
"Guild Master, is Black Silver-san not coming?"
As Niina mentions, Black Silver is one of the S-rank adventurers belonging to this guild.
They are quite skilled and their presence would be reassuring.
"Unfortunately, they're not here today. That person on an overseas mission."
"Oh, I see."
Niina smirked evilly.
"Hah...!" Henrietta realized too late.
With a swift motion, Niina's arm extended like a snake.
"Oh no...!"
Niina's arm covered Henrietta's mouth, making her unable to breathe, causing Henrietta to faint.
"Hey, Niina-san. What's wrong, Guild Master?"
Aerial's little brother, who was nearby, asked Niina.
"The Guild Master seems a bit tired. She's going to take a short rest. Let's go."
Niina helped Henrietta up to the second floor.
There was a cross mark on the back of her left hand. Indeed, it might have been effective if the opponent didn't know about it.
"If the opponent didn't know... right."
Niina's face twisted and transformed into Henrietta's form.
